All Nightmare Long

Chapter 466

Author's Note: I am blaming this chapter on a reader on wattpad. You know who you are. She asked if Jes was going to find someone and I said no, she's not into anyone in our group like that, she's a loner. Fast forward 24 hours, and brain wouldn't let it rest. So while Eugene and and Abraham are out (which I am not showing) and Rosita, Daryl (and I'm throwing in Jewel) and Denise are out, I'm going to have Jes out. Jes isn't one to sit around and do nothing, she's going to go out and head to clear her head. Anyway, Jes is going to run into an old face from her past. It's not going to be love at first sight but she needs a partner in crime that kind of thinks like her for the war. (I mean who keeps an inventory of all the weapons they have, seriously.) This group is going to be like Oceanside, and the Kingdom, on there own but seen occasionally except the main OC, he'll be promament later on not right now.) More hands to fight against Negan. Anyway, I'll post the OC at the ending, haven't decided who I am using yet. Please review.

Joey and Jes POV:

Jes went to the armoury and looked at the weapons they had brought back. She noticed that Olivia hadn't put them in inventory yet and grabbed a few of the hand guns, putting them in a backpack., grabbing packages of bullets. She then grabbed a couple of the rifles, putting them in the bag, letting them stick up in the bag.

"You planning on leaving?" Joey asked as he came in.

"For a bit," Jes responded, not looking up from what she was doing.

"That looks like it's more than a bit," Joey commented as he jumped up on the counter. "You want to tell me what's going on? Do you think this is really the best time to take off, especially with some guns?"

"I'm going to put some of the guns around the area. Olivia hasn't inventoried them yet. We should have a stash around the area, like we did at the prison. It wouldn't have been possible when Deanna was alive, she would have never agreed to it, and I didn't feel like having another fight with her. She's gone, the weapons are here," Jes said with a shrug.

"You were going to leave without telling anyone? Now?" Joey questioned.

"I was going to sign out on Jewel's log, plan to be back in the morning, maybe early afternoon," Jes said. "I saw a couple spots that I want to check out, see if there's anything worthwhile. Near Arlington," she said. "Was going to suggest a supply run, but never really had any downtime." Jes sighed and looked at him. "You want to come along, so I'm not doing this alone?"

"Is this a good time to do this?" Joey asked.

"The world doesn't stop because there's a boogey man who may be lurking outside," Jes answered. "Abraham and Eugene are going out, so I won't be the only one. The food that we got from Hilltop is only going to last so long. Might as well start exploring outside where the supply runners been," she told him.

"Quinn, Tara and Heath are out," Joey reminded her. "You are going to go look for more of Negan's people, aren't you?"

"Looking for outposts. We went in with barley only information, now we know that they have more then one outpost. Plus, there are some places in Arlington I do want to check out. Fort Meyer is across from Arlington, may be worth a quick check. Check out the cemetery," Jes said.

"The Fort probably has been picked clean, but you already know this. So why do you want to go to a deserted army base and a cemetery?" Joey questioned.

"There's always something," Jes said. "And only crazy people would hide something in a cemetery," Jes said with a smirk.

"So what does that say about you?" Joey teased her as he jumped off the counter. "We'll have to walk, probably be gone overnight."

"There's a few places that Glenn mentioned that are cleared out," Jes said. "It's early, we can probably be there in a couple hours, may not have to spend the night anywhere, depends if we find anything," she said. "Get a bag ready, I'm going to get Summer."

"Summer?" Joey questioned.

"Yes, Summer. Blond, five foot two, your girlfriend, have a very protective set of parents. Ring a bell?" Jes questioned.

"She's not going to want to go out, not after yesterday, not after us not getting Negan," Joey explained.

"She can't wallow, or be allowed to get angry. That doesn't do her or anyone else any good, believe me," Jes said. "She needs something to keep her distracted before she does something stupid," she mumbled.

"What do you mean?" Joey asked.

"She's a Dixon," Jes simply answered. Jes looked at his look and sighed. "She's a Dixon, they think with there hearts faster than there brains when family is in danger. Leaving in ten minutes, meet by the gate, otherwise I'm leaving without you," she informed him as she walked to the gate. "Summer, come on down. How long you been up there?" she questioned.

Summer nodded at Sasha before she climbed down. "Since about five or six, couldn't sleep, wanted to do something productive.

Jes nodded. "Good, Joey and I are going to head out to Arlington, should be a day trip, maybe an over nighter. You're going to come with us," she informed her.

"I am?" Summer questioned.

"You are. Look, if you are anything like your Uncle Merle, you are thinking of a way to go out on your own and look around. This gives you a chance to look around, but have back up. Go get a bag, sign the log, meet me back here in ten minutes," she instructed, not giving her a chance to argue. "Tell your mom where we are going," instructed.

Rick and Jewel's POV:

Rick walked into the building where they had held Morgan when he first came into Alexandria. He arched an eyebrow as they saw a prison cell in the process of being almost built.

"You've been busy," Jewel responded. She grinned at Jenny who had building materials smeared on her face. "You've been helping hug?"

Jenny giggled as Morgan smiled. "Not sure if she got any of it on the wall, seems like it's all on her."

"Well that's what helpers are for,"Jewel said.

"Why?" Rick asked.

"It'll give you some choices next time," Morgan explained.

Jewel put her hand on Rick's arm. "Do you want me to take her up for a bath?" Jewel questioned.

"No, we got it, don't we?" Morgan asked.

"Yep," Jenny answered.

Jewel nodded as she walked with Morgan. "He's trying," she told him.

"Just the wrong way," Rick said as he kissed her. "I'm going to go walk around the wall."

Jewel nodded. "Come back home for lunch," she said as she walked up to the house where Daryl was working on his bike. "Hope still asleep?"

"Mar's inside with her," Daryl answered. "Saw Carl with Judith over at the other house."

"You know it's not your fault right? The people that stole your bike? That's not on you," Jewel answered.

"Carol said that's who we are, saving people,"Daryl responded.

"We are," Jewel responded.

"Maybe it shouldn't be, not anymore," Daryl responded.

"I don't believe that," Jewel responded. "There's bad people, but there's good," she answered as she turned and saw Summer. "You were up early."

"Didn't sleep, couldn't," Summer said. "Jes and Joey are going to Arlington, day trip, maybe an overnighter. She wants me to tag along."

"You didn't sleep, you think that's a good idea?" Daryl asked.

"Can't sleep, might as well try to do something to try to wear myself out. Not the first time I'd be operating off no sleep," Summer responded.

"Doesn't mean it's right, especially with those people still being out there," Jewel told her.

"I'll be with Jes and Joey," Summer responded. "I need to get a bag ready," she said as she walked into the house.

Jewel sighed. "It was a lot easier when she was younger and not so independent," she said.

Daryl laughed. "She's been independent since the day she was born."

"True," Jewel answered as Summer came back out of the house. "You safe alright?" she told her as she kissed the top of her head. "That was quick."

"Never unpacked the bag. I'm your daughter," she responded. "I'll be safe," Summer answered.

So I didn't get to where I wanted to get but that's OK. Please review.
