"Guy's, we have a serious problem." He walked into the den and checked around making sure Gabrielle wasn't there. Thank god, he didn't need to deal with that right now. "One of the new acolytes magic roofied Vera and now she's hot for me."

Jack looked around and set his computer down while Lilith set down her bag of chips. "Dude I was eating."

"Sorry Lilith, listen I need help undoing whatever magical whammy got put on Vera because she wants to jump my bones and I'm not ready to have a Grand Magus as a girlfriend so let's get going, go team."

Jack got out of his chair and set down his laptop. "Do you know which acolyte did it?"

"Yeah, the boy one." Hamish was honestly bad with names and this year four kids had been allowed to fill the slots so Randal hadn't taken time to learn their names.

"Cool Randal, Lilith you go find that Henry kid and talk to him, Randal and I will go talk to William. Let's figure out which one did it first and then figure out what spell they used." He walked over to Randal. "Vera is going to be so pissed."

"Yeah well, right now I'm pretty pissed for her, but mostly for me."

Lilith smirked thinking about the situation again, "You think Vera's pissed, imagine Hamish or Gabrielle."

Randal raised a hand, "Yeah sort of the point, don't tell either of them."

Jack and Randal tracked down this Will kid finding out he was a slippery little devil. It didn't make it any easier that once they found him he actually ran. Jack wasn't going to jump to conclusions but he was willing to bet Will was their guy. Randal chased after him determined to kick his ass but unfortunately for Randal Jack was a track champion. He reached out and grabbed Will by the arm before planting his feet and nearly yanking the boy down despite not trying to hurt him. "I'm going to say you were the one who put the Whammy on Vera."

"Yeah, tell us what you did so we can undo it."

"I…" He looked terrified of the two werewolves. "I spiked her drink with a potion so she would like me." He looked between Jack and Randal shaking a little. "You guys aren't going to kill me are you?"

"Dude, you idiot, you gave her a love potion." Randal growled.

"I just wanted her to like me, everyone kept saying the Grand Magus was really intimidating and scary and I thought…"

"You thought making her fall in love with you would make her less scary? Let me tell you, doesn't work." No, if anything she was scarier.

"No, not fall in love with me, just like me."

"Wrong spell moron, this is why we have rules." Jack added. "Now you have to help us take it off her before you give her a real reason to be scary and intimidating because trust me, any story you have been told doesn't even cut it to what Vera Stone can bring down on you."

Randal added, "Yeah, he used to be handsome before he made her angry." He looked at Jack then back to the acolyte. "And Hamish, he use to have balls but one messup and" He ran a finger across his neck. "Took those too."

"Randal." Of course Jack would stand up for Hamish, sometimes he wondered if Jack had a Hamish crush the way he defended him. It was still a sore subject to Randal but Hamish was the Magus now. "Neither of those things are true but she's not someone you want to be on the wrong side of, trust me, I've been there." He let go of the kid and patted him on the shoulder. "Now, what book did you get this out of?"

William pulled his backpack off his shoulder and carefully pulled out the small red book before handing it to him. "Dude, this is from the Reliquary, how did you get it." Randal took the book and looked it over. "Hey, this was one of ours." He looked at the stamp on the back, the mark of the Knights. "She's putting our books in her reliquary now."

"Just the spell books, none of our journals, calm down."

"Good, that's like putting our diaries in a public library." he took the book from Jack then looked back to Will. "How did you get this book anyways?"

Will looked a little shy about giving that answer. "Angus."

"Douche. He knows first year acolyte's aren't allowed any access to the reliquary let alone books from it."

"When I told him what I was going to do he was happy to help me out, he said this one was the best book for the purpose, he even told me which potion to make."

"Asshole." Randal nodded his head and opened the book. "Now could you please point out the potion?"

William took the book back flipping through the pages before pointing at it, "This one."

Jack took the book back reading it over, "Cool, thanks, oh and Will I'll make sure she doesn't know it was you so long as you promise not to mess up like this again. She's intimidating and scary yes but Vera is a good person. So long as you follow the rules and do right she's like you."

"Thanks Jack." Will smiled at him.

Randal slapped Jack on the back, "You big softy."

"Yeah well, would you put it past Vera to not have that kid powdered for this?"

"Or fed to Tundra."

"Tundra wouldn't…." Jack paused a moment thinking about that. It was Vera, Tundra was hyper protective of her. "Yeah good point."
