All Nightmare Long
Chapter 474
Author's Note: Negan won't stop bugging me. He doesn't take 'shut up' well, at all. But when I'm at work is not the best time to go on a rant. I go on vacation next week, couldn't you wait until then? Obviously not. Anyway, I have some smart readers. Some have PM'D me and said Joey and Summer aren't making it to the Hilltop, are they? Negan's lurking. HA! Summer lied to Negan about not having family, yeah, don't think that is going to go over well. So, now let's see how they all just knew where to be to get team family in the predicament that they were in. Please review.
Sanctuary:
Negan sat up in his chair and looked at Dwight then got up and picked up Lucille. "So, let me get this straight, Dwighty Boy, I lost more men to this bunch of assholes? You were able to catch one of these pricks, surround a bunch more, and STILL they managed to kill more of my men? AND, they still got away? How the hell did that happen D?"
"I killed one of them, caught them off guard, and had another of them captive. I gave them the big speech about what's theirs is yours. I thought it was going good, thought they were coming to an understanding," Dwight explained.
"Then what the hell happened?" Simon asked.
"The guy on his knees, Eugene, he said if I was killing anyone then I should start with the person hiding. I sent people to check it out, and," Dwight started to say, not finishing.
"And what?" Negan asked.
Dwight sighed. "He leaned over and clamped down on me, caught me off guard, caught all of us off guard. Gave them the distraction that they needed. They had people in the trees, we don't even have people in the trees."
"He bit you? You mean?" Laura asked.
"Yes," Dwight answered not wanting to go into it.
Negan whistled. "Damn, D, that sucks!" he said. "You need to see the Doc?"
"No, I'm good," Dwight assured him.
"So they all got away?" Simon questioned.
"They are well prepared, like an army," Dwight answered.
"Well then, we're just going to have to be more damn prepared, aren't we?" Negan questioned.
"What do you mean boss?" Simon asked.
"We're as prepared as we can be," Laura added.
Negan slammed his hand down on the table. "Well obviously we aren't, are we Laura? Because in the past week I've lost a whole lot of men, and a whole hell of a lot of weapons. So, I think that we are the furthest away from being prepared that we can be," he said. "I want patrols beefed up, block every possible road. Not just a few people, bring out the damn Calvary."
"How many people boss?" Simon asked.
"All the Savior's, hell that's what I have you all around for, isn't it? Shut shit down. Well right now, you all are sucking at that job!" Negan informed them. "Except for maybe Dwighty Boy, I mean he got a chunk bit out of him. He did a bang up job there," he said. "Show me on the map where you ran into these pricks at."
Dwight pointed at the map on the table. "Caught Eugene here, killed the woman on the tracks, group was here. Don't know where the others came from but they were behind us."
"Was the leader there?" Sampson questioned.
"No. There was a woman, Jewel, she was respected. She tried to trade herself for Eugene. I asked her if she was in charge, she said that she was the one I was dealing with. Just like she was dealing with me for Negan," Dwight answered.
"Jewel," Negan said as tried the word out. "Is she hot?"
Dwight shrugged. "She's older, not to old but not what you usually go for."
"Shame," Negan said.
"So our boys got taken out by something big here," Simon said. "Then the outpost, here." He said as he pointed to the map.
"Let's not forget the trucks we sent to help Michelle," Regina said.
"Or the men you left behind near Hilltop," Simon said.
"It would take a lot of people to do all this right?" Sylvie asked.
"Why are you here again? You aren't a Savior," Arat told her.
"She's here because I want her to be here. Don't make me regret having you here, Arat. I can think of other things you could do, maybe some for points," Negan warned. "We block all possible roads and surround them at a central point. Get men from the outposts. They are pulling extra guard shifts right? So these assholes don't surprise them."
"Just like you ordered," Simon answered.
"From what's been going on, these pricks must be having some help right? They couldn't do it all by themselves," Regina said.
"They better not be getting help from anyone, or they might be getting a visit from Lucille," Negan said. "How long will it take to get everyone out on the roads?"
"We can leave here in an hour, send trucks in various directions. Keep off the main roads, do back roads, have look outs," Simon said. "Block roads after they pass," he told Negan.
"No one gets killed, I want that honor," Negan told them.
"I hate to be the devil's advocate," Sylvie started to say.
"No, you don't, you relish it," Negan told her. "Go on," he told her.
"How can you be sure that they will be out on the road? What if they hold up for a while? I mean D just tried to get them to take them back home. He just killed one of them. And, he threatened them. Any normal person would stay behind walls. And we know they have guns and food," Sylvie pointed out.
"We could always look for their community, can't be that hard to find," Arat said.
"If it wasn't that hard to find, we would have already found it now wouldn't we?" Dwight asked. "It's not like we haven't looked."
"It may take time, but we got time. These pricks are going to know not to mess with us," Negan said. "Sylvie, you're in charge while we go handle this shit."
Sylvie looked at him. "You know I hate being left in charge."
"Well, I know that you know how to keep shit straight," Negan told her.
"At least I won't have to use a bat to get my point across," Sylvie said with a forced smile.
"Everyone out," Negan said. "Except you Sylvie."
Sampson glanced at her before going out of the room.
"If you don't want me to run my mouth, then you shouldn't have me in these meetings," Sylvie told him.
"Arat thinks I should lock you down in the cells, maybe would teach you some manners," Negan told her.
"And what do you think?" Sylvie asked.
"I think if you don't learn some manners, I may have to make Sampson pay for it," Negan said.
"Negan," Sylvie hissed.
"Next time you want to run your mouth in front of others, that hubby of yours will lose a finger. You want to challenge me, do it when we are alone. I like it, I thrive on that shit. But do it alone, do you understand?" Negan asked.
"Yes, I understand," Sylvie said.
