He watched her as he walked closer, there was pools oh her blood around her hands and streaming down one of her legs, and as Kagome gave her medicine and bandaged her up. It was too close for him, again. He couldn't bring her back again, and she had already died twice while with him. He needed a new plan of action when it comes to her.
"Rin." She looked up, her tears had stained her face, but she looked happy to see him. "We need to talk about your future." He looked to Kagome. "You will no longer be with me. You will go to her time, and you will stay there until you know how to fight and protect yourself." He ordered her, and he saw her start to protest, but he turned, leaving her in the capable hands of the human girl his brother was keeping with him.
"Wait Sesshomaru... please, don't make me go back to a village." She started to beg and he felt her tug on his robes and he moved away quickly.
"Enough Rin. It is no longer my wish that you stay with me. I wish you to leave me, and this time. You may only come back when you are older and able to protect yourself." He told her, keeping his voice calm, indifferent. He felt his heart wince as he saw her tears once again rise in her eyes, and he moved to leave, calling on his animals and taking his leave as quickly as possible. He was sure Kagome would do as he wished.
He wanted Rin safe, to grow up without this kind of demonic land. He wanted her to grow up, stay safe, maybe find a husband and have little human runts of her own.
She needed to be moved into the future with Kagome. To grow up and learn things, and away from him.
His wishes were dealt with. Rin was taken through the Well, Kagome set her up in her room, and made sure that her mother knew what her life had been like and why she was brought through.
Rin would grow up with a slightly older brother, hearing about Kagome's travels when she did come and visit.
She celebrated all of her birthdays with cheerful singing, and went to school. She learned how to fight, how to use a sword, how to dance like a Geisha. She learned all traditional dances and women's roles. She read as much as she could, and she was grateful as always to the others around her that treated her like family.
The day after her 20th birthday, Kagome and InuYasha finally took her back to her real time. She got to the other side of the Well and was greeted by some familiar faces. not all of them.
No Sesshomaru. But what should she have expected after 12 years.
