Chapter 475

Authors Note: Ah vacation, finally. Not sure how much I'll be writing since I'm heading to Boston for a few days. Then I am going to Dry Tortugas for training. But there is no internet service down there, but I can write. I just have to write some of the dialogue from the episode. Please review.

Abraham, Eugene and Rosita's POV:

Abraham came in and walked over to the bed in the infirmary. "Rick's coming. How is he?"

"Bullet just grazed him, good thing we got him back when we did. Antibiotics we picked p could save him from an infection. Could save his life. That's what Denise did," Rosita said as Eugene coughed. "You here?"

"Present?," Eugene said.

"Good," Abraham answered.

"I'll get you some water," Beth said from where she was putting away medicine.

Rosita squeezed Eugene's hand as she walked away and left Eugene and Abraham a moment alone. "I was not trying to kill you, I was looking for a moment," he told him.

"You found it," Abraham told him.

Eugene looked at him. "Do you apologize for questioning my skills?"

"I apologize for questioning your skills. You know how to bite a dick Eugene. I mean that with the utmost respect. Welcome to stage two," Abraham told him.

"Don't need to welcome me, I've been here a while," Eugene said.

Beth brought a glass of water and some antibiotics over. "Everyone that is still alive has made it to the 2nd stage. Take the antibiotics, hopefully it will keep any infections from happening," she instructed as the door opened and Rick walked in.

"You all alright?" Rick asked.

"We are, Denise isn't," Daryl answered. "Jewel and Summer OK?"

"Jewel is shook, but that's to be expected. Summer is going out with Jes to get Denise's body," he said.

"You lettin' her?" Daryl questioned.

"She's a Dixon,"Rick simply answered. "Rosita, Bethie, you two alright?"

"Yeah, we're OK," Rosita answered.

"Thanks to Eugene," Beth answered.

Rick nodded as he kissed the side of Beth's head. "Eugene, thank you."

Eugene nodded. "I did what needed to be done."

"How bad is the wound?" Rick asked.

"It was just a graze, it could have been worse," Rosita said.

"They were Negan's men?" Rick asked.

"Yeah," Daryl said. "Jes and I ran into Dwight out in the woods a few weeks before. I should have killed him when I had the chance. He's still out there."

Rick nodded. "We'll deal with it."

"All of us," Abraham said.

Jewel, Sasha, Lexi and Jes POV:

Jes handed Enid, Sasha and Lexi extra guns. "Make sure everyone has extra rounds. Two get hid on every floor of each house."

"We sign them out?" Lexi asked.

"These are off record," Jes said.

"You think the Saviror's are going to come after us?" Enid asked.

"They will," Jewel said. "Don't know when but we haven't seen the last of them. We have to be ready."

"Did anyone get away?" Lexi asked.

"One," Jes answered. "Dwight. He ran back to Negan and bowed. That's what he said out there, that he wasn't going to bow anymore."

"Do you think Negan knows about us?" Lexi asked.

Jes and Jewel exchanged glances. "He knows," Jes answered. "He knows some more of our names. I'm taking a couple people out to get Denise's body."

"Is it safe?"Enid asked.

"Doesn't matter if it's safe or not, we can't leave her out there," Jes said.

"Whose going?" Sasha asked.

"Joey, Summer, Gus, Tobin and me," Jes answered. "I'll bring them back," she told Jewel.

"I have no doubt," Jewel answered. "We need more patrols. Enid, Lexi, you two mind being put on patrols."

"Of course not," Lexi answered.

"I'm going to go so we can get back by night," Jes said as she walked out.

"Be careful," Sasha answered.

I will," Jes responded.

Jes, Joey and Summer's POV:

Jes glanced around as Tobin and Gus loaded up Denise's body up in the truck. She walked over to Summer and Joey. "Whatever the two of you are thinking about doing, get it out of your mind."

Summer and Joey glanced at each other. "What do you mean?" Summer asked.

"You packed an extra backpack and extra weapons," Jes said.

"How did you see that?" Summer asked.

"I see everything," Jes answered.

"We're going to the Hilltop," Summer told her.

"Excuse me?" Jes asked. "Joey, you knew about this?"

"I knew better than try to talk her out of it," Joey answered.

"Jewel and Rick knows nothing about this, do they?" Jes questioned. "What in the world are you two thinking? After what just happened? You want to go to the Hilltop? Tell me why in the world you feel like you have to do this now."

Joey glanced at Summer. "You tell her."

"I told Gregory that he was going to regret it if I found out he didn't tell us everything. I've waited long enough," Summer answered.

Jes sighed as she shook her head. "Being reckless is something your Uncle Merle would do," she told her. "You expect me to go back to Alexandria without you Summer? Exactly what do you expect me to tell her and Rick?"

"The truth," Summer said.

"Oh, the truth huh? If it was that easy, you wouldn't have came out here and planned to let me tell them," Jes sighed. "Everything in me is screaming that I should make the two of you get in that car and go to Alexandria," she said.

"But you aren't going to," Joey said.

"You would find a way to sneak out and maybe this time she wouldn't have you with her. If Jewel kills me, I'm going to bite both of you," Jes warned them. "You be back tomorrow afternoon, or I'm coming after both of you."

"We will," Joey told her.'

"Be careful, be alert. You know what these people are capable of," Jes told them. "Stay to the back roads," she instructed. "You packed a gas can," she told them.

"We did," Summer said.

"Go before I change my mind,"Jes told them. "I'm riding in the back of the truck," she told Gus and Tobin.

Gus and Tobin watched them get in the car. "You think it's wise to let them go?" Tobin asked.

"It's not wise at all," Jes answered.

"Then why did you let her go?" Gus asked.

"Do you think I could have stopped her?" Jes asked. "That's why Joey went with her, he wanted to help watch her but he couldn't stop her," Jes said.

"What are you going to tell Jewel and Rick?" Gus asked.

"The truth, that she gets her stubborness honestly," Jes answered. "And when Dixon's make promises, they keep them."

"Do you think they'll by it?"Tobin asked.

"They'll by it, but it won't make them any less angry," Jes answered.
