Rin woke up at damns first light, hearing the birds sing, the animals of the village call out of food and other needs they had. She stood and stretched and moved to walk out of the hut as quietly as possible. She paused going down the stairs when she saw him on the other side of the walkway. He was against the tree, eyes cast towards her and he seemed to wait.

"Sleep well?" Sesshomaru asked and before he could stand and walk towards her, she turned, ignoring him yet again and he sighed. "I am sorry I was late to see your arrival. I had to get Jaken to my palace." He told her and she paused and thought about the other demon that had gone on so many travels with them.

"Why couldn't he come?" She paused but didn't turn, and Sesshomaru took the delay in movements and made sure that he was now standing in front of her.

"He was getting your quarters ready. I had assumed that you would come back there with me." Sesshomaru was no longer sure what her reaction would be, but a giggle wasn't on the top of the list. But it was what he got.

"You never asked about me did you Sesshomaru. You didn't wish to see me. You stopped caring the moment I was gone." She accused and she took a deep breath. "Why would I go and live with you? Why would you want me?"

"Rin I did ask. I wanted to know you were doing well and were safe." He was calm, his voice even and devoid of emotion as always.

"Don't seem so excited for me to be back. Don't become so overjoyed that you actually smile." She shook her head and turned her eyes away, tears rising, and she heard a shout and she turned just in time to dodge a rope being thrown at her. Her dagger was in her palm in less than a second and she sliced through the net that was thrown her way next from a tree. Sesshomaru watched her, letting her deal with this attack this time since she got so upset yesterday when he saved her.

He would only intervene when or if she really needed it. His hand rested on his sword just in case, she sliced through a net, dodged a few arrows, and stepped out of the way of a dagger being sent her way. Nothing sliced her skin, nothing caught her. She moved quick and fast, and when he only focused on her, he saw the grace in her movements, her hair moving out of the way and showing off her determination to fight. She learned a lot when he sent her away, she was a skilled fighter now. She was what he wanted her to be.

"Come out and face me." She shouted and Sesshomaru waited until he saw the wolf demons run out, the same ones who had killed her the first time. He sneered and moved closer to her, pulling his sword out, and he felt himself losing control.

"What has been said is true. You are a warrior of a different time. You shall marry me and lead our future children into the future." The man with a black pelt, green glowing eyes and no shirt came forward, his cocky attitude made Rin roll her eyes and she had to remember what Kagome had once said about this kind of man...well demon. Koga was the man Kagome dealt with, claiming her as if she were property, and she threw her hair behind her, held her head up, and she walked closer to him, noticing how Sesshomaru walked with her but just one step behind with his sword out and at the ready.

"What is your name?" She asked and she saw the twitch of Sesshomaru's sword as if he didn't believe she wanted to know something and not just tell him to get lost like she had done the day before.

"I am the leader of the wolf Demons, my name has traveled this lands for years, I am the son of Koga, my name is-"

"Leave." Sesshomaru stepped in front of her, she could feel his power swirling in the air, it took on the unnatural feeling just like that time a monk held onto her and she first saw what he truly looked like. "She is not your woman, she is not your future."

Rin saw the scared faces of the others around them. The human kids, the women, even some of the human men to their right seemed scared. Saving them from his power, Rin moved closer to him, making sure she felt his touch, and she moved in front of him, turning her body into his and waiting for him to look down at her. His eyes were red and blue, he had lost almost all control.

"Sesshomaru... calm down, focus on me." She whispered and gripped his sides. "Lord Sesshomaru... please."

"Step away from him Rin." The moment InuYasha shouted that, Sesshomaru hissed and grabbed her, holding her tight and then he lept. Basically flying high and before he could start the arch down, he used his powers to zip somewhere else. He was still all red eyes and claws when they landed on top of the water falls a few miles away.

"Lord Sesshomaru-"

"Rin, do not step away from me right now. Just... stay." He bowed his head, inhaling deep to calm himself down. His eyes were leaking back to their normal version. She figured deep breathing was what he needed, but really he needed her scent. He had kept her kimono after she left. Her scent had be something to calm him, something to make sure that he wouldn't run off to the future in the well and find her and bring her back into the danger.

"I could have handled him. All of them." She told him when he was finally completely calm.

"I will not let some wolf claim you in front of his entire pack. That is basically binding in their circles." He told her and shook his head slowly and moved to look around, at the view.

"And you took me with you here because?" Rin wanted to know why the waterfall and not somewhere else.

"A nice place to sit and talk. Tell me about your time away, from your own mouth, not from my little brother." He moved to sit on the grass and she stood there for a second before sitting across from him. Not touching, not really facing each other... but still looking as if they were talking.

"What would you like to know."

"Was it better?"
