"Look at those little teef." Hamish raised a brow and looked over at Vera as she held Theo. The babies bottom front teeth were starting to finally come in, just two little white things that made her look even more impossibly cute than she already was every time she smiled now. It also made her the greatest drooling machine ever, she slobbered more than a Saint Bernard at this point. So far Theo was remarkably calm on her first ever flight. Hamish had asked several times to just drive to New York but Vera had understandably not wanted to be trapped in a car with a baby for that long. Theo hated being restrained, she'd hate it even more for multiple days worth of driving. She'd made a good choice since Theo was digging the baby sling, even if she was still being restrained she was restrained against either Hamish or Vera and honestly in Theo's mind that was the best thing in the universe.

"Are you doing good Maddox? Need anything?" Vera asked the boy sitting in the window seat looking out over the wing of the plane and glancing back at his switch and empty cup of soda.

"No, I'm good." He got back to his game of Animal Crossing looking over to Theo. She was still mostly just sleeping, her head hanging back from the sling. So far on the flight she was the quietest and happiest baby on the flight but then again she was also the sleepiest baby on the flight. A little toddler a few rows up had spent the whole first half of the flight screaming while a much younger baby behind them had spent the second half of the flight mostly crying and Theo was too tired to care about what had them worried.

"What about you Vera, do you need anything?" Hamish asked her.

"A nap, your love, and a glass of champagne." Vera answered without even having to think about it.

"Well, the first one I guess once we get to New York can be done, the second one, every day always, and the last one, let me buzz a flight attendant." Unless it was one of those 'not right now but later' things because Vera had to time all alcohol consumption but seeing as Theo was particular and couldn't nurse with chaos going on around her he wasn't seeing the baby wanting to eat much until they got to his parents place.

"A really small glass of champagne." Vera added because she wasn't turning down a glass of champagne. "Though when we get to your parents place a bottle to myself might make this visit a lot nicer than I originally hoped for." She smiled at him and made him shake his head at her.

"Theo, your mother just admitted that your grandmother makes her want to get drunk."

"Ha, that's painfully obvious. Your sister is the one coming to the airport to pick us up right?" She looked at Hamish a little worried that viper who was playing a human would come crawling out from the shadows after a long flight and just sort of remove Vera from the family get together. Especially when it came to Theo his mother became rather possessive of the little girl as if Vera had fulfilled her only use of playing an incubator for a Duke grandchild and could now rightfully bugger off. How very unfortunate it must be to realize your only Duke grandchild's favorite person in the whole world was their 'unsanctioned' mother.

"Yeah, my sister said she would be the one picking us up from the airport alone."

"Okay, good. I need at least a small buffer between this long flight and dealing with your mother and the last thing Theo is going to want is being pulled away from us in a strange place and likely frightened and crabby." Hamish realized part of that was more Vera being uncomfortable with Theo being taken away from her in a strange place rather than Theo just not being okay with being away from her.

"She seems nice to me." Maddox shrugged his shoulders though really she didn't try to interact with him much. After all he wasn't even Vera's biological child so she had no real reason to try and be nice or mean to him. His new 'aunts' on the other hand had been far warmer and welcoming to Maddox saying he was basically their family too since Hamish and Vera were his legal guardians now. Though if you asked Vera she wouldn't tip toe around the subject, Maddox was just her son now and she treated him like one.

"Well she better be nice to you or else…" Speaking of Maddox being Vera's son, mama bear would get seriously set off if he wasn't treated fairly compared to the other kids or if he was picked at for being an orphan or not having any real family of his own to go to for the holidays because he was Vera's family now and she didn't take to people harassing her family, especially the little members of that family.

"Vera." Hamish tried to put on his 'listen to me for a second like I'm the boss.' voice. "Calm down." Hamish rested a hand on her knee hoping to settle her down before she started having sweet sweet dreams of witchy murder and plotting his mothers death before she'd even gotten the chance to say something stupid, recently to earn it. "You are going to frighten Maddox."

Maddox shrugged his shoulders and laughed a little. "Not really." She didn't need to say anything as she motioned her head towards Maddox since he proved her point that threatening others for his sake didn't bother him. His father had been Edward Coventry after all, compared to him Vera was a sweetheart.

"Okay then." Hamish nodded, "You are going to frighten me."

Vera clicked her tongue and held her head up high as she raised a brow. "Well, you are a passafict, and a softie." Not that Vera was all for violence but when you poked the bee hive eventually the queen bee was going to murder you.

"And you have become so much more aggressive since you had a baby." Hamish looked at her as she gave him a sideways glance. He was backpedaling silently right now as he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. "And so absolutely lovable and charming and…"

"Cut the bullshit Hamish." Vera looked at him with slight offense but not much because he was kind of right. Vera's aggression levels had raised a bit and she couldn't blame it on just being hormonal anymore. "And I'm not 'that' aggressive."

"Oh yes, no, all the disciples do not jump in mild terror at the sight of you because you have the most terrifying resting bitch face."

"I don't." Vera furrowed her brow again not really making a case for herself as she gave him her award winning death glare. It might have worked at intimidating the werewolf leader if he hadn't also known there was no way she would ever harm him and the fact she was utterly breathtaking when she was angry.

"We will be landing in half an hour, please remain seated while we begin our decent." The captain spoke over the intercom making Maddox look up with mild concern.

"Do I have to turn off my game now?"

"No, you can keep playing until they ask for all devices to be turned off and to put up your trays." Vera assured him he didn't have to sit here for the next half hour bored out of his mind. Theo started to wake up sensing the change in pressure in the cabin and looking around still trapped in the giant loud tube. Hamish couldn't even begin to imagine what this must have been like for the baby. When you couldn't explain anything to her as far as she knew this was just the world's strangest car ride. She looked around the cabin and then up to Vera opening her mouth and letting out a little yawn. Ah frick, her tiny bottom teeth were too cute.

Hamish reached over to Theo and tickled her cheek, "I can take her for a little bit." Mostly before they landed so he had Theo with him while Vera did her typical stress about every little thing. It meant she wouldn't have to worry about a baby on top of it. After this long of a nap Theo was going to be two things, hungry, and wanting to get down and play and not being able to do either of those things meant she would also become very fussy.

"Alright." Vera got Theo out of the baby sling and passed her over to Hamish who was all too happy to entertain her now that she was wide awake and looking around her. There was so much to see, so many strangers to look at and smile at. It was pretty nice feeling like your kid was virtually just a tiny cute unicorn that everyone smiled back at and thought was just a perfect little angel. If only they knew the truth, it only.

The rest of the flight was fairly uneventful and Vera even took a short nap after a very small glass of champagne. Hamish was just happy to see her get some rest, somehow she managed to have a hundred different jobs and time to do them all but very little time to actually sleep. It would be impressive if it wasn't also bad for her health. Plus Hamish would never say it out loud but Vera looked so sweet and innocent when she was sleeping. Hamish brushed a lock of her hair behind her ear and smiled at her as Theo started to battle off in her baby gibberish. "Shhh, Theo, you are going to wake her up." Wow, for the first time ever someone was scolding Theo for possibly waking someone up rather than someone being scolded for possibly waking Theo up. Theo just looked up at Hamish a little offended that he wasn't going to let her talk to her mom.

He could finally see the city out the plane window and the fasten seatbelt light blinked on with a ding as everyone started getting back into their seats. Vera woke up looking a little startled as if she'd had a nightmare, her eyes darting around as she realized where she was. "Oh, did I fall asleep?"

"For about fifteen minutes maybe. You needed it." Theo stuck her tongue out spitting all over the place as she made a motorboat sound.

"Really? Fascinating." Vera nodded her head with a furrowed brow as Theo just made random noises at her. "Looks like we are here." Vera glanced out the window and sat up a little. You could feel the plane starting to descend. Maybe a bit more noticeable to Hamish and Theo since both of them had more highly tuned senses and really his ears were popping like crazy. Once they were on the ground Hamish was first up with Theo punching into his chest as he gingerly tried to get their bags down from the overhead storage. He handed Vera's overnight bag to her which was really just emergency change of clothes in the event Theo threw up on someone. Grabbing his own bag he flung it onto his shoulder and put a hand over Theo's head as he followed the herd of people off the plane.

While Hamish passed a few people gave compliments over how precious and how cute Theo was. A few complimented that she was such a well behaved baby and the captain and the two flight attendants mentioned she was the most quiet baby they had ever flown with. Good thing she was still too little to have her ego be fed yet. Once off the flight Hamish got Vera and Maddox in front of him so he could keep an eye on them as they headed for the baggage claim. "I can't wait to just take a bath after that flight." Vera groaned and tried to massage a knot out of her neck. Despite having a backpack on his back and a baby on his chest Hammish still found the time to rub Vera's shoulders and kiss her on the neck.

"Well, I'll make sure to tell my sister you'd like to use the jacuzzi."

"Why the hell don't I have a jacuzzi?" Vera let out a heavy sigh. With her job that seemed like a necessity. Especially when she had to deal with parents complaining that their children didn't make the cut to get accepted into the university. Belgrave had a standard, money or not that had to be upheld. "Also text your sister to let her know we landed." Thank god they had invested in the baby sling so Hamish could actually accomplish that task without Theo grabbing his phone away from him. At the baggage claim Vera and Maddox decided to be the two in charge of grabbing their suitcases since Hamish already had Theo to deal with and right about now she was actually getting fussy and hungry.

"I know, you can get your nom on when we get to grandma's house." Theo whined as she threw her head back and gnawed on her hand, "I know Theo, it's rough. Just wait until you have to get locked down in the car ride." Luckily his sister still had a carseat that fit for Theo. It was the kind that adjusted to your child's rapid growth over the next three years which now that Theo was a sizable baby seemed like a good investment for them to make once they got home. As Vera started lining up their luggage Hamish's sister came into the airport instantly running for Vera and passing him by. She hugged Vera first before approaching him but mostly because he had theo. She didn't even ask before pulling Theo out of the sling and grabbing one of the bags.

"Welcome to New York you guys. Hope the flight was alright, hope this little angel wasn't too much trouble." She kissed Theo on the head as the baby whined again. "Also I hope you don't mind I just sort of came and took your baby."

Hamish laughed pointing to his sister and grabbing another bag. "Oh no, you have her now, you can buckle her up in the car seat for Vera now. She's going to appreciate it." Once they had all their bags they headed outside to the yellow hummer waiting outside. Maddox was fairly impressed by the big military grade vehicle but Vera loathed to admit she hated those things. To each their own she supposed. At least all their suitcases and bags fit in the back and Hamish called shotgun before Maddox could. Getting into the back seat Vera waited for Theo to get buckled up but as always she started having a meltdown in the back seat.

"I'll get it." Vera commented and was having more luck buckling her down before she brushed her hair behind her ear and smiled down at Theo at least calming down the baby a little.

"Why is she always alright with you buckling her up?" Hamish looked back utterly amazed that Vera had the ability to restrain that little monster where all others struggled.

"Because I'm right here beside her so she's okay. I'm sure if you were sitting back here with her she'd be alright with you buckling her up too. It's when she can't see either of us that she starts to panic." Theo acted like she was in another dimension when they were out of her sight, at least in the car. At home she could just roam around and look for them. "Personally I don't blame you Theo, I don't like people holding me back either."
