BP: It has been a while since I got to this fanfic. I was writing for three companies so I had been incredibly busy, so progress was slow. Sorry for the long wait.

"Give up. You're outnumbered, eight to one." Nine says to the girl. He looks over at all of us, who are all already in battle stances against the girl who has unsheathed her katana at us. Even Ella was showing her brave face against the threat in front of us. Sarah is hiding behind John, clearly knowing that she will not stand a chance. Bernie Kosar is also growling at the girl.
In response, the girl points her katana at us, clearly showing she has no intention of backing down.
"Then give me your best shot." The girl sneers. I secretly charge John's Xitharis with my Invisibility, and pass it to Ella. She doesn't need to be involved in this for now. I use her Telepathy to make her know that to hide with Sarah if possible.
Before we can even react, she shoots a dart at Bernie Kosar, who immediately yawns and falls asleep. She then snaps her fingers and the Chimæra is now settled safely under the table of the breakfast room.
"Now we can start." She says.
Four launches two fireballs at the girl, who blocks using an energy shield. I quickly turn invisible to get behind her, just as Marina and Eight charges towards her, clearly intending to get her from both directions. The girl narrows her eyes and runs up the walls, doing a flip off it and using the katana to strike down on Marina who pushes her off with telekinesis to throw her back into the air.
She responds by teleporting to the floor. Then, she slices Marina on the arm with her katana glowing purple. Marina quickly hides behind a couch as she starts healing her wound.
I go above her, about to strike her head, but she grabs me and throws me to the wall. I hit my back and slide down, not expecting this development. How did she even see me when I'm invisible? But at least she is not after Marina again.
The girl waves her katana, blowing back Eight and Nine, before slicing aside the fireballs Four launches at her. Nine charges with his Pipe Staff, and the girl bends down before sweeping her katana upwards into him and blowing him back, throwing him into a wall as well, but he uses his Anti-Gravity Legacy to steady himself.
I strike from behind again, and she ducks. It was clear she is able to sense me somehow despite my Legacy. John launches a volley of fireballs, which she stops with telekinesis and turns it into orange roses. John looks surprised at this feat.
Eight charges the girl, who tries to stab at him, though he hooks his arm around hers to flip the girl, who uses the momentum to in turn flip Eight into the air and separate him from Marina. The girl tries to slip a blade through Eight, but Nine manages to get to him first and blocks the attack with the Pipe Staff.
Both of them meet in a brief clash as the girl makes multiple strikes which Nine blocks as she grins and swings the katana, though Four steps in front and blow the girl backwards with telekinesis, though she backflips to land safely.
Eight teleports from above to strike her, only for her to sidestep it. Nine anticipates this, however and got to her via Super Speed, and grabbing her by the arms and throwing her to Marina, who gets her in a chokehold.
Marina tightens her hold, but suddenly starts to foam at the mouth, as she collapses. This gives her the opportunity to punch Marina aside, sending her flying across the room.
"Marina!" I shout. "What happened?"
"She must have been poisoned!" John shouts, aiming a kick at the girl, who blocks it easily.
The girl takes out a make-up compact powder and blows it to cover the entire lobby, and as we cough from the irritation in our throats, she charges towards me. I look down, and realize I was visible again.
During the distraction, she cuts Eight on the legs and kicks him aside, and I gasp as something above shimmers. Floating above Eight is the receptionist counter and several couches and she makes a gesture, using them to crush Eight before he can even teleport away. Nine rushes to try and help Eight while John and I nod at one another to get the girl.
John uses telekinesis to disarm the girl, while I turn invisible once more. It was a shame that we are fighting inside. If we were outside, I could have used the weather to my advantage. The girl does not seem fazed at having her katana taken, as John fires a volley of fireballs which she is forced to run around to dodge. I grin, as this was an opening to her throat. As I strike…
I gasp, as Ella is now in her place. Ella's eyes look frightened as my hand stops mere inches from her throat. How?
"Give it up." The girl says, grabbing Ella in a chokehold. "Or say goodbye to both of them." She indicates a knocked-out Sarah, who has blood running down her forehead. She steps on Sarah's throat.
"Six…John, help me!" Ella cries.
"Sarah!" John tries to get near Sarah, but is stopped by a telekinetic force, like me. Even Nine stops getting the couches off Eight to stare in horror at the scene.
"How could you do this?" I shout at the girl. "We're fellow Loric, like you!"
"Does it matter?" The girl shrugs. "What you should know is that I will do it. So it's best you surrender." She tightens her arm on Ella's throat, and Ella starts choking.
"Ok, fine!" John yells, holding his hands up. I do the same, knowing in the girl's eyes she can and will follow up with her threat. She smiles malevolently, and throws something that wraps around us, the spheres at the ends of the ropes locking into place. We fall to the ground, tied up. The girl also lets go of Ella, but ties her up with the same mechanism she uses on us.
Something about these binds supresses our Legacies, so we cannot use them, no matter how hard I try. Even our Enhancements as Lorics are supressed, so using Super Strength to break them is a no go.
"Like it? It's an invention from Phillip Robinson." The girl smirks. "Extra durable, like the locks in our Chests."
"Could you at least let me heal Eight?" Marina pleads weakly, looking at the badly injured Eight. Instead of answering, the girl walks over and drags Eight and Marina to our side, crouching down to them. She places her hands over Eight, and to our surprise, she closes the wounds, healing Eight from his injuries.
She then turns to Marina, and places her hands over her, extracting the poison from Marina. Marina vomits out the poison, as she gets a plastic bag seemingly out of nowhere to collect the vomit. She then looks at Sarah with contempt in her face, before sighing silently and healing her too.
She waves her hand, and everything went back in place, back into its original condition. It is almost as if the fight never happened in the first place. She takes the Loric Chests that belongs to Four, Seven, Eight and Nine and places it in her bag. She then takes Bernie Kosar and places him on her lap.
"Don't worry, the sedative will wear off." She says to an angry John.
She then speaks into the comm in her ear.
"Yes, about the report of the group in Oklahoma, they have been successfully apprehended. Awaiting next order." She says.
"Good work, Noel." A female voice was heard. "Stay at your location, we will pick you and the group momentarily and load them into the next transport."
"Hey! What's going on?!" Nine demands, but she ignores him as she sheathes her katana.
"Roger, Lieutenant." The girl apparently named Noel replies. "I shall make sure they stay put."
She then turns off her communication, as Marina says incredulously, "Your name is Noel?"
"Is that the question you want to ask?" Noel shot her a funny look, like she has grown a second head.
Nine shouts, "Are you working for the Mogs? The FBI?"
"No and no." Noel replies, conjuring up a book to read. The title was The Kindaichi Case Files. My guess is that it is a detective manga.
Well, at least she is willing to answer questions now that we are tied up. Must be because she is safe in the knowledge that we cannot attack.
"How could you do this?" Marina pleads with her.
"Technically, you stalked me, so I only fought back." Noel points out. "Also, I cannot let you ruin the life that I worked so hard to gain now, can I?"
"What do you mean?" Eight frowns.
"I want out of this war against the Mogs." Eleven shrugs.
"Why?" Nine is puzzled.
"I don't like Lorien, honestly." Noel says thoughtfully. "Neither do I like you very much."
"Trust me, we share the same sentiments." I reply dryly.
"Anyway, your stalking of me made things easier. After all, the Mogs are going to invade Earth next, so…" She trails off suggestively.
"Is that why you're capturing us?" Marina asks. "You're basically preventing us from fighting back, like the Mogs would do."
"Obviously, you guys need some work on your teamwork." Noel replies. "With only this number, you obviously are not ready to fight the invasion."
"But we can do this together!" John replies. "If we just combine our…"
"You're so ready to take on the whole population of Mogs, when you can't even take on a fellow Loric by yourselves." She cuts him off, sarcastic.
"Hey!" Nine starts to protest, but the girl cuts him off again.
"It's perfectly true." Noel says cynically. "And you're dragging a little girl who can't even fight and some human girl who is probably the princess to someone's prince into this?"
As I open my mouth to retort, I see the look on Ella's face. She looks sad that she is unable to contribute more, although she is only twelve. Sarah blushes at the insult, and says, "I joined the fight by choice."
"And what's your role? Sit there and look pretty?" Noel asks bitingly.
"I'll do anything for John!" Sarah shoots back. "Unlike you, who won't do anything to save your home."
"Ah, the power of love you see in fairy tales." Noel rolls her eyes. "Cute, but it's not going to help you in the long run, Sarah Hart."
"How did you know my name?" Sarah asks, surprised.
"I read your mind." She simply states, smiling sardonically. "You all were too predictable, only sticking to your signature Legacies."
'That's why she was able to take all of us down.' I think bitterly. 'She must have been raised with a military mindset.'
"Well, it could be worse." Noel remarks, twirling a magician wand. "It could be Amelia Guth you are up against."
Nine and I gasp, and the others turn to us.
"You recognize the name?" John asks, confused.
"Yes." I explain. "Amelia Guth, daughter of Anna Guth, who is the leader of Quarantine. Everyone calls her Amy though. She's also known as America's Sweetheart. The whole country adores her for her looks and her musical performances."
"How did you know all this?" Eight questions, giving me a look.
"Her information came up when I searched for possible Garde." I explain. "She has been involved in some dangerous stuff that is noteworthy. Like the one time…"
"Is she a Garde?" Nine asks Noel, cutting me off. I glare at him, but say nothing.
"Erm, no. She's completely human. But she has Legacies of sorts." Noel waves her hand.
"Meaning?" Marina is puzzled.
Noel opens her mouth to respond, but a honking distracts her. "Perfect timing. They are here. We can explain once we get to our destination." The door to the lobby opens, and a young man that does not look much older than us walks towards us, his demeanour stern. He was tall with black hair and lavender eyes. I can safely describe him as very handsome, in an aristocratic yet casual way.
Noel stands stiff and salutes him as soon as he appears. It is clear this man holds some power in the organization Quarantine.
"Good work, Noel." The man says, ruffling her on the hair. There is a little bit of Japanese accent about him. He must have been her Cêpan. He then lifts all of us with telekinesis and we are left floating towards a van. Wait, since when can Cêpan use Legacies?
We exchange looks as he brings us in, and sits us gently on the benches. Noel scrambles after him, carrying a sleeping Bernie Kosar and into the van as well. I am placed between Sarah and John and Noel sits next to Nine. The man himself sits next to Ella, as he closes the van doors.
"Shion, drive." The man orders.
"Yes, Shiki!" the driver Shion says, and she starts driving. A divider also comes up between the driver and our section, at least giving us some privacy. Shiki places headphones and starts playing a game from his 3DS. Noel does the same, except she reads her manga.
"Where do you think they're taking us?" Sarah asks quietly.
"I'm gonna go with jail." Eight grumbles.
"I still can't believe that Eleven took us out like it was nothing." Marina whispers.
"I guess now we see what members of Quarantine are capable of." I mutter.
"Please, you haven't seen the higherups yet." Noel is apparently listening to us. "Like my caretaker Shiki and Sweet Amy for instance."
"You mean that America's Sweetheart, Amelia?" I ask.
"You don't think she is just America's Sweetheart, do you?" Noel scoffs. "You apparently didn't dig deep enough into the history of court cases involving her. Many a times, she was accused of assault towards other children or adults. But they always acquit her."
"Because of lack of evidence?" Marina questions.
"Pfft. You can say that. Another reason is that they see her as incapable of using the weapon in question. She was just too adorable to convict, if you know what I mean. She even gets special treatment during court." Noel rolls her eyes.
"Any examples?" Sarah asks.
"For instance, if she's hungry during court sessions, the judges would always get the bailiff to get food for her. They had ten minutes, or they are fired." Noel says. "I grew up watching Amy get hauled off to court, and come back full and happy."
"Can that be a Legacy? Maybe she is exuding some pheromones, I mean." Marina wonders.
"No, it's just her sheer charm. Even as an infant, animals follow her like iron to a magnet. Nothing to do with Legacies." Noel answers. "To be fair, she gets acquitted because sometimes they accuse her of the supernatural- controlling ghosts to carry out the murder."
"Ghosts!" Nine echoes. "They don't exist!"
"Don't ever say that in front of Amy. Chances are the ghost animals would hear you and who knows what they'll do." Noel sighs in annoyance. "I've seen enough of those unexplainable pranks to believe they do exist."
"Did the Mogs ever go after you?" John asks curiously, since those cases may have made the papers.
"They tried to go for Amy, since they feel that ghost communication may be some sort of Legacy. They failed, though." Noel waves it off. "She has a very protective mother, and our Lieutenant's way of raising her was…unorthodox, to say the least."
"How so?" I ask her.
"You might see once we get there." Noel shrugs.
"I…see?" Ella replies, quite confused about the whole thing.
"I thought Anna was banned from adopting a child, seeing as the UN sees her as a threat to children." I say.
"Except Anna recruited Shiki, which is what you may call my Cêpan." Noel replies, sighing.
"Wait, Shiki Kurobane, the best Defense Attorney that is Japan-born?" John exclaims, turning to the young man playing video games.
"Yeah. Apparently, he found a loophole in their orders, and on Anna's birthday, he got her an infant Amy as a birthday present. Kind of like when you gift pets to children for their birthdays, you know." Noel shrugs. "The UN was really angry, but they couldn't do anything."
The van finally makes it up to what looked like a very grand mansion where next to it was a large paradise for animals, and Marina looks out the front window in awe.
"Whoa, it's gorgeous!" Ella admires.
Ella's comment causes John and Marina to leave their seats and look out the window with her.
"Don't let that fool you." Noel says.
"This isn't the police station." I frown.
"It's the HQ of Quarantine." Noel explains. "Our living quarters, so to speak." The van parks at the entrance of the HQ and we are met by a pair of guards, who open the van's rear double doors to everyone exit. We all gaze up at the HQ while Noel and Shiki takes either side of us to lead us in. Noel is still carrying Bernie Kosar, cradling him on her chest.
Four (John)
The entrance hallway is what you might see in a high-class hotel. Inside was white with gold lining, and a light red carpet adorning the floors. A gold chandelier was hanging high above us, and I suspect there are diamonds lining it as well. Elevators await the end of the hallway, and off to the side was a set of spiral stairs. Ella couldn't stop staring at everything. We all feel out of place, considering our battle-worn clothes.
I swear I hear a harp playing somewhere as well.
We find ourselves riding a rising elevator inside the HQ with our wrists still restrained, accompanied by Shiki and Noel. The elevator reminds me of the one Nine has in his former home in the John Hancock Center. Except the walls of this elevator are made of crystal so we can watch the people on the ground floor shrink to ants as we shoot up.
"What do we do?" Six asks me.
"I don't know yet. But we should be careful." I whisper.
Shiki gives us a look as if to say, "We're not deaf, you know."
"We'll follow your lead, John." Marina whispers. Noel gives a look that clearly said she heard that.
I smile but then wonder what I should even tell whoever we are going to meet. The elevator dings as it arrives at its destination, and the two of them escort us out into a hallway with white walls trimmed in icy blue. We arrive in a circular common room just as a woman walks out.
She has brown-blonde hair and piercing platinate blue eyes and is wearing casual military uniform. I recognize her as the commander of Quarantine, Anna Guth.
"I swear, those idiots are wasting more of our funds than our competitors." She muttered. She is accompanied by a girl with long black hair and amethyst eyes who exudes pheromones. Although I know Sarah is my girlfriend, something about her face seemed sexy. I have to admit curves do help with her sweet image. It helps that the girl herself is accompanied by a bunch of animals.
Bernie Kosar wakes up at this point, and leaps off Noel's arms, bounding towards the strange girl.
"Why, hello there." The girl says, upon spotting Bernie Kosar, lifting him up. Bernie Kosar enthusiastically licks her, as she laughs. "Aren't you just the cutest?"
Shiki clears his throat, catching Anna's attention, causing her to stop and look. Anna steps to beside the girl holding Bernie Kosar and looks at us. Nine leans in and holds up hid bound wrists, waving his fingers.
"Can someone give us a hand with these?" He asks.
The girl gasps at the bound wrists and turns to Noel. "Noel, must you be so rough with them?"
"In my defense, they followed me." Noel replies, folding her arms.
"You're more violent than anyone else, Amy." Shiki remarks.
"My darling Amy won't hurt a fly unless she has to." Anna claims.
"Whose fault was it?" Shiki shoots at Anna.
"I taught her to stand up for herself." Anna puffs out her chest, placing a hand on it. "But Shiki, do take those off them."
"Alright, alright." Shiki comes over to us, and begin removing the special handcuffs from everyone's arms, while Amy smiles.
"Please, come in." Anna says. She opens a door to an office, and we walk in. I can see that the meeting room was high-tech, as it is complete with computerized talking walls, electronic maps showing the movements of troops in various countries and a giant rectangular table with control panels.
"So, we meet at last." Anna says.
"Our reception didn't really convey that we were welcome." Marina rubs her wrist.
"I sincerely regret how you were treated by Noel." Anna replies. "She was ordered to only act in self-defense."
Nine rolls his eyes with a huff. Noel shoots him a nasty glare in return. Anna walks to the head of the table to sit down, and Shiki and Amy take positions sitting on either side of her. Amy was still cuddling a happy Bernie Kosar, with a Siamese cat sitting on top of her head.
"Do take a seat." Anna gestures, and we do.
"When Noel reported to be about her being followed, it raised some…red flags. We assumed that she was being followed by someone working for the Mogs. So I ordered her to apprehend whoever it was to get information." Anna explains.
"Stalking?" Marina laughs awkwardly. "We weren't stalking her…"
"You were following me." Noel deadpans.
"Okay, yeah, we were stalking her. Though she was a potential Garde, so…" I trail off.
"Seems reasonable." Shiki replies, tapping a finger on his cheek thoughtfully.
"I suppose I understand." Eight nods.
"But I cannot believe that she was able to take all of us down!" Nine complains, pointing to Noel who is sitting next to him.
"Ah, that is because she is raised by Shiki, whom we unofficially call the Ultimate Swordsman." Anna smiles. "Anyway, I asked her to bring you here because I believe you have some important information for us that's confidential."
"About the Chests." Amy chimes in.
"And about Lorien and what brings us to this invasion." Shiki adds.
"You told them?" Six turns to Noel, who shrugs.
"Did you really think you were the only one who gets to have special powers? With Noel's unique Legacy, we need a new plan. So yes, Noel told us what she can remember."
"What's so unique about her Legacy?" Eight questions.
"Well, I only have one single Legacy. I will never be able to receive another Legacy like you. But I can make this Legacy do a bunch of different things through my imagination." Noel explains. "It can also be spread to humans. So let's say if I hit an ordinary human with the raw form this Legacy, that person would have the same Legacy as well."
"So all of you…" Six makes a little gesture with her finger, connecting Anna, Shiki and Amy.
"Yes, we were hit with the Legacy at one point, by different people." Anna confirms. "We are perfectly human."
"What's it called?" Ella asks curiously.
"Aura Manipulation." Noel answers.
"Does it mean Sarah can get this too?" I blurt out, as Sarah has a hopeful look.
"It's not to be taken lightly, John Smith." Noel cuts in. "The chances of survival for a normal human is less than five percent. Even if you survive, you may be crippled for life. The people in this organization were simply lucky to emerge unscathed."
"I wouldn't risk it. Most of us got hit by accident or during a scuffle." Shiki adds, giving Sarah a disapproving look.
"Although I wouldn't mind crippling you." Noel gave a bloodthirsty grin. It is like the smile Nine may make before killing Mogadorians.
"Noel!" Amy frowns. "Don't offend our guests!"
Sarah bites her bottom lip, and nods. The others glare at Noel for her remark, while I shoot Amy a thankful look.
"Until now, we believed it was impossible to truly turn the tide against the Mogs. We didn't have much information on them, we were just trying to keep a low profile so they won't hunt us. After all, they are hunting Garde because of their supernatural powers." Anna goes on.
"You don't have to like us to work together." Amy says, smiling. "Just know that we are on the same team."
"But how can you be sure we can trust you?" Six asks, sceptical.
Amy blinks at me, and I find myself mesmerized by her eyes. In her eyes shows the truth and something about her makes me sure she will not backstab us. Bernie Kosar is also giving me the beagle puppy eyes.
"Alright, we can trust you." I hear myself murmur.
"Johnny!" Nine is incredulous, but I stop him.
"After all, if Bernie Kosar trusts her, I am sure we can too." I go on. "And she did defend Sarah."
"Of course." Noel rolls her eyes.
"Just as you all have been entrusted with the Loric knowledge, I need you all to trust us. We need to have a plan before we can even take on the Mogs." Anna looks relieved that I decided to trust them.
"But first step, we need to train them." Shiki says to Anna. "Until they are up to standards."
"Does it include the little girl?" Noel asks coolly, nodding towards Ella.
"Yes." Shiki says. "We can just put her through an accelerated training regime. With her physical enhancements, she should be able to handle it."
Anna nods, and checks her watch. Apparently, she has a schedule to upkeep. "Well, if you want anymore answers, I'm afraid you would have to ask during dinner. I'll leave them in your hands then, Noel." With that, she sweeps out of the room, followed by Shiki, Amy and her entourage of animals. She takes Bernie Kosar with her, not that he minds.
Noel turns to us and says, "I'd like to sincerely apologize for the miscommunication. I really feel bad for attacking you guys."
"I understand. You were just following orders." Marina smiles weakly. It is clear we are still on edge after Noel's remark towards Sarah.
"I mean, you could have asked us some questions first." Eight frowns.
"Well, we're all on the same team now." Ella says, giving a grin.
"Come on. Let me show you around as I lead you to your rooms." She walks away in a formal manner, and we follow her. She leads us through various hallways, chatting about each of the rooms.
"So that way's Amy's personal playground, and that way is the training rooms. Over there is…a music room that belongs to Amy." Noel explains objectively.
"Why does she need so many rooms?" Ella wonders.
"Let's just say as a kid, Amy was spoilt a lot. After a certain incident, our Lieutenant did not let her play outside for a long time, so the playground was built. Also, her mother keeps buying things for her." Noel replies. "But the music room did well for her, since she became the idol Pakura Ameyuri."
"This all looks great. But where are we staying?" Eight yawns.
"As the most well-funded organization, you'll all get your own room." Noel replies.
'How many rooms do you even have?' I think. Not even Nine's penthouse is as grand.
"So what was the incident?" Marina asks curiously, since Six and Noel have alluded to it.
"If you want to find out, there's newspapers at the library. It happened around ten years ago. It frightened her mother enough to order one member to stay near her at all times, even indoors." Noel answers, scratching her head. "I myself can't remember a lot because I was only a kid at that time. What I do remember is that Amy didn't return home for a few days and no one slept at all during that time. When Amy returned, she wasn't the same after that."
"I guess if it happened a decade ago, only our late Cêpans would know." I conclude.
"All of them are dead, aren't they?" Noel gives a wry smile.
"Except yours, apparently." Nine says, referring to Shiki.
"Ah no, actually Shiki isn't my original Cêpan." Noel says without elaborating, as we reach the rooms. "Well, pick any room you like. They are all furnished with highly-advanced technology, thanks to our technological genius, Phillip. You'll meet him soon enough. I will alert you guys when it's meal time."
I choose a room, and find that the room serves as both a sitting room and bedroom, and a private ensuite bathroom with hot and cold running water. Not only that, the room is plush and has many automatic gadgets that I am sure I won't have time to press all the buttons. The shower alone has a panel with more than a hundred options for water temperatures, pressure, soaps, shampoos, scents, oils and massaging sponges.
Stepping out on a mat also activates a heater that comes to blow-dry your body. A closet is also designed to fit any taste.
Each room also has a memo pad, a vase of roses, and some wooden furniture, including a bed, desk, a chair, a round table, and a shelving unit. A computer is also readily available for us. The way the room is layout, it gives room for decoration yet keeps the high-class status of the HQ.
I peel off my dirtied clothes and take a hot shower, wondering when is the last time I can finally relax. The fight with Setrákus Ra seems a long time ago. I dress in a dark green shirt and beige pants, deciding to explore around the area. After all, it won't hurt to investigate, would it?
When I exit the room, I walk towards the elevator, wondering if they have a directory for which rooms are on which floors. They do, and I see a crayon scribbled sign that says, "Polar Bear enclosure!" with a crude drawing of a polar bear head. Must have been drawn by some kid, likely Amy.
'Do they really have polar bears?' I decide to walk towards the arrow indicated at the sign. As I walk, I feel colder and I can even see my breath. I light up a fireball to keep myself warm, and find a door that has a picture of a Polar Bear on it. I open the door, and I find loads of polar bears wandering around the icy area.
"Ah you found the polar bear enclosure?" Amy's mild voice ring out from behind me.
"Oh, Amelia." I greet her.
"Amy would do. That's what everyone calls me." Amy replies sweetly.
When she appears, all the polar bears stop what they are doing, and charge towards her. They tackle her, licking her face. It is apparent that they are all excited to see her.
"Aw, love you too!" Amy says, hugging the polar bears. The animals that are with her have looks of jealousy, even Bernie Kosar, who turns into a form of a polar bear to blend in.
"How did you even acquire them?" I ask. After all, polar bears are only found in the North Pole or the zoo or something.
"I don't know. I always buy those plushies you see in stores, and they turn out to be real." Amy says, hugging a baby polar bear to her chest. "Do you want to hold this?" She holds out the baby polar bear to me.
"Er…sure." I say, as Amy hands it over to me. From my Animal Telepathy, I can tell this is a male polar bear, and it is born recently. He seems to be content on where he is. I smile at its sheer cuteness.
"How do you even fit all these polar bears?" I ask. After all, one room does not seem enough.
"The room is bigger than it looks. Want to come in and see?" Amy offers.
"No thanks." I decline. "I'll freeze."
Amy pushes me in anyway, and I see that the room was as large as a big-sized house, practically. It might be a dimensional magic or a Legacy relating to it. I wonder just who is able to build a room like this. I immediately start to shiver in the cold, as even my fire fizzles out.
On the other hand, Amy does not seem cold, despite her not wearing a long-sleeved shirt. Amy tosses me a thick jacket, and I nod in thanks. As she gives me a bucket of food to help feed the polar bears, I decide that Amy and her team is even weirder than my own group of fellow Garde. She doesn't seem to be freezing under this kind of temperature!
My thoughts are interrupted when we hear a scream.
BP: The scenes are inspired by the scenarios I have discussed with N. Aepic Fael. It's usually what would happen if PAL/Genesis (from Pokémon) were ordinary people- or extraordinary people living in the real world. This was just one of the outcomes.
I don't want to go to the main plot immediately mainly because well, the Garde need their rest and they need to work out on their alliance before doing anything. They were already tired from their fight with the Mog Leader and Noel after all.
Hopefully my rewrite is better than the previous version.
