Chapter 492

Author's Note: I should be doing Carol, Morgan and the rest of the group, but I'm going to go back to them. I just want this line up done. I know what's going to happen, we all do. I don't want to, and I CRIED like a baby when Glenn died. I was actually in the hospital for my depression, the only girl, and a group of us were watching it and I cried. The next week I was like I'm watching it on my Kindle in my room where I won't be judged. So I'm putting a lot of this in Jewel's POV because well she's Jewel and she'd do anything to protect her people. I don't read the comics, but I heard that he said he wasn't going to kill Sophia, because she was a kid or something. I think he'd be different to Lexi then to Carl. And poor Summer, yeah she's been tortured enough. But hey, Negan hasn't met our family yet. Please review.

Jewel glanced over to Daryl, then Maggie wanting to move to help them but knew she couldn't. She saw the fear in her families' eyes and glanced at Summer, who was holding her injured hand.

"Alright, we've got a full boat. Let's meet the man," the main savior said as he knocked on the RV door.

They all looked up as the door to the RV opened. Jewel couldn't help but notice Summer lowering her head more, which made Jewel sit up straighter. She was scared, just like the rest of them, but she was sitting between two of her kids and she was going to protect them, and everyone else if she could.

"Pissing our pants yet?" the man in the leather jacket questioned as he stepped out of the RV. He stepped closer, walking in front of the lineup. "Boy do I have a feeling we're getting close. Yeah, it's going to be pee pee city here real soon. Which one of you pricks is the leader?" the man asked as he pointed to each of them.

Jewel glanced down at Rick before the other man pointed at Rick.

"It's this one, he's the guy," the other man said.

Jewel watched as the man in the leather jacket walked closer to Rick. "We both are the leaders," she said.

"Mom," Summer and Carl both said as the man walked down and looked at Jewel.

"D, is this Jewel?" he asked the man she had a run in with the day before.

"Yeah, that's her," Dwight answered.

"So these two are yours? Damn, you must have had her when you were twelve. I think you are telling me the truth that you both are leaders, but I think that prick is the main leader. I'll be back don't you worry sweetheart," Negan told her. Negan laughed as he saw her glare at him. "Your daughter did the same thing when I called her sweetheart," he said as he walked back to Rick. "Hi, you're Rick right? I'm Negan. And I do not appreciate you killing my men. Also when I sent my people to kill your people for killing my people, you killed more of my people," he said as he pointed at Rick. "Not cool. Not cool," he said as he shook his head. He looked over to the group. "You have no idea how not cool that shit is. But, I think you're going to be up to speed shortly," he said as Rick looked up at him.

Jewel took a breath casting a glance at Rick, willing him to be calm.

"Yeah, you are so going to regret crossing me in a few minutes," Negan said as he started to grin. "Yes you are. You see Rick whatever you do no matter what you don't mess with the New World Order. The New World Order is this and it's really very simple. So even if you're stupid, which you may very well be, you can understand it. You ready? Here it goes, pay attention," he said as he lowered the bat and started swinging it slightly, making Rick move slightly and move his head. "Give me your shit or I will kill you," he said with a grin. "Now Summer over there already has seen this in action, so she knows what to expect. Today was career day, we invested a lot so you would know who I am. And what I can do," he said as he walked in front of Rick over to Maggie, then Abraham, Michonne, the he pointed the bat at Rick again. "You work for me now. You have shit, you give it to me. That's your job," he said. "Now I know that is a mighty big nasty pill to swallow," he said as he looked around the group, Lexi starting to cry softly. "But swallow it you most certainly will. You ruled the roost, you built something," he said as he got into Rick's face, Rick looking up at him. "You thought you were safe, I get it, but the word is out," he said as Beth and Glenn both kept their eyes Maggie. "You are not safe, not even close. In fact you are pegged, more pegged if you don't do what I want. And what I want is half your shit. And if that's too much for you, you can make, find or steal more and it'll even out sooner or later. This is your way of life now. The more you fight back the harder it will be. So if someone knocks on your door, you let us in," he said with a small laugh as he walked past Daryl, Beth, Rosita and Joey. He then started walking the other way again. "We own that door. You try to stop us and we will knock it down," he said as he pointed the bat in Rick's face. "You understand?" he waited and put his hand up to his ear bending toward him. "What?" he asked whispering. "No answer? You don't really think that you were gonna get through this without being punished now did you?" he asked as he stepped back from the group. "I don't want to kill you people, I just want to make that clear from the get go. I want you to work for me. You can't do that, if you're dead, now can you?" he said with a smile. "I'm not growing a garden, but you killed my people, a whole damn lot of them, more then I'm comfortable with. And for that, for that you're gonna pay. So now, I'm going to beat the wholy hell out of one of you," he said as Lexi started crying more. "Hey sweetheart, it's alright, I know it's scary, and you weren't part of it. You are probably the only one safe here," he told her before going back to Rick. He turned the bat around so that the handle was pointed at Rick. "This is Lucille, and she is awesome."

Jewel saw Glenn move slightly forward, taking a breath afraid what the maniac with the bat would do.

"All this, all this is just so we can pick which one of you gets the honor," Negan said as he moved in front of Maggie and Abraham. Abraham sitting taller.

"Abraham," Jewel mouthed as she took a breath.

"Huh, I got to shave this shit," Negan said as he rubbed down his face and looked at Abraham. He walked down to Summer, Jewel and Carl. "You got one of our guns," he said to Carl, as he bent down in front of him. "You got a lot of our guns. Shit kid, lighten up, at least cry a little, like the girl over there. Now that's the reaction I expect.

"Leave him alone," Jewel said as she looked at him.

Negan looked at Jewel. "You're protecting your cubs, I get it," he said as he looked at Carl then down at Rick and laughed as he got up. He stopped in front of Maggie. "Jesus. You look shitty. I should just put you out of your misery right now," he said as he raised the bat.

"NO!" both Glenn and Beth yelled. Glenn running to get to her, Dwight pulling him back.

"Stop it!" Maggie yelled as Abraham grabbed her.

Dwight shoved Daryl's crossbow in Glenn's face. "Nope," Negan said. "Get him back in line," he ordered as Dwight pulled him back.

"No don't," Glenn said as Joey put his hand on Glenn's arm trying to calm him down. "Don't," Glenn begged.

Jewel closed her eyes taking a breath before looking at each of the people's faces.

Negan laughed. "Alright, listen, don't any of you do that again. I will shut that shit down, no exceptions. First one's free, it's an emotional moment, I get it," he said as he pointed at Glenn. "Sucks don't it?" he asked Rick. "Moment you realize you don't know shit," he said as he pointed the bat in Carl's direction and grinned. "That's your kid, right?" he asked with a laugh. "This is definitely your kid. So you're his step mom or something? And Rick there is Summer's step dad."

Jewel looked up at him. "Carl's my son, just as much as if I gave birth to him. I'd die for him. Just like Rick would die for Summer."

"Stop this!" Rick yelled.

Jewel glanced over and took a breath.

"Hey! Do not make me kill the little future serial killer," Negan warned as he saw Jewel sit up straighter. "Damn, I think she would die for him. Don't make it easy on me. I got to pick somebody. Everybody's at the table waiting for me to order," he said as he started whistling.

Jewel followed him down the line with her eyes, sitting straighter. "Pick me," she said, softly. "Pick me!" she said louder.

"NO!" Daryl, Rick, Summer, and Carl all yelled out.

Negan walked over to her and bent down. "Now Simon, I do think this is a first, someone volunteering to meet Lucille. Now I get it, these two are your kids, and yeah you got your claws out, and you're with the prick over there, but why would you volunteer for the rest of these assholes?"

Jewel refused to back down as she looked at him. "These people are my family and if killing me lets them get on their way and you satisfied for the loss of your men, then be it. There's people here that need attention, my daughter, my brother, the woman who is as much as a sister to me as anyone. You want blood, I get it. Just don't make my kids watch, including Lexi. Send them on the RV. They've seen enough, they don't need to see this."

"Mom, no!" Summer yelled.

Negan looked at Jewel, not sure what to think of her. "You're not scared of dying are you?"

"I'm scared but I'm more scared of you killing one of these people," Jewel said.

Negan stood up and rubbed his face. "Well shit, now, hell, if I took your kids, your brother out of the equation, sorry got to keep the prick in, would you still be willing to die for them?"

"Yes," Jewel answered as she kept her eyes on him.

"Well shit, sweetheart, I'm really turned on right now. I'd take you back with me but I'm afraid I'd wake up with my important parts all cut off. Shit, how did you wind up with this prick?" Negan asked. "Well shit sweetheart, I can't take you up on your offer, you're too willing to put your life on the line. They wouldn't learn anything. And the sad part is, I don't think you think it as self-sacrifice. I believe you when you say you are willing to die for any of these fine folks. You know I'm impressed as hell. You all could learn a lesson from this one. Summer, you take the girl both of you don't have to watch this. I mean it could be someone either one of you love."

"No, I'm staying," Summer said.

"I'm staying," Lexi said.

"Well shit, I try to do something nice. Any way back to it, I got to figure out who is going to get Lucille," Negan said.
