Chapter 493

Author's Note: I'm just going to pull off the bandaid and finish the line up (GRR) then go back in time and check on Carol and Jes and the others. Please review.

Negan walked past Rick as he whistled then stopped. He looked at the group. "I simply cannot decide," he said as he gave a small laugh. I got an idea," he said as he pointed the bat at Rick. "Eeney," he said as he moved to Maggie, "Meeney," then to Abraham, "Miney," then to Michonne, "Moe," then to Daryl, "Catch," then to Beth, "a tiger," then skipping Rosita went to Joey, "by its," he then turned the other way to Sasha, "toe," then he skipped Lexi going to Aaron, "if he," then skipped Summer and went to Jewel, "hollers," then he went to Carl, "let him," then to Eugene, "go." He then pointed the bat up in the air. "My mother," he said as he went back to Aaron, "told me," to Sasha, "the very," to Rick, "best," to Abraham, "one."

Jewel was making herself look taller, as she saw Abraham doing the same thing. Sasha and Eugene both had tears in their eyes. Lexi leaned on Sasha, while Daryl raised his eyes when he pointed the bat. Jewel took a breath wanting him to move on from him.

To Rosita, "and you," to Aaron, then Joey, then Glenn, then Maggie, "are," to Aaron, to Rosita, to Rick, to Beth, to Carl, to Abraham, to Michonne, to Jewel to Eugene then back to Abraham. "it. Anybody move, anybody says anything, cut the boys other eye out and feed it to his father. And then we'll start," Negan said. "You can breathe, you can blink, you can cry, hell you're all going to be doing that," he said as he raised the bat bringing it down.

Jewel saw Abraham make a motion to Sasha with his fingers before the initial bat came down. Various members of the group screamed as Sasha held Lexi closer.

Negan laughed as Abraham managed to sit back up. "Damn, taking it like a champ."

"Suck….my….nuts…" Abraham said through breaths.

Negan brought the bat down again causing Michonne to turn her head. Summer started crying as she lowered her head. Eugene and Rosita both started crying and shaking. Beth tried to keep her eyes on Maggie but found it difficult. Joey sat straighter. Jewel closed her eyes as she counted the blows begging it to stop in her head.

"Did you hear that? He said suck my nuts," Negan said with a laugh as he hit him again.

Sasha jumped as Lexi hugged her closer. Summer and Lexi both started crying harder as Negan kept hitting him. Maggie bent down putting her head close to the ground as she started crying.

Negan stopped and bent backwards. "Oh my goodness," he said. "Look at this," he said as flicked the bat, causing blood to go on Rick. "You guys, look at my dirty girl."

Jewel opened up her eyes and sat straighter and glared at Negan.

Negan walked over to Rosita. "Sweetheart, lay your eyes on this," he said.

Jewel wanted to yell at him to stop it, but it was too dangerous. She glanced at Rosita, taking a breath.

"Oh damn, were you," Negan asked as he pointed to Abraham's remains, "were you together? That sucks," he said. "But if you were, you should know, there was a reason for all this. Red, and hell he was, is and always will ever be, Red. He just took one, or six or seven for the team. Now, that could have just as easily been momma bear, since she was the only one of you sorry shits to volunteer," he said as he pointed the bat back at Rosita. "So take a damn look," he ordered. "Take a damn look!" he yelled.

Jewel heard the grunt before she saw it, her eyes immediately going to Daryl who got up and punched Negan. "Daryl!" Jewel screamed as she felt a gun to the back of her head causing her to stop her movements.

"Daryl!" Rick yelled as he Daryl was grabbed, pushed down to the ground.

"No, no. No!" Negan yelled. He turned and started laughing. "That, oh man, that is a no no," he said as he bent down in front of Daryl. "The whole thing, not one bit of that shit flies here," he said.

Rick looked down the line at the others meeting Jewel's eyes. Both of them not knowing what to do.

"You want me to do it?" Dwight asked as he came up with the bow and arrow.

Negan took hold of Daryl's hair then looked up at Dwight. "No," he said. "Nah you don't kill that," he said. "Not until you try a little."

Jewel and Summer both looked, silently praying that Daryl would stop struggling as Dwight and the other savior's pulling him back in line.

"Anyway," Negan said as he got back up. "That's not how it works," he said as he walked over to Jewel. "I saw that you were going to jump up after that, and if it wasn't for my guy here, I'd be killing two more of you," he said as he walked away. "Now I already told you people, first one's free, then what did I say? I said that I would shut that shit down! No exceptions," he said with a grin. "Now I don't know what kind of kind of lying assholes, you've been dealing with. But I'm a man of his word. First impressions are important. Summer here knows how it is. She lied to me the first time we met, saying she didn't have any family, well that was a lie. So, now I've got to teach the rest of you. I need you to know me, so back to it," he said as he turned to Glenn and brought the bat down.

Summer screamed as Maggie cried. Joey got some of Glenn's blood on him as he sat up and looked at Negan.

"NO!" Maggie screamed.

"Maggie….I'll….find….you," Glenn said as he sat up with half of his face batted in.

Carl cried as Summer started to pass out from the blood loss and trauma, Aaron grabbed her, leaning her against him, giving him something to do.

Negan bent forward. "Buddy you still there? I just don't know, it sounds like you're trying to speak. But you just took a hell of a hit. I just popped your skull so hard your eyeball just popped out of your skull, and it's gross as shit," he said as he stood up straighter as Maggie started crying. "Ah hell. I can see this is hard on your guys, I am sorry," he said. "I truly am, but I did say, no exceptions!" he said as he turned back and hit Glenn again.

Summer tried to sit up as she regained consciousness, Aaron keeping his grip on her. Jewel sat paralyzed as he continued to hit Glenn, Eugene putting his hands over his eyes. Beth closed her eyes turning her head away.

"You bunch of pussy's," Negan said as he continued. "I'm just getting started. Lucille is thirsty," he told the group as he laughed. "She is a vampire bat." Rick looked up at him. "What was the joke that bad?"

Jewel glanced down at Rick, knowing that the change of posture was not good. "No," she whispered to herself.

"I'm going to kill you," Rick informed him.

Negan walked over and bent down in front of him. "What? I didn't quite catch that, you're going to have to speak up," he said as he looked at Rick.

Rick lowered his head then sat back up. "Not today, not tomorrow, but I'm going to kill you."

Negan looked at him. "Jesus. Simon, what'd he have? A knife? "

"He had a hatchet," Simon reported.

Negan looked up. "A hatchet?" he questioned.

"And an ax," Simon answered.

Negan looked at Rick. "Simon's my right hand man. Having one of those is important. I mean what do you have left without them? A whole lot of work," Negan said. "You have one? Maybe one of these fine people still breathing? I know Jewel said she's a leader with you, but maybe she was just trying to take some of the heat off you. Or did I," he said as he held up Lucille in front of him, making a sound with his mouth. Negan gave a small smile and let out a breath as he looked at him. "Sure, yeah, give me his ax."

Simon did as he was told without a word, handing it to him.

Negan stood up and put it in his waist band as he grabbed Rick's collar. "I'll be right back, maybe Rick will be with me, and if not, we can just turn these people inside out, won't we?" he asked as he dragged Rick. Negan stopped at the door of the RV. "Sampson, bring momma bear over here. She'll be back, for sure," he said as the man pulled Jewel up. "Ladies first," Negan said as he nodded toward the RV.
