All Nightmare Long
Chapter 500
Author's Note: I am thinking that Rick is not going to be taken away and disappear for six years in this story. It started out as a Rick and Jewel story and it is a Rick and Jewel story. Just like Axel, Beth and Mika are alive, Rick can be home. Let me know your thoughts in PM. It'll be a while to save Daryl since I've got people to check up on and pre episodes to do. Let's check up on Carol and Morgan and get introduced to the Kingdom properly. A lot of it is from the episodes, with a little change now and then. I will be mixing episodes up (it'll drive me insane) but I don't want to spend 3 chapters with Negan, or three chapters on Carol. Please review.
Carol and Morgan's POV:
Carol struggled with a walker and pulled on its skin and used the knife to stab it in the head. She bent over, struggling to breath from the wound, not paying attention to her surroundings, getting tackled by a Savior. She fought with him, and he threw her knife away from her. She reached for it before he pulled a gun.
"Hey, hey, hey, no," the wounded savior told her. She rolled on her back and took a breath as he struggled to get up, being injured too. "Each breath is getting harder," he said as he pointed the gun at her. "I probably don't have too many more in me, so I'm going to make each one count. So here's how it's going to go, you're going to lie there, and I'm going to watch you die, slow. Just like my friends did back on that road, just like I'm gonna. Let's see who wins, bitch," he said as he pointed the gun at her and fired into her arm.
Carol grabbed her arm and gave out a few grunts of pain.
"You see there? That's a pretty good start huh?" the savior asked. "Huh?"
Carol held her arm as she started laughing.
"What you got to smile about?" the savior asked her. "What the hell's wrong with you?" he asked as he pointed the gun to her again.
Carol laughed a little. "There's nothing wrong with me, I'm gonna die, so there's nothing wrong with me anymore."
The savior gave a small smile before shooting her in the leg. "You think you've suffered enough now?" he asked as he bent over her.
"No, probably not," Carol answered. The man lowered his gun and turned away. "What are you done? Unless you kill me now, I'm not gonna die. You decide, the world doesn't decide, you decide! You don't get to walk away, and get what you want!"
The savior turned back and started walking toward her, and held up his weapon.
"Stop," Morgan said as he held up his gun to him. "Drop it," he said as the man hesitated. "You can survive this, you can. Drop it. Please."
The man looked down at the gun and shook his head. "No," he said as he went to fire, causing Morgan to fire his gun, hitting him several times.
Morgan lowered his gun, taking a few breaths before he ran over to Carol.
"Will you please just let me go? Go back to Jenny, she needs you," Carol pleaded.
"It's not your time and Jenny is safe," Morgan told her. "You are going to come back from this," he told her as she looked at him. He lowered his head then heard horses coming behind him, quickly getting up, going for his gun.
A man wearing knight armor raised his hand at him. "What happened here?"
"I found your horse," Morgan told him. "I found my friend too," he said as he looked back at her. "She needs help.
The man looked back at the other two men on horseback, one of them getting off.
"Then let's get you some help," the man said as he approached raising his hand and nodded as Morgan took it.
The man who got off the horse used his sword to pierce the savior's head in. "I recognize him, he came for one of the pickups," he said as he extended his hand. "Drake."
Morgan shook the hand of the 2nd man.
"We can hook up a wheelbarrow to one of the horses, go from there. I'm Daniel," the first man said. "Drake can stop the bleeding now, until we get home."
"You a doctor?" Morgan asked the curly haired man as he walked over to Carol.
"No, I know some emergency stuff, like we all do. We've got doctors back home," Drake said as he put wrappings on Carol's wounds. "Help me get her loaded up."
Morgan nodded as he did so, loading her into the back of the wheelbarrow. "It's alright, Carol."
"I'll walk beside the wheelbarrow, you'll be going slow enough that I can keep up," Drake said as Daniel hooked up the horse to the wheel barrow.
Daniel nodded as he took the lead of the horse and went ahead.
"It'll be dark soon," Morgan said.
"It's not much further. We have people who can patch her up," Daniel assured him.
"She'll need rest, but she'll be able to get it at the Kingdom," Drake told him. Drake looked over as Morgan walked away to mark a tree.
"What are you doing?" Daniel asked.
"Marking the way back," Morgan answered.
"Back to where?" Drake asked.
"Alexandria, it's home," Morgan answered.
"And, you are dealing with the Savior's also?" Daniel asked.
"We weren't, but things happened," Morgan answered. "Walkers," he said.
"Positions," Daniel told his men. "On your left."
The walkers were numerous and overtook the horse that was hooked up to the wheel barrow and knocked it over, causing Carol to sit up, starting to hallucinate the walkers were humans. She watched Morgan and the others fight, before getting up and stumbling away. She walked seeing a walker in the window before it turned to a human beckoning to her, then turning back. She sat against an iron fence and watched as a bunch of horseback riders dressed in armor took out the walkers who turned to humans in Carol's imagination. Morgan took out one near her and looked at her.
"Daniel, Colton, Drake, good we've been looking for you," the man on horseback said. "Looks like you've found some people yourself."
"One of the savior's did this to her, he killed him. We need to get her back to the Kingdom. The wounds aren't fatal, but the blood loss may be," Drake told him.
"Tony, help him get her on your horse," the man instructed.
The woman nodded as she jumped off her horse, going over to her.
"I'm Richard," the man on the horse replied.
"Are you the leader?" Morgan asked.
"No, that would be the King. You'll meet him soon," Richard assured him as he watched them help Carol. "You can take one of the horses, they can walk."
"No, I'll walk, I want to mark our way back home. We got people who will worry if we don't return," Morgan said.
"The Kingdom isn't far, she'll be under good care," Richard told Morgan.
