This is just a little bit of info about the set up of this concept.
I've basically had this idea since I first read the books when I was a kid like 10 years ago so it's way more in depth than it ever needed to be lmao. Rated M for certain oneshots including drugs/ alcohol and mention of sex.
In this AU the clans are well organized gangs (i.e. mafias) that have control of a large sector of an unnamed major city and the local government have been paid off so their antics go completely unchecked. Also everyone has twins or triplets and that's the only other difference.
Thunderclan:
Deal more in the politics of the city and are the ones that initiated bribing the local government.
They tend to deal less with drugs and weapons and more with bribery, theft, and embezzlement.
Due to their illegal practices tending to be less messy than the other clans they have a reputation for claiming moral superiority over the other clans.
Their territory is a working class neighborhood that has several old and abandoned warehouses and factories that they primarily operate out of.
Riverclan:
Has control of the ports and have control over everything that moves out of the city by the large river that runs through it.
Their criminal activity tends to be more related to them acting as a middle man when it comes to other gangs and criminals moving large quantities of drugs and weapons using the river.
Windclan:
Windclan's territory is the warehouse district at the edge of the city and is notably smaller than the other clans, however they make up for this by holding control over the public transportation of the entire city.
Basically they're the Teamsters.
Shadowclan:
Shadowclan presides over the absolute worst, most dangerous district in the city (and they're most of the reason it's so bad).
They are the only clan that explicitly gain most of their money and influence through drugs and weaponry.
They have a reputation for being shady that they have earned which is also the reason they have such bad blood with the other clans.
Terminology and roles
Leader → Leader: the leader has basically the same function in this world, they make decisions, facilitate meetings, and plan attacks if needed as well as acting as a spiritual leader.
Medicine Cat → Doctor: doctors in the clans begin their training at 13 like the other apprentices, however after graduating high school they go to the local university (unlike warriors) where they are banned from mixing with their peers outside of school and project groups. Due to the clans having their hands in the pockets of this university and the fact that they have been training extensively since such a young age they generally graduate after two years and begin what basically amounts to their residency.
Warrior → Warrior: warriors are also basically the same as in the books, they fight, patrol, and in this case conduct illegal activity. They also get a tattoo of their clan symbol once they become warriors.
Apprentice → Apprentice: apprentices are the same and their training begins at 13 and occasionally 12 and ends when they're 17-19. They also take a few classes at the local high school, but this amounts to only about 2 hours a day.
Kits → Children/ Kids: they are homeschooled.
Queens → Mothers: the mothers are taken care of very well and are allowed to take as much or as little time off as they need for their children. There are also some women who have chosen to do full time childcare instead of warrior duties, however they generally make this decision after having been a warrior for some years.
Elders → Elders: another one that doesn't change. Once an elder retires they are treated with respect and to stay with the clan until their death.
Kittypets → Civilians: literally just the ordinary people.
Rogues → Rogues: petty criminals who generally work solo.
Loners → People who don't live in the city: they can have a wide range from non-aggressive transients (such as Purdy) to rural people (like Barely).
Badgers, dogs, Scourge's gang, and other species → Other gangs: no these species are NOT representative of different races! They are simply smaller and less organized or influential gangs who sometimes try to take over clan territory.
Two-Legs → Societal institutions: basically the role that humans filled in the warriors universe is filled instead by governmental things and abstract concepts (i.e. law enforcement, governmental initiatives, and the enticing idea of living a comfortable life outside the clan wars).
