CH 2 - I want candy (Last Chapter)
It was 3 weeks before Halloween. Harvey got home past 11 pm and found Donna on her laptop at their living room, as if she doesn't have work the next day.
"Hey" Harvey called.
"Hey"
"You're still up"
"I am"
"I thought we agreed no bringing work stuff at home?"
"Except this isn't work related. Well I mean it is but it isn't"
"What?"
"I'm cashing in my prize. Halloween's around the corner Harvey" Donna's face lit up.
Harvey saw what Donna's browsing on her laptop. Halloween costumes. Couples costumes actually.
"That's what we're wearing?"
"Remember you can't say no"
"As far as I remember, I can't say no to wearing a costume but I CAN say no to what kind of costume I'm wearing" Harvey smirked. He doesn't really hate the costume that Donna's picking. It's just that he has something else in mind.
"Oh don't lawyer me" Donna rolled her eyes.
"Just let me choose. I swear it'll be great"
"Coming from the guy who doesn't dress up for Halloween?"
"Fine. How about we choose together?"
"okay I'll agree. But nothing slutty!"
"But where's the fun in that?" Harvey joked.
They ended up being late for work the next day because they slept at 2 am in the morning, discussing what to wear on Halloween. Donna takes Halloween seriously and Harvey has known that for years. This year is different because now they're spending it together and he really can't say no to her because he knows what the day meant to her.
~Halloween Day~
Donna decided to set up a Halloween event at Rachel and Mike's firm. She and Harvey decided to dress up as Batman and Catwoman.
The party has started and Rachel is nowhere to be seen.
"Mike! Where's Rachel?"
"Woah batman and catwoman!"
"Shut up superman" Harvey said.
"You guys look great! Anyways, Louis Lane is still dressing up in her office"
"I'll go check on her she might need help" Donna excused herself as the two guys mingled with the other employees of the firm.
"Go get her catwoman!" Mike joked.
Donna went to Rachel's office but she's not there. She figured she's in the bathroom but she waited around Rachel's office since her purse is still there. She knows Rachel is coming back to her office.
While waiting, Donna saw some sour candies at Rachel's desk. She decided to take one while waiting for Rachel.
It's been 15 mins and Rachel and Donna is nowhere to be seen. Mike decided to check Rachel's office.
"Where is she?" Mike asked Donna.
"A girl needs time to dress up Mike. Chill and have some candy" Donna handed Mike a piece of the sour candy from the bag she munched on earlier.
"Where's Harvey?"
"Mingling with the other partners"
Another 15 mins has passed and Rachel is still not back from the washroom.
"Holy shit Mike!" Donna felt something different.
"What?!"
"The candy I don't think they're just candies" Donna searched for the packaging of the sour candies and Mike took it from her.
"Jesus Donna these are edibles with THC!"
"What are we gonna do?!" Donna already felt the high while Mike hasn't
"Shit we can't go down to the party now!"
"Okay okay I'll call Harvey" Donna tried to call Harvey but he isn't answering.
On the event
Rachel went to look for Mike but all he saw was Harvey mingling with the other employees in a batman costume.
"Well if it isn't batman" Rachel teased Harvey
Harvey turned around to see Rachel alone.
"Lois Lane"
"Have you seen Mike? And where's Donna?"
"What? I thought they waited for you in your office"
"Oh I went straight down here from the bathroom. They might still be waiting there, I'll go get them"
"I'll come with you" Harvey said.
"So Donna finally cashed in her price huh?"
"She sure did!"
"Looks good on you batman!"
When Rachel and Harvey got to the floor where her office is, they heard people laughing so loudly. It must be Mike and Donna.
Rachel and Harvey went straight to her office only to see the two laughing so hard about something that they can't figure out.
"Hey I'm here we can all head downstairs to the party now" Rachel said.
"Yeah about that I don't think we can go down" Donna said to the both of them while still laughing.
"What? But this is your idea" Harvey said. He can't figure out why Donna wouldn't wanna go down at the party
"What's going on here?" Rachel already suspected that something is wrong.
"We're uhmm" Mike can't finish his sentence.
"High. We're high" Donna said
"You two got high?" Harvey questioned.
"We didn't mean to! It's Rachel's candy. I didn't know it was an edible!" Donna innocently said.
"Oh my god! The candy I picked up from the lobby earlier that someone must've dropped!"
Harvey doesn't know if he should be pissed that Donna got high or be amused with it. He hasn't seen this side of Donna.
"Didn't your mom tell you not to take what's not yours" Harvey teased Donna
"It's a candy and it's Halloween AND IT'S AT RACHEL'S DESK I mean how would I know she's doing Mary Jane now?!" Donna said while trying herself from a burst of laughter.
"Okay let's get you home" Harvey held gently Donna by the arm ready to get out of Rachel's office.
"Jeez Harvey I'm not disabled I'm just high. Drunk can be worst you know. How about we go down to the party! Woo!" Donna and Mike started laughing so hard while Harvey and Rachel just stared at each other not knowing what to do with the two.
"Fine we'll go down to the party but you're sticking with us." Harvey finally said knowing Donna wouldn't take no for an answer especially knowing how high his wife is.
"Yay! Let's go!" Donna grabbed Rachel's hands and started walking so fast down the hall to the elevators.
It's been a while since they went down to the party. Harvey and Rachel were mostly babysitting their other halves who seems to be having the time of their lives at the party. They make sure the two doesn't do anything stupid or do something that could hurt them.
"If I knew being batman would be just babysitting I wouldn't agree to this" Harvey said to Rachel without breaking his look at his wife who's dancing and singing with Mike along with the pop music blasting on the sound system. He's happy to see Donna having fun but he's worried at the same time.
"You're saying you can't handle Donna?" Rachel teased.
"I can barely handle her drunk! What more now that she's high. Jesus! She should've read the label or not take what's not hers" Harvey complained. Rachel found it sweet that Harvey is so worried about Donna but she isn't that worried at all. She knows Donna will be fine. And as for Mike, he's used to being high before so she knows he can handle himself.
"For what it's worth" Rachel secretly handed Harvey the rest of the edibles.
"You want me to get high too?" Harvey frowned.
"Have some fun Harvey! It takes about 30 mins to take effect. Take it now then take Donna home. Thank me later" Rachel smirked.
Harvey pretty much just listened to Rachel's advice. He was able to persuade Donna to go home.
Before he knew, he and Donna was laughing hard at some simple joke he made.
"Wait.. Are you high?" Donna wondered why Harvey suddenly is not pissed anymore.
"You bet I am" He rushed into Donna and carried her into their bedroom. He dropped her to the bed.
"Oh Mr. Specter. What are you gonna do to me" Donna teased. Next thing she knew Harvey tickled her and she's laughing so hard and couldn't escape.
"Harvey stop!" She cried while laughing.
She ended up on top of Harvey and stared at his face. As if it was a common reflex, she brushed her lips on to his. They made love as always to make up for the 13 years that was lost that they should've been together.
Donna's high was starting to fade but it turns her into a very emotional one. She was resting on Harvey's side half on top of Harvey's, her arms spread over him.
"When did you know" Donna innocently asked.
"Know what?"
"That you're inlove with me"
"I don't exactly know when but I've always known, subconsciously. I guess I was just too scared before that if we got together that eventually I'll lose you. And you know what happened when you went to work for Louis. That was I was so scared about."
"I'm here now Harvey. And you don't have to feel like that again. I won't ever leave you" Donna said looking up to Harvey to meet his gaze. She doesn't know if she's high from the edibles or from what Harvey had just said to her. But the feeling she has right now makes it overwhelming for her and still couldn't believe the fact that they're together now.
"I love you Harvey, always."
"I love you Donna"
"That was the best candy ever. It makes you say stuff" Donna chuckled.
"You mean this was the best Halloween ever, because you're high"
"No. Only because I'm with you. Maybe next year let's try a joint?"
"Or maybe you can sleep now so you can rest" Harvey said.
"Harvey…I'm starving"
"Alright we'll order in, what do you want?"
"Cheese burger, fries ice cream or some Thai food. Wait but I also want some sushi. Or what do you want?" Donna couldn't decide and is asking Harvey for suggestions. Harvey ended up ordering whatever Donna mentions.
The food came and they ate at the dining table
"You almost finished everything Donna!"
"Hey! I don't do this all the time! It's only because I was high. Oh my gosh that was so good!" Donna said while wiping her mouth with a napkin.
Harvey was amused to see Donna not her usual self. He likes seeing a different side of Donna and this is Donna being high. A side of Donna he had never seen before.
"It's nice to see you high"
"So you want me high all the time?"
"Hmmm with what we did in the bedroom awhile ago, maybe" Harvey joked.
"You know I like you high too" Donna teased.
"Should this be our Halloween tradition? We get high." Harvey asked her innocently.
"Sure maybe next time we'll try a joint" Donna joked.
"Come let's watch some tv." Harvey suggested
"Don't you think we should sleep?"
"We just ate and you want to sleep?"
"You're right. By the way how did you get high?"
"Rachel gave me the rest of the edible" Harvey said.
"She did? What a terrible boss! Giving her employee some edibles" Donna joked.
"Mike's the worst. Getting high with his employee" Harvey added.
"We have some terrible employers don't you think?"
"We sure do. Now go find us something to watch in Netflix"
They ended up watching and cuddling at the couch and eventually fell asleep. Good thing they don't have work tomorrow or they'll end up being late or worst be not at the firm at all.
But it sure was a Halloween to remember for the both of them.
