All Nightmare Long

Chapter 507

Author's Note: So, I am furloughed, and I guess my muse decided that meant that it was furloughed too. Then Santa brought me bronchitus, and a week later, I'm still sick as a dog. Have no energy for anything. I don't know how long it'll take me to do this chapter, but I'm trying to poke my muse into action. Rick and Jewel need to talk. Day 2 Happy New Year. Review please.

Jewel and Rick POV:

Jewel walked down the stairs and into the kitchen seeing Rick feeding Judith applesauce. "Good morning Jude," she said as she kissed the top of her head. "You didn't come to bed last night," she told Rick.

"I couldn't sleep, I didn't want to bother you," Rick said as he let Judith take the spoon.

Jewel leaned on the counter. "You don't think not coming to bed isn't going to bother me?" she asked.

"I wasn't going to sleep anyway," Rick said as he watched Judith.

"I think there's a lot of that going on," Jewel said. "But it never mattered before that we would sleep as long as we are together. We always just took strength in being with each other, even if we didn't say anything."

Rick looked up at her. "You could have asked if you wanted me to hold you," he told her.

"I shouldn't have too," Jewel told him.

Rick sighed as he stood up. "You're right, you shouldn't," he said as he kissed her. "I don't know how to handle this," he admitted. "Anything I can think of always ends with you, Summer, Carl, Mika, the girls, and everyone else dying," he said as Judith squeeled.

Jewel squeezed his hand as she picked up Judith. "Hi messy girl, let's wash that face," she said. "Negan is a dangerous threat," she said as she walked over to the sink turning on the water. "What he did," she said as she shook her head, "it was unimaginable, it was..." she stopped as she looked at Judith and wet a towel. "It's something that's going to live with us for the rest of our lives," she admitted as she took the towel and put it on Judith's face, making her giggle. "Yeah, let's get that face clean. He's got Daryl, and weather we like it or not, he will be here within a week to take our stuff," she said bitterly. "There all better, Judith. Yes, how about you give daddy a kiss and sit and play for a bit before Hope gets up for the day?" she asked as she handed Judith over to Rick. She gave a small smile as she watched them. "I wonder how Maggie and the baby is? How Summer's hand is. I keep wondering what they are doing to Daryl, you know?"

"I know," Rick said as he kissed Judith's head. "You could take the girls and go to the Hilltop."

"I would love to do that, I would love to just move all of Alexandria and ignore that we ever heard of the name Negan. But we can't, and you and I are are a team. And that's why we are not going to let this tear us apart, not going to let Negan tear us apart," she said as she reached out her hand to him.

Rick adjusted Judith on his hip and took her hand. "Together."

Jewel kissed him as she touched Judith's head.

Beth's POV:

Beth reached out and rubbed the horses head as she fed him an apple. "We don't have any horses in Alexandria, but I'm going to be staying here at the Hilltop for a while."

"You keep spoiling her with apples, she's not going to like me anymore," the male's voice said from behind.

Beth jumped slightly as she turned around as she put her hand on her heart. "I didn't hear you approach. You've changed out of your kilt," she said.

Archie laughed. "It's getting a bit colder, lass. How's your sister?"

"Mourning," Beth answered. "But the baby is good for now. Do you think Gregory will change his mind and let her stay?"

Archie sighed. "There's one thing about Gregory, he's a coward."

"He made the deal, we didn't push him too," Beth pointed out.

"Like he is ever going to admit it, lass. He's to much of a coward to admit that he made a deal like that," Archie said.

"So you don't think that he'll let her stay?" Beth questioned.

"Leave him in a room with Summer, maybe Sasha, long enough, he'll either change his mind and let her stay or he'll be dead. Either way, win for Maggie and the babe. You were close with your brother in law? The other man who died?" he questioned.

"Glenn, that was Maggie's husband name. We've known him since the farm. Daddy liked him, didn't think daddy would ever like any boy Maggie or I liked, but he liked Glenn. Summer knew him from the beginning, they were like brother and sister. He saved Rick," she said as she petted the horse.

"You all saved each other, right?" Archie asked. "That's what your group does, protect each other?"

"That's what we do, but Glenn, he saved Rick from the very beginning. If he hadn't saved him in Atlanta, then Rick wouldn't have started to put this family together. Maggie's mourning a husband, Summer's mourning a brother, so am I," Beth said.

"The other man? He was the big red head right?" Archie questioned.

"Abe," Beth answered as she nodded. "Glenn met him on the road, after our home was destroyed. I didn't know him as well as I should have, I mean, we did travel from Atlanta together. He was always rough around the edges. but a big protector. He...kept getting taller in the line up, like he wanted to be the one picked, he tried to save the rest of us," she said. "Summer's mother did the same thing, she volunteered to be the one killed. He was going to kill Maggie," she said as she started to cry.

Archie reached out and wrapped her in his arms. "It's alright, lass."

"He still has Daryl, Summer's uncle," Beth said as she straightened up.

"He has my sister too. As one of is wives," Archie said.

"Do you get to talk to her? Find out how she is?" Beth asked

"No, I haven't talked to her, but Negan is nice enough to let me know ow she is, every chance that he bloody gets," Archie told her.

"I'm sorry," Beth said.

"And, I'm sorry for your too," Archie said.
