EL'S CHOICE
Eleven looked outside from her little but cute room's window. She was pretty silent since Hopper died(as we know). She liked being in silent rooms too. The noise coming from outside was low. Joyce had searched for that detail too. She didn't want El and Will to be disturbed by the outside noise. El was thankful for that. Her life was completely different from the past. She went to school now. Well, she didn't have a friend more than Will and she was failing at her classes too. It wasn't a surprise that she wasn't happy. Plus, she missed her friends in Hawkins. Especially Max. But she wanted to see Mike most. She missed him, so much. On the other side, her powers weren't returning either. So she felt like she was in Upside Down. She was kind of alone here. That was the other problem. She felt scared. She felt scared of being hunted from Upside Down again. Her leg was still looking bad. Hurting as well. Joyce told her that it would get better several times.
On the other hand, Joyce was worried about El and Will all the time. From the day she saw El she loved her but it was never like that since Hopper was gone. Joyce never let them go school by themselves, go to other houses, let them stay at home alone… Will and El had told her "You are being too protective over us. We are safe now. There is no Upside Down or Russians here." Joyce still wasn't believing that Upside Down hadn't got any connection to them. It was gone twice but it always came back. She wasn't going to be fooled again. Having two kids (actually teens but she still didn't want to believe that) and one pre-adult wasn't a problem to her. But she knew that protecting them was her most important duty.
She had adopted El after one month from the incident. She had been living in Mike's basement before her adoption. Joyce had been thinking about adopting El since the fire but she wasn't sure about El's thoughts. She didn't want to force her to do something she didn't want to. So after one month of thinking, she asked her. l was taking Will to Mike so it wasn't a suspicious thing for Karen to think(Karen doesn't know about El staying again
XDDDD). She didn't know how they hid that from her but she wasn't gonna question it. "Hi, Karen! Can we have some time before we leave Hawkins?" Karen accepted her offer, they were friends since Will and Mike met in school. They went to the living room and began to talk about some stuff (Joyce didn't ask about El). Later on, Karen wanted to make some food, it was almost afternoon. Will was in the basement with Eleven and Mike. (As we mentioned before Karen doesn't know about Eleven.) "Hi, Ms. Byers," Mike replied Joyce. "Hey, El. Ummm. I wanted to talk to you about something." "Ok…" El answered not knowing what Joyce was going to talk about. At this moment Will was curious too. Why would his mom want to talk to her? "In private." Joyce told her before she started to talk. El knew what was private meant too good. "Oh," Mike and Will said together and got out of the room. "Umm well, this is a thing I have been thinking about for a while. Would you like me to adopt you and move with us?" El was shocked. She wasn't excepting that. "I-" "You can think about it. It's normal. When you are sure of what to do you can come to us with Mike…" "Ok…" To be truth El didn't understand her second sentence completely but she understood the first one completely. "Uhh so I have to go…" Joyce told her before she left…
A day after thinking she said yes, shocking everyone that is close to her. Actually, Joyce wasn't excepting that too. Will and Jonathan didn't oppose that. They hadn't got any problems because they knew that El couldn't live in Mike's basement all her life and to think Joyce was the only one to know Upside Down and who El is. So they knew if she didn't live with them everything could happen to her…
