All Nightmare Long

Chapter 519

Author's Note: I hate season 7, with a passion. Rick is just not Rick like. Glenn's death was a major blow, and so was Abraham, but Glenn more so for me because he was there from the beginning. And, Daryl, ugh. I know I may get a couple negative comments about Jewel over reaching in this chapter, but you all have read 500+ Chapters, and if I didn't have Jewel looking out for her babies and other children of Alexandria, that wouldn't be Jewel like. Jewel was always going to challenge Negan, always try to get Rick to fight. She won't take it too far, but if I had her stand by and do nothing, well that's just not Jewel. Please review.

Alexandria:

Negan walked further into the gate. "Alright, let's get this show on the road, see what goodies you have in the cupboard," he told Rick.

"We put away half of the supplies," Rick started to say.

"No," Negan said as he turned back around and looked at Rick. "No Rick, you don't decide what we take, I do. Arat," he instructed.

Jewel and Jes exchanged glances as they both watched the exchange.

"You heard the man! Move out!" Arat yelled at them.

"They're just going to search the houses a bit, keep the process movin," Negan said.

Jewel looked at Rick before stepping forward. "That wasn't the deal," Jewel told him.

"Jewel," Rick started to say as he reached for her.

"Hey," Sylvie said at the same time.

"Woah, woah, hold your horses, let Jewel here speak. Deal? I don't remember a deal, sweetheart. I remember telling you all that I'd be here to pick up half of your shit, and here I am," Negan told her.

"You said a week, it's been three days," Jewel pointed out.

"It was a time frame, not a deal," Negan said with a smirk. "But, alright, I just got all tingly at the thought of seeing you and Ricky boy," he told her.

Jewel ignored him. "You left us a truck, you said to fill up your stuff with, which we did. Maybe we didn't shake hands on it, but considering you bashed in two of our family members heads in, and took my brother to do who the hell knows to, but I think it was pretty much settled. You show up, you take the stuff and you leave us alone until the next time."

"Jewel, it's alright, he's here," Rick said.

"No it's not alright, Rick," Jewel said.

"I'll take her to show me around," Sylvie said as she reached out for her arm, only for Jewel to pull it away.

"Unless I'm related to you, or I'm sleeping with you, don't touch me," Jewel hissed at her.

Negan laughed. "Well damn, I knew you were a spit fire, but Rick you got your hands full with this one. You got something to hide that you don't want my men to look around?"

"I don't want any more people traumatized. We have children here, babies, toddlers who have seen parents die due to the dead, who wake up screaming because they think they are next. Old people who have weak hearts, and no medication for it. So the last thing they need is your goons tearing up there houses, rummaging through things and taking the last things that they may have of their loved ones," Jewel said as she stood toe to toe with Negan.

"You know I could…" Negan started to say.

"You could make me cut off a piece of my brother? Bash someone elses head in with a baseball bat? Shoot up the whole dam place?" Jewel asked.

Daryl took a step forward before Dwight grabbed him, glancing at him shaking his head.

Rick took a step forward. "Negan can I have a minute with Jewel please?"

Negan looked between the two. "Sixty seconds and I'm counting," he said as he whistled.

Rick walked her away from the group. "What are you doing? I thought we agreed to keep things peaceful, so no one else dies."

"We agreed to play by his rules, and he broke it. Look at Daryl, my GOD, I can't even imagine what the hell is being done to him," Jewel told her husband. "You can't tell me that you don't want to take that bat and ram it where the sun doesn't shine."

Rick glanced down at the bat and gave a small smile. "The thought has crossed my mind, but I can't, we can't. We can't antagonize him, we let him in, we stay calm," Rick told her as he kissed her.

"I'm way past calm," Jewel told him as she walked back over to Negan. "I'm not going to apologize for looking out for those who can't look out for themselves."

Negan laughed. "Oh Jewel, I've known that you were mother bear since day one. And since I'm such a nice guy, listen up. You go in a room that obviously has kids live in it, look around, make sure no guns are hidden, don't tear it up. If there's young kids in it, leave, you'll go back later. See, you voiced concerns and I took care of it. Easy peasy. Sylvie here, will walk around with you and you can even watch over them. Now they're allowed to do whatever in any other parts of the house, but make sure not to scare the kiddos. Now, a thank you would be nice, don't you think?"

Jewel grinded her teeth and looked at him. "Thank you, Negan," she said.

"Come on," Sylvie told her. She nodded that she should follow her. "I see why he's intrigued by you," she said softly.

"Oh please tell me," Jewel hissed.

"You challenge him, point out his faults. He's never let anyone else do that, except Lucille," Sylvie told her.

Jewel gave a snort. "If he thinks that a bat is challenging him, he's in worse shape than I thought."

"Lucille was my sister, his first wife before all this. She wouldn't have let him turn into this, and if he had, she would have left him," Sylvie told her.

"She got bit?" Jewel asked.

"No she died of cancer, right when this all started," Sylvie answered. "I put her down."

"I'm sorry, I had to put my older brother down a few months ago," Jewel told her out of sympathy. "It's not going to work, though."

"What's not going to work?" Sylvie asked.

"You trying to bond with me, make me feel sorry for him," Jewel informed her.

"I don't want you to feel sorry for him," she said as she leaned forward making sure no one was around. "I want him dead, just like I know you do."
