All Nightmare Long
Chapter 525
Author's Note: I just want Negan out of Alexandria so I can check on family. I want to get Tara back and Quinn. I want Maggie and Summer to save Hilltop. Yep I hate when the group is separated. Daryl will escape in the same episode he did before. It will be a while. Please review.
Alexandria:
Jewel walked down the steps in front of Negan, seeing Carl and Rick turn. "I'm Ok, I'm Ok," she reassured them as she squeezed Carl's arm. "Enid?"
"I'm Ok," the teenager assured her.
"Go back to the house, Carl go with her. No arguments, Ok?" Jewel told the two teens.
Carl looked back at Rick. "They'll be gone soon," Rick told him.
"Your dad's right, they will," Jewel told him as the teens walked away.
"You Ok?" Rick asked.
"He didn't do anything, I'm fine," Jewel said as she kissed his cheek.
Rick nodded as they walked over to Negan.
"What you got for me Rick?" Negan asked.
"I told you we found the guns," Jewel told him.
"Yes, you did, but I wanted to hear it from him," Negan told Jewel as he unwrapped the guns, laughing. "Well would you look at that? They were here after all. Funny how a little HOLY SHIT SOME ONE'S GOING TO DIE, lights a fire under everybody's ass," he said as Olivia sobbed.
Jewel went over to Olivia and rubbed her arm, glaring at Negan.
"Tell me Rick, which of your fine folks almost cost Olivia the rest of her days?" Negan asked.
Rick looked at Olivia and Jewel then back to him. "It doesn't matter anymore."
"No, it matters," Negan told him. "You need to get everyone on board. Everybody. Or we just go back to square one."
"You said a week, seven days. We are still grieving, I'm worried to death about my brother," Jewel said as she glanced over at Daryl then back at Negan. "If you had given us the time you told us, then this wouldn't have happened."
Negan laughed. "It sounds like you're blaming me for this."
"She's not…" Rick started to say.
"Rick, I'm not talking to you," Negan told him. "Go on Jewel."
"I'm just saying that if you gave us the time that you told us, we would have been able to search everyone's house, make everyone understand. I get why you would want the element of surprise, but you have to understand that we needed time to grieve, a few days to grieve three members of our family. Then we were going to handle everything else. You can understand that right?" Jewel asked as she looked at him.
"Yeah, I understand," Negan told her as trucks started rolling out and he started to walk toward the gate as Rosita and Spencer drove in.
"Hell of a place you got here, Rick," Negan told him.
Rick looked behind Negan and saw Michonne and Mar through the window of the burnt out house. "It wasn't all my doing," he said as he glanced at Jewel. "Give us a second."
Negan turned around to the building seeing Mar and Michonne both turning away from the window.
"No," Negan said.
"Please can you just give us a second?" Rick asked.
"What about you Jewel?" Negan asked.
Jewel took a breath before looking at him. "Can you please give us a second?" she asked.
Negan smirked as he nodded both of them going, running to the building.
Michonne looked at the bat, Rick looking down at it.
"He had me hold it," Rick told them. "I need the rifle. I need what guns you have Mar," he said.
"And, I need Daryl," Mar told him.
"What?" Michonne asked playing dumb.
"I know what's in the bag," Rick told her. "I know what you're doing out there," he told her.
"And what am I doing out there?" Michonne asked, angrily.
"You're practicing, both of you are," Rick told them. "We have to give up our guns. All of them," he told them.
"Jewel?" Mar asked.
"We can't," Michonne told Rick.
"If you keep it and they find it, someone dies. I'm not losing Jewel, or Carl, or you or anyone else. I'm not losing anyone else," Rick said almost pleading.
Jewel placed her hand on Rick's arm. "I hate this as much as the two of you, but for right now, we need to do this."
"What about Daryl?" Mar asked.
"Negan knows about Mitch, we told him that his mother was dead," Jewel told Mar. "He can't find out about your relationship with Daryl, it would be too dangerous for both of you."
"I didn't ask about myself, I asked about Daryl. You're telling us to give up our guns, but he still has Daryl," Mar pointed out.
"We know that, but if we don't do this, the first one he'll hurt is Daryl," Rick told them. "I'm giving it to them, are you going to let me?"
"We can't fight among ourselves, alright? If we do, we lose," Jewel said as Michonne and Rick stared at each other.
Mar sighed as she took out her gun. "Here."
Jewel nodded as she took it. "Michonne?" she asked.
Michonne sighed as gave him the rifle and picked up the deer.
Jewel grabbed Mar's arm. "The kids are at the Miller's. Go to them, go to Mitch. Negan's not letting any of us talk to Daryl," she told her before they walked out of the room.
Jewel followed Mar out of the door and saw Negan turn as he heard Michonne and Rick walk up. "Well look at this," Negan said as he looked at Michonne, who looked at Daryl.
"I thought she was scavenging, she was hunting," Rick said.
Mar looked at Daryl, feeling Jewel put her hand on her elbow.
"These two never came inside, we kept them near the line," Rick told them.
"Look at this, this is something to build a relationship on. Good for you Rick," Negan said.
"That's the 2nd time you've done that," Jewel told Negan.
"Do what sweetheart?" Negan asked Jewel. "And who is your friend? You weren't there that night."
"Thanking Rick, and ignoring the fact that I'm even there, I'm going to start taking it personally," Jewel said.
"Mar," Mar said as she looked at Negan.
"Mar," Negan said as he looked at Jewel. "Oh, trust me sweetheart, I'm never going to forget you are there," he said as he let out a laugh. "This is reading the room and getting the message. I said it before, and I'm going to say it again, you sir are special," he said before turning to Jewel. "And so are you."
"Now that you know we can follow your rules," Rick started to ask.
"Yes?" Negan asked in a playful voice.
"I'd like to ask you if Daryl could stay," Rick asked.
"Not happening," Negan told Rick. Negan looked at Rick then smiled. "You know what? I don't know, maybe Daryl could plead his case. Maybe Daryl could sway me. Daryl?" Negan laughed as Daryl didn't say anything. Jewel tightened her grip on Mar's arm to keep her from doing anything stupid. "Well you tried. You know what, that reminds me, where is that son of his? I mean, you said his mom was dead and well I got his father, seems right that he should come on back with me."
"That's not going to happen," Jewel said as she looked at Negan.
"Jewel," Negan warned.
"That's not going to happen," Jewel repeated. "He's staying here. Daryl knows he's in safe hands."
Negan laughed. "You are momma bear aren't you?" he asked as he turned back to Rick. "Now what you got to do is get over that tall wall of yours, and try harder out there. Earn for me, because we're coming back soon, and when we do, you better have something interesting for us, or Lucille she's going to have her way. I want you to hear that again. If you don't have something interesting for us, somebody's going to die," he told Rick. "And no more magic guns," he added. "Arat, grab that deer, it's getting late. Let's go home."
Michonne dropped the deer with a thud.
"Man I love a gal who buys me dinner and doesn't expect me to put out," Negan said.
"You really have to work on your ego, Negan, I don't think you think highly enough of yourself," Jewel said as she crossed her arms.
Jewel and Rick both watched Dwight walk up to Spencer. "I'll take that," he said as he patted the motorcycle. "Rosita," he said. "Got a little thank you," he said as he took out her hat from the back of his pocket, and threw it to her. "It's all you're getting back. Took all your guns, most of your beds, I hope you find a place to lie your pretty little head. Find anything else out there?"
"Just your dead friends," Rosita answered as Dwight started the motorcycle.
Dwight drove up to Daryl and looked at him. "You can have it back, just say the word."
Jewel exchanged glances with Sylvie who was standing behind Daryl.
"So nobody died," Negan said. "And you know what I think? I think you and I refined our understanding. I mean, Jewel here, she has a smart ass attitude that makes our relationship special, but she doesn't mean anything by it."
Jewel looked at Negan but refrained from saying anything.
Negan gave a small laugh at Jewel's reaction. "Let me ask you something Rick. You want me to go?"
Rick looked at Jewel then at Negan. "Yeah, I think that would be good."
"Then just say those two magical words," Negan told him.
"Could you be a little bit more specific, Negan?" Jewel asked. "I can guarantee I'm not thinking what you're thinking."
"Jewel," Rick said cautiously as he looked to the sky taking a breath. "Thank you."
Negan laughed. "Don't be ridiculous, thank you," he said as a walker approached. "Another one. You need our help. Davey hand me that candle stick over there," he said. "Better keep it away from Jewel, though, I think she'd cut your balls off and feed them to you for that trick with the girl," he said. "You know what I think Rick? I think we're both going to come out of this winners. Watch my form," he said as he killed the walker with the candlestick.
Jewel glanced at Rick who had started to raise the bat taking a relieved breath as he lowered it.
"Yep, win win," Negan said as he dropped the candlestick. "Clean that up for me for the next time. Let's move out," he said as he started to walk away, leaving Lucille. "Oh wait, how careless of me. You didn't think I was going to leave Lucille did you? I mean, after what she did, why would you want her? Thank you for being so accommodating, friend" he said as he took the bat. "Jewel, I'm surprised you didn't ask me for a minute with your brother."
"I'm not going to beg you," Jewel said as she looked at him.
Negan laughed. "Bet she begs in bed doesn't she Rick?" he asked. "You don't have to answer that, I mean, not in front of her. That wouldn't be polite and I'm nothing if I'm not polite," he said as he neared Rick's ear. "In case you haven't caught on, I just slid my dick down your throat and you thanked me for it," he said as he got in the van.
Jewel placed her hand on Rick's face, making him look at her. "He's gone for now," she told him as she kissed him. They watched as the convoy left, them both looking at Daryl. Rick walked into Alexandria with her and closed the gate. They both looked at each other as they walked over to Spencer.
"Spencer," Rick said as he walked up to him. "We took the guns that you had in your house. The saviors wanted ours, all of them. There were two missing from the inventory, they were going to kill Olivia. Spencer," he said to get the other man's attention.
"You went into my house?" Spencer asked.
"That's what you took out of that? He just told you they were going to kill Olivia and you're worried that we were in your house? That should not be your top concern right now," Jewel informed him.
"She's right, they were going to kill Olivia. I'm not faulting you for having the guns, we've done it," Rick said as he motioned between himself and Jewel. "But the food and liquor?" he questioned as he sighed. "That's cause you're small, Spencer. You're weak. You got lucky with the walls, you got lucky with us," he told him as he turned to leave, putting his hand on Jewel's back as they walked away.
"We should have made a deal with them when we could have," Spencer yelled after them. "Oh yeah, we're so lucky. You led us all to the promise land, isn't that right Rick? Jewel? Here we are," he yelled. "I guess Glenn and Abraham were lucky too?"
Both Jewel and Rick stopped, Rick not turning around, but Jewel turned and looked at him, before taking a step toward him. Rick grabbed her arm. "If you ever say anything like that to me, to us again, I'll break your jaw, knock your teeth out. You understand?" he asked.
"He asked if you understand," Jewel hissed at him.
"Say yes," Rick told the other man.
"Yes," Spencer said.
Rick and Jewel walked away.
