All Nightmare Long
Chapter 528
Author's Note: Who is ready to see Gregory be taken down? I always imagined Summer and Maggie both leading Hilltop together and knowing that Maggie is going to leave (which I plan to still have happen even though Rick is staying) Summer in charge makes sense. I'm horrible at fight scenes. Sorry. Please review. I don't know if anyone is reading if you don't review. Thank you
Hilltop:
Summer ran out on the porch of the infirmary trailer and glanced at the gate. "Oh my God," she told herself. She looked toward the trailer that Maggie, Sasha and Beth were in, seeing Sasha climbing on top of the trailer. "Sasha!" she yelled at the other woman.
"We have to turn that music off!" Sasha yelled at her.
"I'll meet you over there!" Summer yelled as Beth climbed on top of the trailer with Sasha. "Beth, you back us up, take out any walkers that get to close to us!" she ordered as she came jumped off the porch of the infirmary trailer.
"On it!" Beth yelled back as she jumped off the trailer.
Summer gave a backward glance, seeing the people of the Hilltop just standing around. "You're seriously going to let the three of us do all the work? Pick up a weapon and defend your home!" she yelled as she pierced a walker through the eye.
Maggie stood on top of the trailer looking around. "Jesus! Sasha, Summer and Beth are down there, they need help!"
Sasha and Beth both looked up at the Maggie both shaking they're heads. "Damn it Maggie," Sasha yelled as she turned to look at the walkers.
"Go," Beth yelled at her as both took out walkers, Sasha making her way to the car.
Jesus slid down from top of the balcony while Archie came out of his trailer, immediately killing a walker that was trying to claw at his window, while Jesus kicked walkers to the ground.
Maggie pointed at Kal and Eduardo. "You two get those gates closed!"
"On it!" Kal answered.
Archie decapitated a walker with his sword as it had approached Beth from behind while she was killing one in front of her.
"Thanks," Beth said.
"No problem," Archie told her.
Summer took out her knife and killed a walker as her and Sasha made it to the car, both staring at the car with the grates on it.
Both looked at the grates on the windows then at the hand the hand giving the middle finger on the back window and looked at each other. "Savior's," both said.
"Come on," Sasha said as she tried to take off the grate.
"We need tools!" Summer yelled as she turned and killed a walker with a knife.
Sasha felt something grab her and turned around quickly, fighting as Jesus blocked her. "Hi," he greeted.
"Sorry," Sasha told him.
"We need to close the gate!" Jesus told them.
"Yeah," Sasha and Summer both agreed. Sasha pointed at a walker behind Jesus who took care of it.
The three of them turned seeing a tractor coming toward them.
Archie looked at Beth as he killed a walker. "What is your sister doing?"
"Not resting, that's for sure!" Beth told him. "We need to help them clear the way to the gate so they can close it!"
Sasha shook her head as she went to help Maggie, Jesus grabbing her. "She's got it, we need you here," he told her as Summer, Beth, Archie, Sasha and him killed walkers. Maggie ran the tractor over the car, silencing the music as Kal and Eduardo both got the gate closed.
"Finally," Beth muttered.
Summer saw Gregory closing the blinds. "I think we just earned our spot to stay," she said as she looked at Beth.
Next Morning:
Archie and Jesus both walked into Greogry's office, as he poured himself a drink. "Either one of you want one?"
"It's a little early in the day to be drinking isn't it?" Archie asked.
"It was a big night filled with excitement," Gregory answered.
Archie and Jesus both looked at each other. "You stayed safe behind these walls, and watched the excitement," Archie pointed out.
"Which is the reason we are here, to see if you changed your mind about letting the four of them stay," Jesus responded.
"I don't care what they did, the answer is no," Gregory responded.
"I'm not turning away a pregnant woman who helped us," Jesus countered. "I'm not turning away Sasha either, or Beth or Summer."
"Who the hell are Beth and Sasha?" Gregory exclaimed.
"You're bloody useless, you know that?" Archie questioned.
"They're staying," Jesus told Gregory as he leaned on his desk.
"I'm backing Jesus up on this, they are bloody staying," Archie informed him.
"You're not in charge, Jesus, neither are you Archie," Gregory reminded him. "I am, I'm the one that has to look out for the safety of this place. Are you telling me you want to call the plays? Either one of you? After all this time? I mean, Archie, he is just going to go against me on everything because he blames me for not being able to keep Negan from taking his sister Ashley," he told him. "After I set the table here? Say the word, the broken gate, the savior's, the people, all of this can be yours, either of yours. Jesus you would have to stick around more than five minutes, you'd actually have to be a part of this place.
"Aislynn, her name is Aislynn and you offered her up like a piece of meat on a holiday platter," Archie yelled at him. "And there's plenty of bloody reasons to go against you."
"Archie," Jesus told the other man.
"Gregory," Sasha's voice called out as she opened the door, the four women walking in.
"Ah, I was just telling Miss. Katlyn to bring up her famous rhubarb preserves for the four of you, it's our way of saying thank you for helping out last night," Gregory said.
"It's Ms. Matlyn," Jesus corrected him.
"She's the one with the litter of kittens' right?" Beth asked.
"Yeah, how she keeps them alive is beyond me," Archie answered.
Summer cleared her throat. "We did more than help out, we did the heavy lifting. Only Jesus and Archie was out there with us. You were watching, from the safety of the office."
"Well it wouldn't do this place any good if I got hurt now would it? I mean a leader needs to protect himself," Gregory told them.
"This place would be better if you died. And a leader is supposed to protect his people," Summer told him.
"Rick would have been out there fighting right along with us," Beth added.
"Well, you can take them when you go, and you should go now, because the savior's could get back at any minute," Gregory told him.
"Maybe I should go greet them, tell them about our little deal," Summer threatened.
"Summer," Sasha warned. "Let Beth and Maggie stay," she countered.
"Sasha," Maggie tried to warn.
"Summer and I will go, but let them stay. We'll call it even for last night," Sasha told him.
"No deal," Gregory answered quickly. "But it's been lovely having you here."
"Just tell me how we can make this work," Sasha said, trying again.
"I think we'd need to meet on that one on one to explore," Gregory told Sasha.
"Go to Hell," Maggie seethed.
"Are you actually…imply…you know what I'm going to tell Miss. Katlyn to keep her preserves," Gregory said.
"You know maybe the decision isn't yours to make, alone," Summer said as she crossed her arms.
"What? I'm in charge," Gregory reminded her.
"And if the four of us weren't here, Hilltop would have been destroyed and Jesus and Archie probably would have been killed or injured while you were looking out the window like a scared little puppy. Maybe we should leave it up to the people, the people you claim to be protecting," Summer told him.
"It's not a bad idea," Archie said as he heard noises coming from outside as they all ran to the window.
Gregory took a breath seeing the savior's coming in the gate. "Do you know what they'll do if they find you here?" he asked as he pushed them out the room. "Jesus, Archie, get them to the closet."
"Gregory," Maggie said.
"Go get in there now, and don't move, you don't speak, and maybe you get out of this alive," Gregory hissed at them.
Beth stood still. "I'm not going anywhere," she told him.
"Bethie," Maggie said.
"You were in the line up, there isn't you were there with the rest of us," Summer said.
"I'll stay, you go, be safe," Archie said as they left. "I'm your bloody right hand man, from this moment on. You got it? Good," Archie said.
