All Nightmare Long

Chapter 540

Author's Note: Now time to get Carl to the Sanctuary. I made Summer mad by making her stay put, but it is what it is. She needed to stay put so she can deal with Gregory. Also going to work in a little Michonne and Mitch in here. Please review.

Mitch and Michonne's POV:

Mitch quietly followed Michonne, thinking she was going to try to follow Negan. He glanced ahead and noticed that she had disappeared. He went from behind the tree and looked for her.

"You need to work on being quieter, I know Daryl taught you better," Michonne said from behind him.

Mitch turned. "I thought I was being quiet. What are you doing?"

"I could ask you the same thing, you should get back home," Michonne told him as she turned quickly and put down a walker, grabbing his legs moving him. She sighed as she noticed Mitch following her. "Go home Mitch."

Mitch went in front of her. "Are you going after Negan?"

"Mitch, go home," Michonne repeated. "Your mother does not need to be worried about not knowing where you are."

"I'll just follow you, or I'll find a way to find him on my own. He has my dad and nobody seems to care," Mitch told her.

"You know that's not true, Mitch. We care, all of us. You think Jewel just wants to leave him there? Do you think Rick does?" Michonne asked.

"Rick stood there doing nothing, while he led dad around like a wounded puppy. I'm mad that he killed Glenn, and Abraham. I'm mad that we don't know how Maggie and the baby is. I'm mad that Summer isn't here to tell me it's going to be alright. Glenn was one of the Atlanta boys, and now he's gone. Dad is being held captive, and I don't know if he's going to be alive tomorrow. If you're going after Negan, I want to come. Even if you aren't going to go after him, I want to help. I can't be back in Alexandria doing nothing, just waiting for the next shoe to drop. That's why you're out here isn't it? Because you have to be doing something, like you have to make a plan. Please Michonne?" Mitch asked.

Michonne dropped the walker and put her arms around him. "You do exactly what I say? You got a knife?"

"Two," Mitch answered.

"Alright, grab the walker, you want to help, you can help with some of the lifting," Michonne teased.

Jesus and Carl's POV:

Jesus and Carl both heard the men get out of the truck and starting it, both of them coming out of the hiding spots. Jesus grabbed maple syrup and opened it, letting it trail from the back of the truck. He looked back at Carl. "Leaving a trail," he explained.

"How's Summer? Maggie? The baby?" Carl asked as he looked through boxes.

"Maggie and the baby are fine. They need to stay at Hilltop, to rest. Summer will be fine, if she just takes it easy," Jesus answered. "I think we're getting close. We should bale out, follow the rest of the way, see what we can see."

"I…how?" Carl asked.

"It isn't usually the fall that gets us, it's trying to fight it. Run with it or roll with it. The truck's going slow enough, we'll be in a blind spot. We can race behind one of the other cars," Jesus explained.

"If…I screw up…and we get caught," Carl stumbled.

"It'll be fine, we just got to go now," Jesus told him.

"Okay, show me first," Carl told him. He watched as Jesus rolled out of the truck and hid behind one of the cars. He waved at him from the back of the truck.

"Show me first," Jesus said as he shook his head. "Summer's going to kill me," he mumbled.

Sanctuary:

Carl heard the truck stop and Negan's voice saying, "Allright boys, let's get this haul unloaded and inside. I want to get back inside and unload a little myself."

Sylvie rolled her eyes. "I'll oversee unloading," she stated.

"That's my girl, stepping up. See anything you like, take it," Negan instructed.

"Negan, need to talk to you about redirect," the driver told him.

"What about the redirect?" Negan asked.

"It got screwed up, we're on it now, but it's a mess out there," the man answered.

"Whose job was that?" Negan asked.

"A pack and a tent, aw damn, I thought they packed this up tight," the driver said as he pulled the plastic around and tying it.

"Ah no worries, plenty more where that came from right?" the other man asked.

The man enters and picks up the case of liquor, it dropping, him seeing Carl. "What the hell?" he asks before Carl starts shooting.

Carl jumps up and goes to the entrance of the track. "Stay back! Drop your weapons, I only want Negan. He killed my friends, no one else needs to die."

"I think your mother may kill you when she finds out that you snuck in here," Syvlie told him. "Put down the gun, come on kid," she begged as she heard Negan whistle. "Negan, I've got this under control," Sylvie assured him.

"He's still holding a gun Sylv," Negan pointed out. "Damn, you are adorable. Did you pick that gun cause it looks cool?" he asked Carl as he moved one of his men in front of him. "You totally did right? Kid, I'm not going to lie, you scare the shit out of me," he said as he pushed the man toward Carl, him shooting, Dwight tackling him, Carl taking a hit at Dwight.

Dwight pulled the gun and pointed it at him. "Kid," he said.

"Dwight!" Sylvie called looking back at the fence seeing Daryl, shaking her head.

"Dwight, back off," Negan told him as Dwight took Carl's knife off him. He held out his hand. "Is that any way to treat our new guest? Come on kid, I'm gonna show you around. You know you do the same damn stink eye as your dad, except it's only half as good, cause well you know, you're missing an eye."

"Negan, stop being insensitive, he is a kid who lived through a traumatic experience. He doesn't need you to remind him," Sylvie said, sticking out her hand. "Come on kid, if you don't want to take his hand, take mine."
