Chapter 6: Digivolution - Part 3
Kuwagamon, a giant red beetle-like Digimon, 'glared' towards his targets. His large, hanging mouth opened and closed slightly as his mandibles clacked together. The Digimon's claws twitched with anticipation as the sunlight gleamed off of his red exoskeleton.
If there was one word to describe Kuwagamon, it would be 'terrifying.'
As the Hunters-in-training looked at each other, everyone all had one thought cross their minds, but Tokomon was the one who managed to voice it out loud.
"Well, poop."
And like that, the red armored Digimon roared loudly, shocking the group before lunging towards them…
What stopped him was a giant Glyph that Weiss had formed just in time. The red bug struggled against the Glyph, making Weiss strain to keep it from breaking. Then, the Glyph turned black from an infusion of Gravity Dust, launching an admittedly surprised Kuwagamon across the area, bouncing off of the ground a couple times.
Before he could get back up, numerous rocket-lockers landed just behind the students, who immediately got to their weaponry. Ruby, now holding a transformed Crescent Rose, rushed over to Weiss, giving a concerned look towards her partner.
"Weiss, are you okay?!"
The blanchette nodded, trying to steady her breathing, "I'm fine...but that thing-"
"Kuwagamon," Minomon said, trying to be helpful.
"-is strong." And as if on cue, the giant beetle got back up, snarling the entire time. It 'looked' at the non-Digimon with a little more caution…
"Do we have a plan?" Ren asked as he looked at Jaune, but it was Coco who answered.
"I have one," Coco called out, mechashifting Giandjuda from a simple handbag to an intimidatingly large minigun. "Smiles, Hood, and I will shoot at this idiot. Yatsu and Fox will hit it from the sides." At hearing their nicknames, both Nora and Ruby nodded, mechashifted their weapons to their ranged modes and got next to her, ready to make it hurt.
"What about me?" Velvet asked hopefully, but deflated when she recognized her leader's look.
"Sorry Bun," Coco said, "but you know the drill. If we can't bring it down, then you can tag in. Until then, look after the little guys." Velvet wanted to pout, but she stopped when she felt Calumon land on her shoulder and looked around her, seeing the Tamers drop their Digimon for her to watch over.
Gummymon hopped away towards his Tamer until he blocked her path, saying, "You can't go out there! Humans aren't supposed to fight Digimon… Digimon fight Digimon!"
"Oh yeah?" Yang challenged with a smirk, "Then this'll blow your mind." Gummymon could only stare at her in both amazement and incredulousness as she passed him. He thought that was cool and all, but was she suicidal?!
"Fire!" Coco gave the command and like that, a hail of bullets from both Crescent Rose and Gianduja, along with pink explosive grenades from Magnhild, peppered Kuwagamon. Growling, the Insect Digimon shielded himself from the projecticles with his four arms, his carapace withstanding the assault.
Kuwagamon lowered his arms when the incoming bullets stopped...and saw as Alistair and Yatsuhashi came in from the left and right, respectively, ready to land a couple good hits. Acting on impulse, the giant beetle swiped the dark-skinned redhead away, almost offhandedly, and caught Yatsuhashi's blade in one of his claws.
"Crunch Arm!" The Digimon hissed deeply and crushed Fulcrum in his claws before flinging the Mistralian boy to the side. Kuwagamon was caught off guard as Yang flew under him via shotgun blasts and delivered a devastating uppercut, making him stagger a step back. Recovering quickly, he slammed a pair of arms into the ground, sending the blonde berserker back a few feet while also cracking the pavement.
Kuwagamon felt his pincer pull a little to the left as Blake wrapped Gambol Shroud's ribbon around it and pulled herself up, landing on the beetle's head and slashing at it a couple of times. Flipping her into the air, the red Digimon snapped at her with his pincers…but to his growing frustration, the cat-eared Faunus seemed to vaporize into darkness, having used a Shadow duplicate to dodge the attack and had Yang pull her out of range with the ribbon.
That's when he felt another person on him- Pyrrha Nikos- who had leaped up onto his back and proceeded to slash (with Miló's short sword form) at the exposed areas between each piece of his carapace. That had actually hurt the giant insect. Kuwagamon shrieked, tried to shake her off, and lashed at her with all four of his arms, but she frustratingly managed to deflect his claws with Akoúo̱ as she attacked. She had finally jumped off of his back, pushing with both legs, to stay out of his reach.
Since she used a sniper rifle, Ruby was able to discriminately fire at the overgrown bug, making sure to not hit her teammates or friends as she fired five Burn Dust bullets at the Digimon.
Angry at being scorched and not being able to delete these pests, Kuwagamon roared towards the sky and hovered up into the air. Faster than he had any right to be, Kuwagamon zipped for the Hunters-in-training that were hanging in the back, their ranged weapons at the ready.
"Scatter!" Ruby called out, and just like that, most everyone (minus Velvet, who had taken the Digimon further away from the fight, as to not get in the way) had gotten away. Except for Coco, who didn't really have a way to dodge-
Right before Kuwagamon's strike could land, Weiss hastily put up another Glyph to shield them. This time, the red beetle continued to beat onto the Glyph, making the heiress sweat in the effort to keep it together.
That is when they heard a loud howl and a large, white Alpha Beowolf slammed into the Insect Digimon, trying to wrestle him away from the fencer. Weiss, recognizing it, turned to the side and smiled as she saw who had summoned it.
"Winter!" Weiss said as the older Schnee sister strode towards her, facing the red Digimon with her saber drawn.
"Weiss, are you alright?"
And to answer her, the younger sister said, "Yes Winter-"
"Shadow Claw!" And like that, the white Grimm howled in pain as it was sliced in half and dissipated. The Insect Digimon snarled at them, as if it was just getting really annoyed.
Winter narrowed her eyes at the beetle, showing it no sign of weakness. With a simple wave, she formed two Glyphs behind her and two more Alpha Beowolves formed, ready for her orders. The specialist formed another Glyph underneath, propelling herself with incredible speed with a prepared strike. With that, the two white Grimm rushed after her, getting into the fight as well.
The Hunters-in-training decided to follow her lead and help whenever there was an opening.
…
The Digimon could only look at the ensuing fight in awe. Who knew that humans- and Faunus- could fight?! Gummymon, in the meantime, watched with frustration at not being able to help… He looked at his fellow Digital Monsters with a face that was full of defiance, drawing their attention to him.
"C'mon guys, we need to help them!"
"And what can we do?" asked Budmon.
"Yeah," Bukamon continued, "we're just In-Training level Digimon. We'd just get in the way."
"And what?" Gummymon countered, "You're happy with them risking their lives for us?" Bukamon, along with the other Digimon, looked away, clearly ashamed that they couldn't be able to help.
"They're the DigiDestined. We're their Digimon partners. We're the ones who are supposed to fight the bad Digimon, not them!" Gummymon moved so that he was in front of the Digimon and standing on a rock, like a commander giving a rousing speech to his troops. "We may be small, but we are not weak! What we have inside is our true strength!"
The other Digimon look up to him, their expressions becoming more determined with each sentence. "We are Digimon! We are Digital Monsters! We are the champions!"
"Yeah!" the other Digimon cheered.
"Who's with me?!"
"YEAH!" All seven of the Digimon ran into the fray, pumped to bring the hurt to the big, dumb bug.
"No, wait-!" Velvet said, but what Calumon- who was still on her shoulder- had said made the rabbit Faunus pause.
"My head feels weird..." And from what Velvet could see, the white and purple Digimon's head-jewel started to faint glow with a red light…
The humans and Faunus looked towards whatever that noise was, only to see their Digimon running towards the beetle and stopped, giving him glares, snarls, and threatening poses. Before they could say anything, though, the Tamers' DV-Scrolls began to make a strange and loud noise.
[play the dub Digimon theme]
And like that, the Digivices jumped out of their pockets and hovered (somehow) in the air, opening themselves up and revealing- and voicing- a message.
"[DIGIVOLUTION: ACTIVATED!]"
"Gummymon-!"
"Babydmon-!"
"Minomon-!"
"Tokomon-!"
"Budmon-!"
"Poromon-!"
"Bukamon...digivolve to-!"
Just as the rest of the faculty, some Atlas troops, and a handful of student teams had arrived to see what all of the commotion was about, each Digimon was surrounded by an egg-shaped light that grew slightly in size. From within, the Digimon changed…
And each one burst out of their faux Digi-Eggs with dramatically altered forms.
Gummymon had digivolved into a slightly green-tinted cream-colored Digimon that had a few solid green patches around his neck, ears, arms, and legs. His ears had become even longer and they ended into three points. His fingers and toes had become black and a pair of dark colored eyes gleamed with determination. "Terriermon!"
Babydmon had digivolved into a Digimon covered in turquoise-colored scales with a pair of red antler-like horns and wings. His underside had become white and a pair of red-colored eyes gleamed with calmness. "Dracomon!"
Minomon had digivolved into a green-colored Digimon with magenta-colored claws on each of her ten limbs along with magenta-colored pincers and a mark on her head. Her thorax had a black band around it and a pair of light blue-colored eyes gleamed with curiosity and loyalty. "Wormmon!"
Tokomon had digivolved into an orange-colored Digimon that also had a cream-colored underbelly. His digits had become black and a pair of light blue-colored eyes gleamed with understanding and mischievousness. "Patamon!"
Budmon had digivolved into a green Digimon with four stubby limbs and her head had become pink and flower-like. Her eyes and mouth were dark, blank-looking holes,.. Though, oddly enough, her expression came across as compassionate. "Lalamon!"
Poromon had digivolved into a Digimon with red-colored feathers covering her body while white-colored feathers covered her head. A black belt wrapped around her head, helping to hold a distinctive feather to the back of it. She also had black claws on her wings, yellow feet and beak, and a pair of light blue-colored eyes gleamed with intelligence and gentleness. "Hawkmon!"
Bukamon had digivolved into a green-colored Digimon who also had dark markings on top of his body and a white-colored underbelly. He also had a singular white claws on each foot, a reddish-orange fin on his head, and a pair of reddish-orange eyes gleamed with patience and reliability. "Betamon!"
Everyone, from the ones who were fighting to the ones who had just arrived, could only stare at the newly digivolved Digimon in shock, awe, or both. Even Kuwagamon was staring at them (whether he was slack jawed or not, no one would ever know), having never witnessed seven Digimon digivolve at the same time.
The seven Digimon glared at the giant beetle, before Terrier pointed towards him and shouted, "Let's get that overgrown bug!"
"YEAH!" And like that, the Rookie Digimon were on the attack.
"Sticky Net!" Wormmon called out, launching several lines of strong silk around Kuwagamon's legs. She pulled on the threads to get as taught as they could, with Betamon helping her pull.
From Jaune and Weiss' DV-Scrolls (which the DigiDestined had nabbed their DV-Scrolls before they could hit the floor), their Digimon Analyzer apps activated.
"[Betamon / Level: Rookie / Type: Amphibian / Attribute: Virus / Family: Deep Savers / Memory Size: 5G]"
"[Description: A Rookie level Amphibian Digimon. While it has a gentle nature, once angered, it will not hesitate to use its Electric Shock attack. It prefers to live in swamps and muddy streams.]"
"[Attacks: Electric Shock - Zaps the enemy with an arc of electricity / Fin Cutter - Throws an energy projection of its fin at an enemy, cutting them / Water Tower - Surprises the enemy by summoning a water spout under them]"

"[Attacks: Sticky Net - Shoots a net of adhesive and strong threads / Worm Tail - Pinches the enemy with the pincers on the end of its tail / Thread Punch - Hits the enemy with a ball of silk, attached with a thread, from its mouth]"
While the two Digimon were nowhere strong enough to actually pull the red beetle off of his feet, they were successful in their trick. Kuwagamon, either taking a step forward or back, tripped and fell forward, his body slamming into the ground. When the bug tried to get up, Wormmon shot out more nets to restrict his arms, sticking them to the ground, too.
That's when Hawkmon and Lalamon went in to attack.
"Rapid Peck!" Hawkmon called out as she landed to the right of Kuwagamon's head and (out of Kuwagamon's pincers' reach) pecked at it with the speed and force of a woodpecker.
"Lala Spiral!" The leaves on Lalamon's head began to spin rapidly, looking like a buzzsaw, before she used them to cut at the red exoskeleton. Kuwagamon tried to thrash about, screeching in pain as the attacks actually damaged him.
"Thread Punch!" Wormmon called out again, shooting a sizable glob of silk towards the red armored Digimon, lodging it in his mouth and effectively muffled his enraged voices.
And just like before, the Digimon Analyzer apps in both Pyrrha and Blake's DV-Scrolls activated.
"[Hawkmon / Level: Rookie / Type: Bird / Attribute: Free / Family: Wind Guardians / Memory Size: 5G]"
"[Description: A Rookie level Bird Digimon. It is a polite Digimon that always has a calm disposition. It is said to be descended from an ancient line of Digimon that flourished millennia ago. It prefers to watch an opponent with its sharp eyes and quick wit before engaging.]"

"[Attacks: Seed Blast - Fires nuts rapidly and with force / Lala Spiral - Spins the leaves on its head to cut the enemy / Sing a Song - Lulls the enemy to sleep with a lullaby]"
As the two attacked, Terriermon, Patamon, and Dracomon grouped together several feet from the bug's face.
Looking between the two, the long-eared Digimon asked, "Ready?" Both Patamon and Dracomon nodded and the three faced Kuwagamon. Seeing as it was their turn at him, Lalamon and Hawkmon flew away in different directions so that they wouldn't get hit.
Terriermon began to spin around rapidly before he called out, "Terrier Tornado!" and launched a miniature twister towards Kuwagamon, but before it hit, Patamon and Dracomon launched their attacks.
"Boom Bubble!"
"Baby Breath!"
The burst of air from Patamon combined with the miniature tornado, increasing its size while Dracomon's small fireball ignited it into a miniature fire tornado. The resulting firestorm struck Kuwagamon, scorching him within the inferno. He thrashed three times as hard and tried to shriek from the pain. It also didn't help that the silk that held him down and shut the giant bug up also caught on fire, causing even more damage.
As the onlookers gaped at the Digimon's combined attack, the Digimon Analyzer app in Yang, Nora, and Ren's DV-Scrolls activated.
"[Terriermon / Level: Rookie / Type: Beast / Attribute: Vaccine / Family: Nature Spirits, Virus Busters / Memory Size: 5G]"
"[Description: A Rookie level Beast Digimon. Unlike its twin, Terriermon is very willful, but with effort, it can become a reliable and loyal friend. It may not appear to be a 'Combat Species' Digimon, but it is powerful.]"
"[Attacks: Terrier Tornado - Creates a small tornado by spinning its ears / Spinning Slap - Slaps the enemy with its large ears / Blazing Fire - Shoots a compressed blast of superheated air]"
"[Dracomon / Level: Rookie / Type: Dragon / Attribute: Data / Family: Dragon's Roar / Memory Size: 5G]"
"[Description: A Rookie level Dragon Digimon. It is said to be the progenitor of all Dramon-species Digimon. It possesses a hidden strength and wit that can't be imagined from it's small build. If it's "Gekirin" scale is touched, it'll go into a blind rage. It also likes to collect "shiny things."]"
"[Attacks: Baby Breath - Breaths out a small flame at the enemy / Tail Smash - Spins and delivers a strong attack by its tail / Great Strike - It's horns glow before unleashing a high-temperature beam from its mouth]"
And finally...
"[Patamon / Level: Rookie / Type: Mammal / Attribute: Data / Family: Virus Busters, Wind Guardians / Memory Size: 5G]"
"[Description: A Rookie level Mammal Digimon. It flutters through the air by flapping the large wing-like ears on its head, though it isn't very fast. Many consider this small Digimon to be very cute. Even though Patamon doesn't have a Holy Ring, it exhibits its hidden holy power.]"
"[Attacks: Boom Bubble - Shoots a burst of air at the enemy / Breeze Blaster - Shoots clouds at the enemy, blinding them / Wing Slap - Slaps the enemy with its wing-like ears]"
The Digimon regrouped in front of their Tamers, as if they were ready to protect them as the humans and Faunus starred in both awe and apprehension. And just like that, the fire tornado disappeared into thin air.
"Hot damn..." Yang murmured to herself. Standing beside her, Blake could only nod. None of them would have anticipated that the cute little monsters that had hatched yesterday could've been capable of doing that.
They watched as a severely burned and partially blackened Kuwagamon shakily got up onto its two legs, shook itself off, and roared at them, though the roar was noticeably weaker than before.
"Seriously?!" Jaune said incredulously, "What does it take to get rid of this thing?" The others stepped up next to the Digimon, ready to fight alongside them as some of the onlookers prepared their weapons.
But a particular Tamer had another idea…
Nora, looking Dracomon up and down, spotted something strange. The ginger narrowed her eyes in thought… She knew that she was probably the only one who would've noticed it, but she did. Her instincts told her that it was important and then she remembered what her DV-Scroll had said.
Smiling, Nora zipped to her Digimon partner and unceremoniously held him still by his shoulders from behind. Everyone, especially Dracomon, looked at her in surprise and confusion.
"Nora, what are you-?!" Dracomon tried, but what Nora did stopped him.
With a finger, the hammer-wielder gently tapped the top of Dracomon's head, directly in between his two horns. "Boop," she said happily. She had tapped one of his scales, a scale that was nearly imperceptible out of place, but it was definitely there. It was his Gekirin scale…
The little Digimon's head snapped around towards Kuwagamon, who had stilled in confusion at the action. That is when everyone had noticed something was wrong; Dracomon's eyes and horns glowed a faint red color and he gave a snarl towards the Insect-type Digimon.
Ren thought of the reason for these changes...and then it hit him. "Everyone, move out of the way!" The Mistralian boy warned as he dove towards the back, away from them. The others could only blink in confusion by his reaction. Patamon was about to ask what was wrong, but then they noticed a red light coming from Dracomon's snarling mouth.
The rest (minus Nora) followed Ren's example and dove away from Dracomon.
Dracomon suddenly opened his jaws widely, calling out "Great Strike!" and fired a red heat-ray from it, headed straight for Kuwagamon. The giant beetle Digimon shrieked as the attack struck hard, sending him flying across the courtyard and embedding him deep into the wall.
And just like that, the red light had faded from Dracomon's eyes and horns, leaving him blinking in confusion. "What just happened?" he asked innocently.
Everyone blinked at the dragonic Digimon, even as Nora picked him up and hugged him. This day just couldn't get any weirder…
They snapped their heads towards the sounds of rubble moving to see Kuwagamon, again, getting back up unsteadily. Only this time, he was way more disheveled: his carapace had several large cracks in it and his right mandible and one of his left arms were missing, presumably from Dracomon's attack.
"Oh, for the love of..." Yang groaned in frustration. Terriermon merely glared at the giant red beetle.
"It is quite persistent..." Pyrrha commented.
"Unfortunately, it seems so," Hawkmon responded.
"It doesn't matter," Ruby said as she replaced her ammo, causing everyone to turn to her. "We can fight..." She turned her head, facing the Digimon. "We can all fight. And we will not back down from this thing-"
"Kuwagamon," Wormmon said helpfully.
"-Kuwagamon, especially if it's going to attack everyone." Ruby turned back towards the large Digimon as he tried to stand unsteadily and mechashifted Crescent Rose back into its scythe form. "And we'll do whatever we have to to bring it down."
The others, her teammates and friends, looked at the little reaper with understanding, smirking at her determination to help others. The Digimon, however, looked at her with admiration in their eyes.
They all turned to face the red Digimon, readying their weapons and preparing for another counterattack. Several of the onlookers, mostly friends of the two teams, teachers, and some Atlesian troopers (lead by Ironwood himself) joined them. They glared at the burnt bug as he glared back.
Contrary to popular belief, Kuwagamon weren't stupid. They were instinctual. Their instincts to hunt and to defend territory were what dominated most of what could be considered Kuwagamon's behaviors.
One thing cross Kuwagamon's mind as he glared at the humans that he had tried to delete, to the Digimon that had severely damaged him, and then to the other humans- though he thought that it was strange that some of them had animal parts- that had arrived and were also ready to fight him.
That one thing told him that there was only one thing to do.
The humans, Digimon, and Faunus all blinked in confusion when they saw Kuwagamon upen his wings up and unsteadily flew up into the air. He wobbled to the side a little before flying right into a DigiGate that had opened up and closed as soon as he was in it.
…
Everyone looked at each other for a moment, confused.
"Did we..." Betamon tried, not wanting to jinx it. "Did we win?" They waited a moment for something insane to happen.
"I think so," Jaune answered. Another minute passed by. Then the Digimon cheered and rushed towards their respective partners, surprising them. Jaune looked down to see the red-finned Digimon look up at him with a knowing smirk. "Uh… Bukamon?"
"Actually, it's Betamon now, but yeah." The amphibious Digimon's smirk grew as he saw Jaune think something over…
"So..." Jaune paused before pushing onward, "Is your name going to change every time you digivolve?"
Betamon nodded...or did the closest thing he could do to a nod. "Yep. Don't worry though, you'll get used to it."
Near them, Dracomon gave his Tamer a wary look. "Nora," he began, "how did you know where my Gekirin scale was?"
The excitable ginger shrugged nonchalantly and replied, "Why wouldn't I, Dracomon?" The Digimon in question blinked in surprise.
"You know-"
"Of course, silly," Nora said, answering his question before he even finished asking it. "It would be kinda rude to not remember your name." Near them, Jaune slumped his shoulders as he stood, Betamon patting his foot in sympathy.
"This is just going to be a thing with her, isn't it?" Dracomon deadpanned, to which Ren nodded.
"You'll get used to it." Just then, Patamon lazily flew up and landed on his head, prompting him to look up and meet his Digimon's blue eyes.
"Hey, I'm Patamon by the way," the winged rodent-like Digimon said happily enough. Ren smirked before lifting Patamon off of his head and held unto him in both arms.
"Glad to meet you, Patamon," the Mistralian boy said, scratching the Digimon's chin.
Pyrrha could only blink as Hawkmon approached her and bowed. "Salutations Pyrrha," the bird-like Digimon said in a polite feminine voice, "the name of my Rookie form is Hawkmon. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions."
After a second to process, Pyrrha bowed her head in response. "Uh...likewise, Hawkmon."
"And do not worry, I am much more capable now than what I was before." Pyrrha nodded her head in acknowledgement. "Though, um… If you want to help with grooming my feathers, I certainly won't stop you!"
Pyrrha smiled gently as she said, "I'd be more than happy to."
Terriermon rushed towards his Tamer and jumped up to land on her shoulder. The long-eared Digimon puffed up his chest proudly and said, "We totally kicked butt!"
Yang could only chuckle, "You little guys really did."
"My name's Terriermon now," the dog and rabbit-like Digimon clarified, eliciting a cocked eyebrow and a smirk from the blonde.
"Does that mean I get to call you 'Terri?'"
Terriermon gave a mischievous smirk that matched hers. "Only if I get to call you 'Yangster.'" That made Yang bark out a laugh at that. Oh, this was going to be fun.
Blake could only watch in surprise and curiosity as Lalamon floated towards her, using the leaves on her head to hover in place like a Bullhead turbine.
"Hello~" Lalamon said in a sing-song sort of way.
"Uh..." Blake said lamely.
"Oh, I'm Lalamon, in case you didn't catch it before." Lalamon twirled around when Blake nodded. "It was kind of a stressful situation. Perfectly understandable." Blake nodded again, but smirked at the Digimon's cheerfulness. It reminded her of Ruby, in a way.
Weiss (along with Winter, who looked on at a respectable distance...though she was quite shocked by her sister's Digimon's appearance) blinked as she watched Wormmon crawl up to her and greet her shyly. "Um… H-hi. I'm Wormmon, just so you know."
Weiss knew why she was acting this way; the last time her Digimon changed form, it took the heiress by surprise and the caterpillar-like Digimon wanted to make a good impression.
Smirking kindly, Weiss took a couple steps and picked Wormmon up, holding her in both arms warmly.
"I'm happy to meet you, Wormmon." The Digimon blinked, but soon smiled- well, not 'smiled,' but her expression was noticeably more relaxed and happier.
Winter let out a breath as she thought to herself, I'm never going to get used to this, am I?
Ruby gave a big grin as she saw Calumon and Velvet walk up, but it receded when she saw the former rubbing his head while the latter looked worriedly at him.
"What's wrong, Calumon?"
"My head felt tingly..." The others who were nearby stopped to listen, also growing considered. "But not anymore."
"He said that when the others...transformed earlier," Velvet explained, a little sad that she couldn't have helped the little Digimon more.
"Does that mean..." Hawkmon theorized, a claw tapping on her beak, "that Calumon's power was what helped us digivolve?"
Calumon nodded, but then looked confused. "Yeah, but it never felt like that before… Almost like it was forced out. Causing Digivolution always came easy to me; I even did it in my sleep!"
"Perhaps it's because we're in the Real World, not the Digital World?" Hawkmon surmised. A majority of people nodded and seemingly accepted that as the reason why.
Terriermon huffed, which prompted Yang to ask, "What's up?"
Terriermon shook his head and said disappointingly, "I thought we had digivolved to help you all on our own..." Yang smirked reassuringly and ruffled her Digimon partner's head.
"Don't sweat it. There's always next time!"
The long-eared Digimon's expression became much more determined. "Yeah!"
"Quit being such a sour puss!" Nora cried out, holding Dracomon uncomfortably close to the two and making Yang take a step back. "We should be celebrating! Can you believe that Draco did that?!"
"I still can't believe that you managed to find my Gekirin scale..." Dracomon deadpanned before Nora began to twirl him around until Ren had to step in and she let her Digimon wobble around. That had earned a few chuckles from those around them.
As the other teams- BRNZ, NDGO, and SSSN- had come closer and began asking questions and looking at the Digimon with curiosity, Ozpin, Glynda, and Ironwood watched. Ozpin wore a hopeful smile while Glynda seemed much more concerned than he was.
As for the General… Ironwood was watching each of the Digimon critically and thinking deeply on the fights that were to come.
...To be continued.
/~/
Just fyi, that is not how all of the Digivolution processes are gonna play out exactly. They will be much more...detailed (?) as each Champion/Ultimate/Mega form is first shown off. Calumon just gave them a freebie this time.
Yeah, sorry that this took so long. Writer's block is a bitch lol
I'll be going on a little break, but I will return!
...Basically, I think the best way for me to write these things is to binge-write it out; write a large chunk of one fanfic and when I'm posting it, write a large chunk of another, and so on and whatever.
It worked wonders last time. *shrug* And when I've just gotten into the groove of it, too lol
Later!
Constructive criticism is always welcome.
