Chapter 551

Author's Note: It's been a couple weeks. I don't have a schedule for this story. It's when I have time and when I have motivation. It's been 5 years, you think I'd quit now? Nope. I just have long days at work. Very long days. Please review.

Carl and Joey's POV:

Joey arched an eyebrow as he saw the trucks approaching from his guard post. "Negan!" he yelled down as he climbed down to open the gate. He glanced at the truck as he opened it. "Carl?"

"Just bringing the boy home, your girlfriend find her way home yet?" Negan asked.

"Not yet," Joey said as he crossed his arm. "Carl what were you doing outside the gate?"

"Rick can't seem to keep his kids at home, now can he? Now enough chit chat, come on Carl, lets go see your folks," Negan said as he got out of the truck.

"Are you OK?" Joey asked Carl.

"The kid is fine, I wouldn't hurt him. Come on, what do you take me for?" Negan asked Joey.

"For self-preservation and preservation of this town, I'll keep those thoughts to myself," Joey said.

"Smart of you," Negan said. "Come on kid."

Joey glared at Carl, taking a breath as he closed the gate.

"What's he doing here?" Rosita asked as she came up.

"To bring Carl home and don't ask me why he was out side the gate, I don't know," Joey answered as he followed them with his eyes.

"We should think of a way to take him out," Rosita told Joey.

Joey grabbed her arm and pulled her aside. "Are you insane right now? Talking like that with Negan's group right inside the gate? Do you want to die?"

"If I get revenge, it doesn't matter," Rosita informed him.

"What if he doesn't kill you? What if he decides to kill me? Or Father Gabriel? Or Quinn? I get it, I do. You don't think I'm angry? You don't think I want revenge? I do, but I'm not painting a target on anyone's back by plotting my own revenge. I know Jewel, she is out there talking to Rick about it, about fighting back. We just need to trust that he'll come to his senses," Joey told her.

"And what if he doesn't?" Rosita asked.

"He will," Joey said as he heard a knock on the gate. "Jes?" he said as he opened the gate to her and Garza. "What's he doing here? Where is the car?"

"Stashed it. We saw Negan coming up. What the hell is he doing back here?" Jes asked. "And Garza is going to get a first hand look at Negan."

"He brought Carl back, don't ask," Joey said.

"Where is he heading?" Jes demanded.

"Rick's," Joey answered.

"Great, you guard the gate. Rosita you know him, alright. He belongs here, just go with it. Joey come on we need to get up to the house," she said as the two of them took off.

Olivia's POV:

Olivia went to the door as Negan knocked. He went in first then followed by Carl.

"Carl where's?" Olivia questioned in a low voice.

"Enid and Lexi are both fine," Carl answered as Negan whistled.

"Great, great, great," Negan said as he walked around. "Where's Rick and Jewel?"

"Um, I," Olivia started stammering.

"Don't care," Negan interrupted. "Where's Rick and Jewel?"

"Um out scavenging for you," Olivia responded.

"Cool, I'll wait," Negan said.

"Um they went out pretty far, they might not be back today. We're running really low on everything, we're practically starving here," Olivia said as she was breaking down in tears.

"Starving? You? By practically," Negan said as he used air quotes, "you mean not really."

Olivia put her hands up to her face and started crying. Negan turned around and looked at Carl. "Really?" he questioned with a grin on his face. "You people seriously do not have a sense of humor," he told Carl as he ran his hand down his face. He turned when the door opened to see Jes and Joey walk in.

"What did you do to her?" Jes asked as she walked over to her. "Are you alright?"

Joey stood beside Carl watching Jes try to be consoling.

"I didn't do anything, just made a poor joke. Excuse me, what's your name again?" he asked Olivia.

"Olivia," she scathed out.

Jes glanced at Negan, watching him carefully.

"Right, Olivia," Negan said as he put his hand on her elbow having her turn around.

"Don't touch her," Jes said. "She's obviously upset, you did threaten to kill her the last time you were here," she informed him.

"Right, I did," Negan said. "That was business, not personal. I am sorry for having been so rude to you just now. It looks like I'm going to be here for a while, awaiting your fearless leaders' return, and if you'd like, I think it would be enjoyable to screw your brains out. I mean if you're agreeable to it."

Joey started to move forward but before he could Olivia slapped Negan in the face. Joey bit his lip as he choked back a laugh.

Negan looked at Olivia then moved closer. "I'm about 50% more into you now, just saying."

"You know, Jewel isn't going to be happy when she finds out that you have no respect for personal space. Olivia's not interested, so please back up and let her gather herself," Jes said. "Go wash your face," she instructed the other woman.

"Well I'm just going to put my feet up and wait for my stuff to get here," Negan said as he turned around. "Olivia, would you be a lamb and make us a little lemonade? I know I left you all some of that good powdered stuff."

"I'm not supposed to," Olivia started to say.

"Make it!" Negan ordered. "Make it, take your time. Make it good."

"It's Ok, Olivia, we'll stay," Jes said, knowing she was babysitting. "You don't have a problem with that right Negan?" she asked.

"More the merrier," Negan answered. "To be honest, you're hotter then Olivia anyway. You know I made her an offer…"

Jes put up her hand. "Let me stop you right there, I can pretty well guess the offer and, well, the last person I was with was a guy, so now it's a girls' turn. Always a rule for me, you know equal rights and all," she said, cutting him off. She really didn't care if it was a male or female, but it certainly wouldn't be Negan. "Carl, why is your eye uncovered?"

"It's bad ass right?" Negan asked.

"It's also very unhealthy and can cause an infection. But I'm not his mother, I'll let Jewel yell at you for that. You remember Jewel right? Mother bear? This is not going to make her happy," Jes told him.

"Yeah, I remember Jewel, hard to forget a woman like her," Negan said as he turned around. "Now give me the grand tour."
