All Nightmare Long

Chapter 553

Author's Note: I want to get the show down over with Negan and Rick and Jewel, but I need to rescue Daryl. Decisions, decisions. We'll see where this takes me. Please review.

Sanctuary:

Sylvie hid behind a wall after following Sherry for a while. It wasn't hard to figure out what she was going to do but she wasn't going to let her do it alone. She moved closer and grabbed her, putting her hand over her mouth. "It's me. I'm going to let you go, don't scream," she warned as she removed her hand off the other woman's mouth.

"What are you doing down here?" Sherry asked.

"The same thing you are," Sylvie told her.

"I don't know what you are talking about," Sherry responded.

"Don't bullshit me, Sherry. You are down at the cells, you are out of you're 'I'm married to Negan' black secretarial dress, and you have a bag on your back. I agree with what you are doing, but you aren't doing it. I need you to go out the back way, away from the guards. They only do patrol once an hour, in the back, if you go now you have twenty minutes to disappear before they do a perimeter check," Sylvie instructed.

"You're just letting me go? Without telling Negan? What about Daryl? I'm not leaving him," Sherry said.

"Of course I'm not telling Negan or Dwight. I didn't see anything, I'm spending the afternoon with my 'husband', " Sylvie answered. "Don't worry about Daryl, I'll take care of it."

"You're going to get caught, if you stay here," Sherrie said.

"No I won't, but if you stay here, you will," Sylvie said as she hugged her. "Good luck. Get as far as you can away from this place, and don't look back. Go," Sylvie instructed. "Don't get caught."

"I could say the same to you," Sherrie said as she took out a note and a key. "I was going to slip this to Daryl."

"I've got it," Sylvie said as she watched Sherrie turn around. "Go," she instructed again. Sylvie watched her disappear from her sight and continued to walk down the halls to the cells. If she was caught, she could easily say she was checking on things for Negan while he was gone. The people who worked down here was workers and would be to afraid to ask Negan directly. She made it to the cell and knocked slightly. "I'm opening the door," she said simply. She opened the door and looked at Daryl. "You ready to get out of here?" she asked holding up the motorcycle key.

Daryl gave a short laugh. "I'm supposed to just believe you're going to let me out of here?"

"No, I'd be surprised if you believed that this wasn't some sort of trap. But you have two choices, one take the key, and knock me out and leave me on the ground. That would cause a serious problem for me when Negan returns, because I'm not supposed to be down here. Or, you can trust me and let me help you avoid the most populated areas. Either way, the key is yours," Sylvie said as she held it out to him.

"Why are you doing this?" Daryl asked.

"Because I'm not Negan," Sylvie said. "Now we don't have a lot of time, so are you going to punch me or are you going to let me help you?"

"If this is a trick, I'll kill you," Daryl warned.

"I wouldn't expect anything less, but let's keep the killing and talking to a minimum," Sylvie instructed as they walked down a hallway, her holding up a hand when she heard something break and heard voices. She motioned for Daryl to turn around and grabbed his shoulder nodding to a door.

Daryl opened it both going in, Sylvie seeing it was Dwight's old quarters. She threw Daryl a shirt after he checked the other room, him seeing peanut butter grabbing it sitting down opening it.

"I can escort you up to the stairs of the front entrance, from there you'll have to go on your own. I don't have a gun, but I have this," Sylvie said, quietly as she pulled out a hunting knife. "You didn't think I was going to send you out there empty handed, did you?"

Daryl hesitantly takes it. "What if they find out it was you?"

"They won't, there was someone else trying to help you, they'll assume it was her," Sylvie said as she put her ear to the door. "And, I have someone who will alibi me, at least I'm 99% sure he will. If not, then he's the one to get hurt and I know I've been played. I know you're still skeptical, but I'm still the same person I was out in those woods, the same person who was trying to get away from Negan. He's taking the kid back to Alexandria, I would have gone with him, but he wanted me to stay here. And I saw a chance to help you. Sherry needed to get out of here, away from Negan and Dwight. I can't help myself, but I can help her, and help you. The side door is a better option then the front. It won't be as populated, and it'll lead you right to the motorcycles," she told him.

"How far?" Daryl asked.

"Not that far, just take the same hallway that was blocked before. I can go make sure it's clear," Sylvie offered.

"No, it's OK, you've done enough, I can make it from here," Daryl told her as he stood up.

"You're not gonna hit me now are you?" Sylvie questioned.

"No, but doesn't mean I won't kill anyone who gets in my way," Daryl said.

"I wouldn't expect any less," Sylvie told him. "I'm sorry I can't do more."

"Doing more than most," Daryl said.

"You should go," Sylvie said as she stood behind the door to let him out. She nodded at him as he left.

Maggie,Enid, Sasha and Lexi POV:

Maggie munched on a cucumber while Enid chopped vegetables. Maggie turned as Sasha and Lexi came in. "Is that an apple pie?"

Sasha looked at her and uncovered it. "How could you know that?"

"I could smell it from outside the door," Maggie said.

"That's one good sniffer," Lexi told her.

Maggie took the apple pie from Sasha.

"You baked it?" Enid asked.

"Some guy gave it to us for what we did," Sasha answered.

"There's a lot of grateful people, I talked with Archie, Beth was there, he said that everyone is thankful," Lexi said.

"The guy's little girl said you should run for President, or be co-president with Summer, for Hilltop" Sasha said.

"Maggie for president," Enid said with a laugh.

"Maggie and Summer would both be better leaders than Gregory," Lexi said as Maggie sat down digging into the pie with a spatula. "People are seeing that they have a choice."

"Um, do you want a plate?" Enid asked.

"No, I'm good," Maggie answered as she looked over to Sasha who was looking down at two knives. "Did Jesus give you those?" Sasha just nodded. "Is he still around? There's some things I want to add to his list before he goes out. Kids need something to write with, pens, pencils."

"Are you already President?" Enid asked.

"She's just finding out what people need, something that Gregory would never do," Lexi answered.

"She's right, I'm just talking to people. We live here now too," Maggie said.

"Jesus left this morning," Sasha answered. "He told me to tell you but I forgot."

"Ok, next time," Maggie said. "I'm going to get some milk," she said.

"Let me," Sasha said.

"No I'm good," Maggie said as she walked out the door.

Enid and Lexi both looked at Sasha. "What?"

"You're lying to Maggie about Jesus," Enid said.

"What makes you say that?" Sasha asks.

"I'm your sister, I can tell when you're lying," Lexi told her. "What's going on?"

"Plus a girl who lives in the house was telling me about everyone, and she said that Jesus is a runner and that he left yesterday, not this morning," Enid said.

"Sasha, tell us," Lexi said.

"It's for her own good," Sasha answered.

"Why?" both teens asked.

"Because I need to do something, and she'll want to help me," Sasha said.

"You want to kill Negan," Enid simply stated.

"Were you going to tell me about this plan?" Lexi asked standing up.

"Lex, I'm doing this for you, for all of us," Sasha said.

"What if you had help?" Enid asked interrupting the fighting sisters.

"If we had help, a lot of people, then I wouldn't be afraid to tell her because then she would know it wasn't on her to do it," Sasha explained.

"Does Beth know? Summer?" Lexi questioned.

"Beth doesn't, Summer does," Sasha answered. "But Summer is injured, so it's just me."

"It isn't just you," Enid interrupted. "You and Maggie aren't the only ones who want take Negan out."

"No Enid that's not happening," Sasha said. "And if you care about her, neither one of you will say anything to her or Beth. We have to keep her safe. Enid you have to keep her safe."

"It isn't just you," Enid said.

"It sure looks like it," Sasha said.

"I've been talking with people, you, Maggie, Summer and Beth made them see that there is another way of doing things. You don't have to do this alone, you don't have to risk yourself," Lexi told her.
