All Nightmare Long

Chapter 563

Author's Note: Team family is on the move. I know I haven't shown a lot of what is happening with Carol, but we will catch up with her and the Kingdom. I'm going to change it with Jewel being there she is going to make Morgan tell her where she is. You know our Jewel. But we got some things to do before then. I think Joey may notice Archie has a crush on our Beth. Please review.

Joey and Beth's POV:

Joey glanced back to the back of the van at Archie who was looking forward at Beth. Joey then looked at Beth who was sitting by him. "Thought you would be staying with Maggie," he told her.

"Maggie wanted me to come. Summer's staying with her. Surprised you didn't stay with her," Beth stated.

"She told me to come, so I came," Joey told her. "But this gives us a chance to talk, been a while since we talked. It seems like you have an admirer," he teased.

"Archie? No, we're just friends, or beginning of friends," Beth stated.

"That's why he can't take his eyes off of you," Joey teased as he playfully hit her shoulder with his.

"Oh stop it," Beth said as she shook her head. "It doesn't matter anyway."

"What doesn't matter?" Joey questioned.

"If he likes me, or if I like him. It doesn't matter," Beth answered.

Joey turned in his seat and looked at his friend. "Why doesn't it matter? Of course, it matters."

"Maggie just lost Glenn. This isn't the time to start anything new, even if there was anything to start. It would be like a slap in Maggie's face, if something happened, which I'm not saying it would," Beth told him.

"Hey, Maggie wouldn't want you to give up a small chance of happiness for her. She would want you to embrace any chance that you have," Joey told her.

"How do you know?" Beth asked.

"Maggie loved Glenn, just like I love Summer, and Rick and Jewel love each other. We all know what it is to have that person we can rely on no matter how bad the world gets. I think we all want that for other people, if it's just for a short time. Maggie will always love Glenn, and it hurts now, and it probably will always hurt but what would hurt her more is if she knew you were closing yourself off to the small chance that there may be something. And if nothing develops, what did you lose? Nothing. When we get back, talk to her. I bet she'll be happy for you," Joey told her.

"We're here," Jewel said as the van pulled to a stop, glancing out the window, making sure the car behind them was stopping too.

Rick got out of the drive seat followed by Jewel, and the rest. "It's called the Kingdom?" Rick questioned.

"And it's run by someone that calls himself King Ezekial?" Jewel asked.

"Yeah, I didn't name it," Jesus answered.

"You'll understand when you meet the King, it all fits," Archie added.

"How much farther?" Rick questioned.

"Well technically we're already here," Jesus responded. "I mean we're always here," he added with a smirk. "But here we are, at the Kingdom. Well it's outer edge."

Daryl looked over the door of the van. "Hey, what the hell are we waiting on?"

Jesus pointed. "Waiting for them," he said as two riders approached.

Jewel and Rick both walked closer as two riders approached, one holding out a sword.

"Who dares to trespass on the souverain land," the man started to say. "Oh shit, Jesus is that you?"

"You got to be shitting me," Mitch said as he looked at the riders.

"Mitch," Mar scolded.

"I agree with him," Jewel mumbled.

Jesus waved.

"Who are all these people Paul?" the other rider asked.

"Hi Richard nice to see you," Jesus greeted as he approached.

"Good to see you too," Richard responded. "Your friends who are they?"

"This is Rick Grimes, his wife Jewel Grimes and Quinn Bledsoe, they are the leaders of a like minded community. These are some of there people," Jesus introduced. "We would like to request an audience with King Ezekiel," he continued to say.

Richard got off his horse and walked toward them. "Get out of the car," he told the people in the car. "You said they are a like minded community? Like minded how?"

"We live, we trade, we fight the dead," Jesus responded. "Sometimes others."

"Sorry, I'm not one to beat around the bush, especially when I'm away from my babies. We have a problem, named Negan. I understand from Jesus that you have the same problem," Jewel said as she looked at him. "So, can we have this audience now?"

"They're good people, Richard," Archie insisted.

Richard looked at Jesus then the rest of them. "Alright, line up."

"Alright, this is a waste of time, let's go," Daryl said.

"Daryl," Jewel warned.

"Maybe you're right, the King is a busy man, and it's a dangerous world. We don't usually allow a pack of strangers to waltz through our door," Richard said.

"We want to make the world less dangerous and we are all here to show the King how serious we are about that," Michonne said.

"My brother just escaped from being held by Negan. You must understand that would cause anyone to lose there patience's easily with new things," Jewel stated.

"I don't need you making excuses for me," Daryl told her.

"Daryl, we need this, so behave," Jewel told him.

"The cars stay outside, you have to hand over your guns," Richard told them.

"We only have two," Rick said as he nodded toward Carl to turn his over too.

"Ok, follow me," Richard said.

"Stay close," Mar said to Mitch and Daryl. Both of them gave her a look.

Richard walked with Jesus. "Before we go in, you have a brain and a backbone, so I'm talking to you, not Gregory. Whatever you're trying to start here, another protection trade, it doesn't matter if we don't start with the real problem," he told the other man. "The Savior's."

"You know Richard, I've never seen you smile," Jesus said. "I think that's going to change today."

Jewel and Rick stopped with the group as they entered the gates and looked around.

"They have the numbers," Michonne stated.

"I haven't seen this kind of crops since the prison," Beth said. "This is amazing."

"Can they fight?" Rosita questioned.

"Oh they can fight," Jesus responded.

"Maybe," Daryl answered.

"Would you stop being so negative?" Mar asked him.

"I have a feeling that they can fight," Jewel said as she squeezed Rick's hand seeing people running.

Tara walked past them. "Morgan?"

Morgan walked off the porch. "Hey," he greeted hugging her, then moved to Sasha and Jewel.

"Carol?" Jewel asked.

"We'll catch up, I'll talk to you soon," Morgan said as he squeezed her hand.

"How do you know each other?" Richard asked.

"We go back to the start," Rick said.

"He's family," Jewel added.

"Well the King is ready to see you," Richard said.

Morgan waved everybody through. "Did you find Carol?" Rick questioned.

"Morgan, we have the right to know, she's been with us from the start," Jewel pleaded with him.

"Yes I did," Morgan answered.

"Where is she? Is she OK?" Daryl asked.

"She was here, then she left. You know she wasn't to happy with me following her. She wanted to get away from us, from everyone. When I found her, she was shot. It was just a graze, I got her back here, they got doctors. They're good," Morgan reassured the three of them.

"Was it them?" Daryl asked.

"It was," Morgan said. "She had crossed with some of them, and one of them followed her and tried to kill her. But I stopped him, I killed him," he told them. "I had too."

"And we're grateful for it," Jewel told him.

"Carol was here, she got help. Now she's gone," Morgan stated.

Rick nodded as he went to follow the rest.

"And you don't know where she is?" Jewel asked.

"No," Morgan answered.

"We'll talk about that later," Jewel said as she joined Rick.
