All Nightmare Long

Chapter 565

Author's Note: Summer is bugging me. She is different then Maggie, so she's not so subtle about taking over. Plus I have Jes to check on. And get Gabriel (and maybe Mika, haven't decided) taken by the trash people. Everyone has a gimmick. Please review.

Hilltop:

Summer stood in the office at Hilltop, reading a book with her back toward the door, hearing it open. "Hello Gregory, I was waiting for you."

"What are you doing in my office? Going through my things? This is an invasion of privacy, get out. I want you and Margaret out of the Hilltop," Gregory demanded.

Summer calmly sat down behind the desk. "See an interesting thing happened after you dismissed us. The people of Hilltop decided they wanted to fight, and they decided that they need a leader or leaders who will fight for them. Maggie and I are going to help them, and we are going to lead Hilltop. But, unfortunately, as much as I would like to kick you out on your suit covered but, I can't because we still need you to be the face of Hilltop, just for the Savior's sake."

"They don't have the choice of weather we fight or not, it's not up to them! And they can't just appoint you as a leader, that's not up to them," Gregory informed her. "Now move from my chair."

"You aren't understanding me Gregory, Maggie and I are running Hilltop. So, this is my chair, you can sit in the chair across from the desk," Summer told him.

"Why do you think I wouldn't just tell the Savior's what you are up too?" Gregory questioned.

Summer smirked. "And tell them that you've been in cahoots with us the whole entire time? That's the only way for you to explain why Maggie and I are here and why your people would think we had a chance to win," she answered. "If you don't believe me, you can go ask them. But, I think I'd learn a few names first," she said. "Now are you going to sit down so we can have a calm conversation?"

Gregory looked at her as he sat down. "You don't think I'll help you fool the Savior's do you?"

"Once again, you don't have a choice unless you want to out yourself to them," Summer stated. "Now, all you are going to need to do is what you usually do, suck up and act scared."

"I'm not scared, I'm being smart. I'm trying to keep these people safe," Gregory argued.

"No, you're trying to keep yourself safe and you could care less about these people. You don't even know their names or how many people you have," Summer told him as she stood up and went to the front of the desk. "See if it was up to me, I'd shoot you, send you out as a Walker to the Saviors because you are a coward. And this world has no place for cowards."

"When I tell them what your people did," Gregory started to say.

"That we made a deal with you to take out the Saviors? And that you sent us out there without the whole truth? Is that what you were going to tell them? See, we believe in transparency, Greg, so we made sure they knew what you did, what we did," Summer said as she patted his shoulder. "So, you got anymore comebacks or smart-ass comments or insults before we continue?" she asked. She waited for a minute before nodding. "Good, it's pretty simple. We're letting you stay in the house, for your niece's sake. You won't be meeting a Savior alone, you'll either have Jesus or Archie with you, I don't care what you have to say. Since you aren't in charge anymore, you'll have time to help around the Hilltop and get to know everyone. Now, you can leave. Zihayr is outside, he's ready to help you get started," she said as she looked at him.

Jes POV:

Jes had parked the car in a hidden spot and her and Garza walked the rest of the way. "So, you think Shaw will agree to fight?"

Garza shrugged. "Shaw's going to do what he wants to do, what he thinks is right."

"This is right," Jes informed him.

"I know that," Garza told her as he stopped. "It's me," he yelled out.

Harris stepped out. "You're back quicker then we thought. And still breathing, that's always a good thing," he told them. "Sanchez, you're back too."

"I'm like a bad penny, I keep showing up," Jes said as she walked past him.

Shaw looked up from his desk. "Garza, report."

"Negan and his men was back when we showed up," Garza reported.

"So soon? Why?" Vieta questioned.

"He was bringing back Rick's teenage son," Jes answered. "Carl sneaked out, went to kill Negan."

"Obviously he failed," Harris stated.

"He did, but what he did, it made this Rick Grimes want to fight," Garza stated.

"So you came to get your guns?" Vieta questioned.

"I can hide them closer to Alexandria. Can't have them in Alexandria yet because if Negan finds them, he'll take them. Plus, I'm here to see if you'll join us. I already know what you're going to say Shaw, that it's not your fight," Jes said.

"I sent Garza there to meet Negan if he showed up again. Did you?" Shaw questioned.

"No, I didn't, met some of his people," Garza responded.

"I didn't tell you to meet his people, I told you to meet Negan," Shaw barked at him.

"It was my decision," Jes interrupted. "The reason I sent him and the kid away, before when Negan came was because I didn't want them killed or captured. The same thing was true now. Negan killed two more people from Alexandria and took one hostage. That's what Negan does. Now that makes two of my friends that Negan has in his hold. You don't have a lot of people, and we don't have a lot of guns. But we have people, and we are trying to get more, and you have guns, grenades, lots of other things," Jes stated.

"I think it's a fight that we need to be in," Garza stated.

"You really think that we should get involved?" the older of the Reid brothers' asked.

"I do," Garza stated. "Look I've seen Negan's group, three times now. The first two times, it was huge. This time, just a small group, but still a group of bullies. They beat up a man who brought them supplies today, I watched from a far. I wanted to go intervene, but I knew what Jes said was true. If they find us, we don't stand a chance, not alone," Garza explained.
