Chapter 12 England
It's just a fun little chapter. I thought the girls needed a little family vacation
Emily and Tracey had taken their girls and Elizabeth and JJ to England to visit their family and have a family holiday. Nobody thought Millicent Crop would follow them to the UK, but Emily's mother was a security consultant. She had arranged for security for them throughout their holiday in the UK.
"Hello, my sweet girls." Val grabs her grandchildren as they exit the people carrier. Tracey's mother was delighted to see her grandchildren in the flesh for the first time. She didn't care Emily and Tracey still had a month before they officially adopted them. As far as she was concerned, they were already family, and she fell in love with Vanessa and Ellie the first time she had seen them on her computer screen.
"Gramps!" The girls scream, running to her and hugging her.
"Girls, we are having Roast Beef, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes for the main course. And for dessert, because I know your mom loves them, I have made lots of mini English puddings for you to try. Yes, Emily, I have made bread and butter pudding." Smiled Val as she turned and walked into the house, holding her grandchildren's hands
"God, I do love your mother, Tracey can we bring her back to the states? I could eat her puddings all the time." Emily smiled at her wife.
Tracey smirked and leaned in to whisper, "you'll get fat and not be able to run after perps, so Strauss will make you work for her." Emily physically shuddered
"We could have lots of sex so I can work the extra pounds off." She smirked back. Grabbing her hand to go into the house
After a glorious roast beef dinner, Val had brought out as promised her puddings for the four Americans to taste. The two girls eye grew wide as the deserts seemed never to stop. Their mothers explained about each dessert and laughed at their faces. After a glorious evening, Emily and Tracey lay in bed. Emily gently brushed her thumb over her wife's nipple, only to have Tracey grab it
"Are you crazy, woman? Our daughters are sleeping on the floor at the bottom of our bed. WE ARE NOT having sex tonight. We can cuddle but nothing else." Tracey warns her wife.
"Not fair woman, do you know how horny I am? I need a shower.. a freezing shower." Emily sticks her tongue out as she gets up to go for her shower. Tracey just smiled at the antics of her wife and snuggled into her pillow, thinking what a wonderful day it had been.

Emily sat on a park bench watching Vanessa and Ellie play in the kid's play area while Tracey had taken JJ and Elizabeth to her old police station in Warrington. Emily was lost watching the girls play. She didn't see the man sit down next to her on the park bench
"Hello, Emily." The man greeted her
"Hello, old friend, it's been a while you're looking good," Emily answered, her eyes never leaving her playing daughters
"Motherhood looks good on you, and your mother is looking forward to meeting them in the flesh. She doesn't even care. It's not official for another month. They have a ten-person close protection detail. They will not see any of us; you have my word nothing will happen to them while the six of you enjoy your holiday." He smiled. "Harry sent these for you. Four carbon fibre military throwing knives. They will pass through security checks later in London without any issues. The girls have £50 each from their special uncles." He smiled
"Thank you, Peter. It means a lot." Emily smiles
"You might have been forced out from the regiment Emily but your still family. Your family and friends are our priority's for the next ten days. Enjoy it." Peter stands leaving a magazine on the bench as he walks away
Emily feels content and safe; she knows first-hand what the group protecting them are capable of. God help anyone that tries anything. She picks up the magazine and pockets the money for the girls, and leaves the knives where they are.

JJ, Elizabeth and Tracey spot the two girls, and Emily ran around the grass playing tag. The three women smile at the three carefree family members running around like headless chickens. Tracey had enjoyed showing her friends around Warrington police station. Her old colleagues had donated two police helmets that the British police were famous for.
"GIRLS! come see." Tracey shouts at her girls
The two girls run over out of breath, followed by an equally out of breath Emily.
"Tag your it." Vanessa smiled, touching her mum's arm, smiling, "you lose, we win." She shouts, grabbing her sisters arm and raising it in victory.
"Looking tired their, partner starting to feel your age?" JJ laughed
Emily, still out of breath, just raised one finger-wagging it side to side and just glared at her partner. Everyone bursts out laughing at her.
"Come on, old girl, let's get you sat down. Do you think you can manage a milkshake?" Elizabeth smirked, patting her back. Both girls grab an arm each and help her to the cafe.
JJ laughed. "It looks like the two girls have made their first arrest." JJ points out The two girls having Emily by her arms with their new British police helmets on. Tracey gets out her camera and takes a picture for posterity.
After they have had shakes and more cake for Emily, the girls go and play on the grab a prize crane game. While the girl's attention is elsewhere, Emily tells everyone about her meeting earlier, and her old colleague and the close protection they are providing, and the carbon fibre knifes.
Everyone just smiles and turn to watch the girls playing the crane game. Laughing at the exasperated screams, they occasionally let out when their prize drops from the claws before reaching the prize basket.

"Wow, they like ants down there," Ellie tells everyone
"Well, they are 380ft below us, sweetie," Emily smiled as Ellie grabbed her arm "it won't break with me lying on it, will it?" She asked seriously
"You should be ok; you didn't eat that fourth sausage at breakfast, did you hollow legs?" Emily smirked until she got slapped around the back of her head.
"Behaviour yourself, you will be fine, Ellie; we could all lay down next to you, and it wouldn't budge an inch." Elizabeth comforted her nice
To prove a point, they all pile onto the glass floor section, and nothing happens apart from a groan from Emily at the bottom of the pile.
"See, sweetheart, if it did break, your mother would fall first to save us all." Elizabeth laughed as Emily stuck her tongue out and laid on her back at the bottom of the pile.
"Who's up for a donkey ride on the beach?" Tracey asked
"Me!, Me!." Two excited eight-year-olds scream
"Are you sure this is a beach and not a dessert because I can't see the sea?" Vanessa asked as she climbed up onto her donkey, spookily called 'Erin.'
"Yeah, the sea goes out a long way. We will come back later and go to the end of the pier so you can see we aren't pulling your legs." Smirked Emily, "I said a similar thing to my parents when I first came as a child." Emily pats Vanessa's leg
They have fun riding their donkeys up and down the beach. They decide they should have a stick of rock between them while they walk up to the pleasure beach. Suddenly on the pavement, Emily comes to a sudden stop. "NO way!" Pointing to a man with a python around his neck offering pictures wearing his snake.
"Girls, your mum needs her handheld past the really dangerous humongous snake." laughed Tracey
Emily glared at her wife and grabbed her daughters hands, and moved over to the edge of the pavement. Her eyes down just looking at the pavement, the man holding the python had seen tourists like Emily before and found it funny putting his snake around their necks to see them panic. He started towards Emily when suddenly a young couple walked up, and the woman asked for her photo. The man was intent on Emily panicking, so he declined.
Suddenly the young woman grabbed his testicles and twisted them violently, and pushed him back. "Leave the woman alone, or I feed this little beauty's to your snake. Do you understand me?" She quietly threatened. He just nodded in reply as he was pushed away from Emily
The couple pushes the snake handler away and walks back into the crowd. JJ and Tracey, police officers, noticed the telltale slight bulges around their waists, indicating concealed weapons. It was then they realised it wasn't just the girls being protected. It was all of them. No one had time to think about it as the girls' excitement was addictive.
"Come on, special woman, the snake is gone." Smirked Tracey "who wants to go on the dodgem cars? Aunt JJ is great at crashing." Hey, I only crashed once. JJ defended her driving record.
"Yeah, but that once sent a fire hydrant through a shop window into the display of glass ornaments, and we then you ended up in the river with the NYPD first amphibious car. Your lead foot is famous for its oh so delicate touch on the gas pedal. Dodgem cars are your limitation. You can crash as much as you want." Emily laughed
"Girls, who are coming in my car?" JJ asked, "I'll come with you, and aunt JJ let's crush mum and mama, Vanessa laughed."
"Gotcha!" laughed JJ as Vanessa successfully rammed Elizabeth and Ellie's car swiftly, followed by collisions from Emily and Tracey. The family group continued to crash into each other in their dodgem cars until the time ran out.
"See, girls, your aunt JJ is a walking accident; she should be limited to driving dodgem cars. It would make the roads a safer place." Emily laughed "even perps fear her driving." Emily hadn't seen the wet sponge in JJ's hands until she got hit in the face with the soaked sponge.
"A bit slow, their mommy Prentiss." Smiles JJ
The group had a fun afternoon and evening around the pleasure beach, and six exhausted people returned to Warrington to sleep. The two girls had brought an entire box of Blackpool rock to give to their friend when they got home, teeth be dammed. The next few days they visited Manchester and went to a football game in Liverpool watching Everton play. But the best day so far was spent going around Cadbury chocolate world. Elizabeth had to put to bed sick children and bigger children from all eating too much chocolate during their special chocolate factory tour.

They had now moved down to Cambridge to visit Edith, Emily's mother, in her tiny house as they had told the children. Emily turned into the driveway of her childhood home, "Mum! It's massive, and you said it was small. Are you Ritch?" Ellie asked from the back seat. She was looking out her window in amazement as they drove down the mile-long drive to the ivy-covered house.
Edith stood at the entrance waiting to greet her grandchildren. As they stopped outside the door, the girl's door was flung open, and Edith leaned in to give Vanessa and Ellie a great big hug and told them to follow her into the house.
"Hello, mother, we are all fine," Emily shouts after her disappearing mother
"Do you think we will see them again?" Tracey laughed
"I'm sure we can keep ourselves occupied." Smirked JJ "are the guards in the woods, Emily?" JJ asked, a little concerned
"Don't worry, Jen, and my mother isn't exactly a security consultant. She is a Queen spook." Emily tells JJ and Elizabeth with slight embarrassment. "It's something for obvious reasons we don't advertise. Can you both not tell the girls? I don't think they are ready to know yet." Emily asks her two friends
"Of course not." JJ and Elizabeth reply.
The two girls go to bed early after exploring the grounds and learning to play Croquette. The croquette lesson turned into a game without rules involving lots of running and hitting the balls anywhere but through the hoops. Emily sat on the garden swing next to her mother.
" I've found her, Millicent's hidden in a farmhouse. She ran a computer search on you all, including me. Should I have her taken care of?" Edith asked without emotion
"NO! Delivered to an NYPD precinct, please UNHARMED! I'm a police officer now, no matter what she's done. She can rot in prison, no unexplained death." Emily told her mother firmly, " Thank you for finding her and protecting the girls
"No thanks needed, Emily. Those two girls are important to me. I don't need to wait a further month for a piece of paper to make it official. Vanessa and Ellie are my grandchildren now." She smiled, hugging Emily.
Emily walked up to Tracey and Elizabeth while JJ played tag with the girls. "Mother has found Millicent in a farmhouse, and she is arranging for her to be arrested by the NYPD. So it's finally all over we can get back to normal when we get back home" Emily sighed
The four adults slept well that night. All threats to their family had been neutralised they could concentrate on being police officers again.
The following day found them in London on their penultimate day visiting a somewhat shady friend of Emily's in the docklands area.
"Hi, Stephanie. It's been a while." Emily hugged her old friend
Emily explained how they met over a safe cracking job and how Steph was into property management. They met at a pub called the dirty rascal on the river bank. The remainder of the group remained a little reticent on entering the pub's clientele.
"Don't worry, ladies, you are safe. They might look scruffy and set your police radar off, but they wouldn't hurt a fly. They are old fashioned criminals, not modern-day idiots. Look, Shamus even taught Emily the art of safe blowing one winter." She smiled, hugging Emily around the shoulders
JJ, Elizabeth and Tracey could not have been more wrong about the pub's occupants. They were friendly and very welcoming to Ellie and Vanessa. By the time they all left, the two girls had more money in their wallets than they started the trip with. Stephanie had sworn it was all legally obtained. The three adults had been enlightened about some of Emily's exploits in the underworld of London. Two well-spoiled children slept well on their last night in London, happy with their visit across the pond.
