Chapter 568

Author's Note: Things are getting back to "normal" in the world. I am still working from home. I hope everyone is staying safe. I think we should go check on Negan. Ok, so he thinks I should go check on him. I don't know if the whole chapter will be him. But we will see. Please review it means a lot.

The Sanctuary:

Sylvie walked down the steps of the Sanctuary and glanced at Negan then turned and looked at him. "Were you attacked by a razor?"

Negan laughed as he ran his hand over his face. "Looks good doesn't it?"

"Looks different, that's for sure. Heard you on the radio, Daryl escaped?" Sylvie asked.

"Yep, but we'll get him back," Negan said as he looked at her. "Sherry is gone too. You wouldn't know anything about that?"

Sylvie looked at him. "Why would I know anything about it?'

"You were involved with her last disappearing act," Negan reminded her.

"So was Dwight," Sylvie pushed back. "Did you talk to him?"

"Not yet, he's down in Daryl's cell. I'm on my way there in a few," Negan said.

"It's to bad about Fat Joey, he was a pretty good guy," Sylvie stated.

"Yeah, he was pretty cool," Negan stated. "So where were you when all this was going on?"

"With me boss," Sampson stated as he stepped out. "We were holed up in our room, didn't come out for two, three hours. We were making plenty of noise, sure you could check with our neighbors, if they were around," he said as he threw his arm around Sylvie.

Negan let out a laugh, slapping his hand on Sampson's shoulder. "Didn't know you had it in you."

"Well we don't get a lot of down time, Boss. Got to take advantage of it when we can," Sampson answered.

"Ok, that's enough innuendo about my sex life," Sylvie insisted. "So, the kid's back in Alexandria?"

"Yep, just like I promised no harm came to him, can't say the same about a couple of other people. Plus, we have a new bullet maker, Eugene. We won't have any problem out of him. He's a scared little man," Negan said.

"So, you took someone else from Alexandria?" Sylvie questioned.

"After some asshole shot at me, got Lucille. Would you look at my girl?" Negan asked holding her up. "It was a homemade bullet. Arat killed Olivia before Eugene gave himself up. Simon's took a group to Alexandria to get Daryl back," Negan stated.

"Do you really think he went back to Alexandria?" Sampson asked. "He must know that's the first place we'll look," Sampson stated.

"He'll go back, run right to his kid, his sister," Negan assured them. "Go take the rest of the day," he said as he patted Sampson's shoulder and left. Sylvie gave Sampson a roll of her eyes before walking away.

Joey and Mitch POV:

Mitch glanced back, thinking he heard a noise.

Joey stopped and turned and looked at him. "Mitch?"

"We're being followed," Mitch whispered.

Joey motioned for him to come up beside him. "Stay close."

"If they wanted to shoot, they would have. It's not like we have guns," Mitch told him.

"He's right, if I wanted you dead, you would have been," Cece said as she came around from the tree with a gun. "Kid got skills, I'm quite."

"Cece, right? What are you doing out here? Alone," Joey questioned.

"They've been talking with your friend for a while, it's was getting heated, and my opinion doesn't really matter," Cece answered.

"Jes does get heated when it comes to doing the right thing," Mitch said as he watched the teen.

"Who was talking about Jes? I was talking about Shaw. When he makes up his mind, there's no changing it. I'm CeCe, I know you," she said as she nodded toward Joey. "You I don't know," she said as she looked at Mitch.

"Mitch," he responded. "We came to get Jes," he told her.

"Your sisters know where you are?" Joey questioned.

"They know I don't go beyond the barrier," Cece said as she walked with them. "Jes didn't say she was expecting anyone."

"She wasn't," Mitch answered.

"Does anyone agree to help us?" Joey questioned.

"Doesn't matter if they do or don't, if Shaw says no, then that's what we're going to do," Cece said. "Kind of like what happened with your leader, right? He didn't want to fight, then he did."

"We all knew Rick would fight; it just took him time to work things out. We lost good friends that night," Joey said.

Cece held up her hand for them to stop and whistled and waited until Holden came out. "Got company," she said. "They still arguing?"

Holden laughed. "More of a stare down between Jes and Shaw. Come on, I'm sure Shaw will be glad that there's even more people around," he said as he walked in.

Joey walked in with Mitch. "Jes," Joey greeted.

"Joey, Mitch what are the two of you doing here?" Jes questioned.

"I'd like to know that too," Shaw barked as he looked at them. "Yet another person that knows where we are."

"Yeah, he looks like a threat," Cece said as she put her gun away.

"Dad escaped from Negan, he's safe, he's with mom," Mitch stated.

"Good, did Hilltop agree to help?" Jes questioned.

"Gregory didn't, but Enid and Lexi talked to some of the people, they've agreed to learn to fight. There's another community that Jesus introduced us too, Daryl and Mar is going to work on them," Joey responded. "They have people, some weapons, not a lot of guns. But they know how to fight."

"We could still use you," Mitch said looking at Shaw.

"Yeah, Shaw isn't one to listen to 'just a kid', trust me," Cece told him.

"Cecelia," Claire warned.

"Hell, maybe he'll have better luck than I have had," Jes said.

"I don't need to hear anymore, we're not getting involved," Shaw answered.

"To bad," Mitch said as he blocked Shaw. "Why won't you fight? Why won't you help us? Negan has an army, and none of you would stand a chance when he comes. And he will come, unless we all team up against him."

"This isn't some game kid," Shaw said.

"I'm not a kid," Mitch told him. "I lost that chance when both of my brothers were killed by Walkers', when a man who called himself the Governor attacked our home, not once but twice. I lost that chance when we were almost ate by cannibals, and I sure lost the chance of being a kid when we went from Atlanta to Alexandria and almost starved. And I certainly stopped being a kid when a man with a baseball bat beat one of my best friends to death. I'm just thankful I wasn't there to see it. But he took the man who raised me, a man who didn't have to, was taken by Negan. And beat by him and his saviors'. That's what he calls his gang of bullies. Men and women who will take anything and anyone they want. He got away, and the first thing he wants to do is fight. And, I'm going to be standing with him and all my family. And what are you going to do? Just sit here and hide? And hope that Negan and his men don't find you? They will, and you won't stand a chance. So I might be a kid, but you're a coward."
