Chloe did not know color or light. She had been blind her entire life. The woman was strange. she never blinked and her face barely showed emotion. as far as anyone knew, she had never smiled, cried, laughed, or even screamed. She couldn't speak either, or rather she never spoke. All pediatricians said there was an anomaly in her vocal chord, and for the first seven years she would be unable to speak. After about thirteen years, Chloe had still not spoken a word.
She ignored the jeers of her peers and stayed clear of the bullies. She always had a sense of where she was, and who was around, even though she couldn't see. She had been kicked out of so many schoos that she had lost count. Chloe's parents mysteriously vanished one day, and all their, and Chloe's records were earased. According to the world, Chloe Flameheart Garner didn't exist.
Chloe had gotten in fights with the bullies when they were picking on the younger kids. Her brother figure, King - as he liked to be called, helped her escape from many different states. She had done this since forever. Both her and King had been around, knew all the ins and outs of places. They had friends and enemies. They never stayed in one place for too long, until King went and got himself killed.
He was beaten to death by a group of thugs. Chloe was left alone and didn't care. She had learned everything from King, how to fight, how to steal, how to commit so many crimes that it was barely illegal to her anymore, hell he even taught her how to kill. She was taught how to survive on the run, and on the streets. She was seventeen when King died, and she had survived six years on her own.
King had taught her how to act tough, how to laugh in the face of danger and death. He taught her how to live. She was smart, but she still never spoke. She was silent and learned whenever she enrolled in a school. She had been to jail about fifty times, but had somehow escaped every time. Chloe had contacts. Many of her jail times were because she was still learning under King. King had busted her out, and she had busted him out, it was a pact between them. She had gotten her ass handed to her in the fighting rings, but King had helped her get better and she ended up being the one kicking ass. Her ring-name was Crystal Pyre, although most called her Heartless. She healed quite fast, something she had aquired from living on the streets forever.
Chloe was a badass, kickass, warrior woman who was not hindered by her 'disability' as everyone called it. Chloe honestly thought being able to see would be more of a disability, since one would be distracted by all the colors and sights. She had been taught emotions, but only annoyance, sarcasm, dry-humor, defiance, amusement, bullheadednessm and a slight amount of compassion for the children on the streets. She wasn't a bad person, just one struggling to survive without a home, without love, and without a family.
She might get that soon though...
