A/N thanks for your reviews and support.

Shou-loatheUndying: thanks for your review my friend. Actually the original script had Oliver as Malcolm's son not Thea as his daughter. They changed it at the last minute. Broken collarbone sucks right now but doing better. Hope you enjoy the chapter.

Oliver's POV

Ra's asked in a low alpha rumble, "What did you remember?"

The rumble sent a shiver down his spine. Omega instincts told him to give the alpha whatever he wanted to calm him. Surivial instincts told him to beware what he said. Or he may not get another chance to speak.

Then again the name Jason Bourne was on the next page. It was obvious that these men already knew about it. If he had to guess they were waiting to see if he would tell the truth. Or to see if it would trigger any memories.

Taking a deep breath he recounted the memory. When he was done he waited for Ra's judgment. As it stood then the alpha could kill him. There would be little he could do to stop him.

Ra's held out his right hand for the folder. A little reluctantly Oliver handed over. His fate and past was in that folder.

If he was going to die it would not be on his back. He would die with at least some dignity. Pushing Hudu off of him he rolled over and rose so that he was kneeling. There was a flash in the alpha's eyes.

Oliver didn't recognize the look. It scared him not to recognize the look. However he would not show his fear. He placed his faith and life in this man's hands. That faith had not wavered an inch.

There was a scrape of metal on leather. Oliver did not stiffen instead waited for Ra's judgement.

A distressed scent filled the air. He knew it came from Hudu who had moved to the side. The older omega did not like this decision but he swore himself to the Demon's Head. He could not go against the alpha.

Cool steel touched the side of his throat. Something inside Oliver calmed. The fear that had been there was gone. All that was left was to face this.

Ra's rumbled, "Despite your injuries you kneel before me. You do not know why I don't like this file. Your mind is heavily damaged by the wounds you sustained before coming here. Reluctantly you entered my service to heal and find a place within the ranks of the League."

Oliver swallowed minutely. Everything that was said was true. He did not want to join the League not in the beginning. Now all he wanted was to stay. This group pushed him to be better.

Each member shared this bond when they joined. Without Ra's they had no purpose. For their loyalty they were given a purpose. Every single member would die for the Demon's Head if that was his wish. It was only in this moment did Oliver realize that he would too. His only regret being that he still did not understand what he had done to get to this point.

The steel shifted away from his neck and there was a shuffling of the alpha's robes. Ra's ordered gruffly, "Look at me."

Oliver did so without hesitation. He met the normally cold grey eyes. There was an odd warmth in them that made Oliver's heart skip.

Ra's said warmth entering his voice, "You were fully prepared to let me kill you without knowing why. We knew what the file said before we let you see it. By telling us what you saw gives us answers that were missing before. Hudu help him lay back down. You do not die by my hand, Al Sahim. You saved my and were ready to die because of who you were. Without the extra information I would not allow you to leave Nanda Parbat unescorted."

Oliver flinched. Escorts were only for assassins that were under suspicion. Or if they were newly named in case they decided they couldn't kill.

Hudu gently helped him back to the bed. His side twimged slightly but it wasn't anymore than he could handle.

The alpha continued, "Jason Bourne is a killer for hire. He has taken almost as many lives as the Jackal. He appeared about three years ago in China. At first he started with small kills that even the League didn't pay attention to. By the time a year passed Bourne had moved into Europe. Each kill brought him more onto our radar and the radar of the Jackal. Agencies from all over the world were hunting him. I sent Al Owal to kill him months ago. Having read this file everything is beginning to make more sense."

Ra's paused for a moment allowing his words to sink in. Oliver was listening at rapt attention as the man continued, "Jason Bourne could not be caught because he was never the one killing. Only to take credit for the kills. It was a brilliant way to bring out the Jackal. It also explains how you ended up in the water. France is the Jackal's hunting grounds. You were trying to end his reign in turn nearly died yourself."

That was how he ended up with the League. The shots put him into the water where it would be thought he drowned. Instead he was saved by a passing League ship. By chance would have a healer and the Warith on board.

The new information changed very little. Oliver knew now that Ra's would not kill him. Like many things in Nanda Parbat this had been a test. His loyalty was proven to be far deeper than most.

Not only had he risked death but he was willing to die because it was Ra's order. Oliver would rather not die but if it had to be by anyone's hands it was better to be the Demon's Head.

With a softer look Ra's stated, "You are one of our men. That will not change because of this new information. Now rest. When you are healed we will be doing a training exercise away from Nanda Parbat."

"Yes my liege."

With that Ra's was gone. Hudu for his part berated him for risking his life with the Demon's Head. Oliver only listened with half an ear. Things were changing now and he was interested to see how they would affect him.
