Station Officer Steele was waiting for Sam, Ellie, and Penny to return from Newtown when PC Williams walked in with Sergeant Ravani. He was carrying Evidence, a notepad, and Notices for all of Pontypandy.
Steele: "Hello, Malcolm. I spoke with Norman and Derek, but Derek told me that the person you're looking for wears a black jacket and blue pants."
Malcolm: "Really, Norris."
Steele: "Yes. In fact, I did call Tom Thomas to help you with the hunt."
Elvis: "Ok, I'll help you with the investigation, but we need to see what everyone knows so far."
Back in Newtown, Sam, Ellie, and Penny were up at 8:00 in the morning with Sarah and James still asleep after they were rescued from the ravine on Pontypandy Mountain. A few minutes later, Charlie and Bronwyn walked in quietly not to disturb them.
Penny: "Hello, Charlie."
Charlie: "Hello, Penny."
Penny: "Did you receive a notice from the Police about the person they're looking for?"
Bronwyn: "We did, Penny. Sam told us that there was someone causing trouble."
Penny: "Oh, all we know is that Norman Price did not cause trouble."
Ellie: "That's true, Penny. Is that right, Sam?"
Sam: "Yes, Ellie. It is true."
Penny and Bronwyn were talking about what happened last night when Sarah started to wake up from a long night's rest.
Sam: "Well, someone's starting to wake up."
Penny: "I think we better see how she's doing."
Bronwyn: "Good Idea, Penny."
Sam, Ellie, Penny, Charlie, and Bronwyn went to see how Sarah was doing when Jordan walked by to meet Charlie and Bronwyn.
Jordan: "Hello, Sam."
Sam: "Hi, Jordan. I would like you to meet Charlie and Bronwyn Jones, Sarah, and James' mum and dad"
Jordan: "Nice to meet you both."
Bronwyn: "Nice to meet you too."
Charlie: "Pleasure to meet you."
Sam: "Why don't we go and see how Sarah is doing?"
Charlie: "Great Idea, Sam."
Bronwyn: "I heard that Sarah was brought here from the ravine after she fell, am I correct?"
Sam: "That's true, Bronwyn."
It has been a day since Sarah and James were admitted to the hospital after their fall down a ravine on the mountain. Back at the station, Station Officer Steele, Elvis, and Arnold were organizing the notices from Fire Service HQ for all of Pontypandy to read about when Trevor pulled in.
Trevor: "Good Morning, Station Officer Steele."
Steele: "Good Morning, Trevor."
Trevor: "Putting up some notices, sir?"
Steele: "Yes, Chief Fire Officer Boyce is a bit fed up with whoever puts the people of Pontypandy in danger. So, Firefighter McKinley, Cridlington, and I are putting up Notices on each street."
Trevor: "Oh, need a lift?"
Steele: "Well, I suppose that we could have some help from you, Trevor."
Trevor: "Great, let's go."
Soon, Station Officer Steele, Elvis, and Arnold went along the streets of Pontypandy with Trevor. Back at Newtown Hospital, Sam and the others were waiting for the results for James' injury when Jordan came back with an envelope.
Jordan: "Ok, I have the results, and it's just badly bruised."
Charlie: "Ok, How will we make sure that James gets home safely?"
Jordan: "I would find someone to make sure he keeps up with you. "
Bronwyn: "Ok, what about Sarah?"
Jordan: "Well, the good news is that there are no other problems with her head injury. I would suggest that you keep the bandage on until I can come by or you can ask one of the 3 firefighters to help."
Sam: "Jordan, I almost forgot to tell you."
Jordan: "What is it, Sam?"
Sam: "We have a Nurse who lives in Pontypandy."
Jordan: "Ok, and what's her name?"
Sam: "Helen Flood."
Jordan: "Ok, I'll call her later. Other than that, they can go home today. I'll send someone to take the IV off of them."
Jordan soon walked out after handing Charlie and Bronwyn the results for both Sarah and James' injuries. Sam was thinking about who can bring them home to Pontypandy.
Sam: "I'll call Tom to bring the Helicopter here, we don't have Jupiter or Venus."
Charlie: "Trevor is out with Station Officer Steele putting up Notices from HQ about the recent events."
Sam: "Ok, You came here on Trevor's Bus, right?"
Charlie: "Yes, Sam. We did."
Sam: "Ok, I'll just call Tom."
Penny: "Ok, Sam."
Ellie: "Will Jordan send anyone to help remove the IV line from Sarah and James?"
Sam: "Yes, Ellie. In the meantime, I'll let Chief Fire Officer Boyce know we're coming back."
Back in Pontypandy, Chief Fire Officer Boyce was at the Station when the PC Williams arrived with Sergeant Ravani. Up in the air, Tom was searching for the Person responsible for the fires when he heard Sam on the radio.
Sam (over radio): "Fireman Sam to Wallaby 2, come in, Tom."
Tom (over radio): "Go ahead, Sam."
Sam (over radio): "Can you bring the Helicopter to Newtown Hospital? We're bringing home Sarah and James."
Tom (over radio): "Roger that, Sam. On my way."
Tom was soon heading for Newtown in Wallaby 2 when he saw a drone in front of him. He dodged it and decided to call the police and file a report. Back in Newtown, Sam and the others were waiting for Tom to arrive in the Helicopter when Nurse Amy walked in.
Nurse Amy: "Hello there. I just came to remove the IV line from Sarah and James."
Charlie: "Oh, ok."
Jordan came back in as soon as Amy finished replacing the IV Line with a small bandage for the twins. She was wondering if there were any other pieces of evidence at the sight of the fire.
Jordan: "I was wondering if you found anything at the ravine yesterday."
Sam: "Yes, I spoke to Station Officer Steele and he found a hat that said D. Price"
Jordan: "Ok, I would like to ask if I can meet you at the Fire Station later."
Penny: "Sure, I can call Station Officer Steele to let him know that you're coming to Pontypandy."
Penny made the phone call to Station Officer Steele. Meanwhile, in the air, Tom was landing on the Helipad to pick up Sam and the others. He soon landed on the Helipad and open the door to the passenger cab, then they all came out to board Wallaby 2 for Pontypandy.
Tom: "All aboard, for the Pontypandy Ocean Rescue Center."
Sam: "Thanks, Tom. I'll sit in front with you."
Tom: "Good Idea, Sam."
Sam made sure everyone was in their seats before he climbed into where tom was and sat to the right of him. Wallaby 2 soon took off from the Helipad of the Hospital. Tom later started to tell Sam about the Drone he saw earlier before he arrived.
Tom: "Sam, I was heading to pick you up, but then out of nowhere, I spotted a drone in front of me, and I had to dodge it before I called the Police.
Sam: "Really, Tom?"
Tom: "Yeah, in the Outback, we do not fly drones near a Helicopter at all."
Tom was just telling Sam about the drone when the radio was calling from the Station. Sam proceeded to answer it from the Pilot's helmet he was wearing.
Chief Fire Officer Boyce (over radio): "Pontypandy Fire Station to Wallaby 2, come in."
Sam (over radio): "Go ahead, sir."
Boyce (over radio): "Ah, Sam. Just the person I need for this job. PC Williams needs you to meet him with Wallaby 2 at the Mountain Rescue Center."
Sam (over radio): "Ok, what is it?"
Boyce (over radio): "We have found a backpack at the center. We're worried it could be Tom's."
Sam (over radio): "Roger that, sir. We're on it."
Sam and the rest of the crew arrived with Wallaby 2, Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury. Chief Fire Officer Boyce was on his way to the Mountain Rescue Center in Phoenix. PC Williams and Sergeant Ravani were arriving with the backpack they found.
Malcolm: "Sam, we have been very close to catching the person we're looking for. He left his backpack here."
Sam: "Ok, I think we need to inform the people of Pontypandy that we are still looking for him."
Malcolm: "Agreed."
All of Pontypandy was later meeting at the Fire Station for an update into the Mystery as to how the fire started. All emergency vehicles were parked with their lights on when Malcolm stepped to the microphone.
Malcolm: "Can I have everyone's attention? Good people of Pontypandy, As you know we are all still searching for the person responsible for the fires in the Forest, and in the mountains. We have found evidence that leads us to find him. However, he is leading us on a wild goose chase. If anyone sees him, I will kindly ask you to call the Police, or Fireman Sam immediately. Thank you."
One hour later, Sam was putting away the equipment in Phoenix when Ben called him on his radio.
Ben (over radio): "Sam, it's Ben."
Sam (over radio): "Go ahead, Ben."
Ben (over radio): "I found someone on Juno heading for Pontypandy Island."
Sam (over radio): "Ok, Ben. I'm on my way. I'll call Rose and ask her to bring Malcolm to the Quay."
Ben (over radio): "Ok, Sam. I'll get Neptune and Titan ready."
Sam went to the Control Room to sound the Fire Station alarm, and then he relayed Ben's message to the crew.
Sam: "Ben has spotted someone on Juno heading for Pontypandy Island."
Penny and Elvis slid down the pole to climb aboard Venus, and Sam hopped on Mercury to head for the Ocean Rescue Center. Sam decided to call Tom for Air Support.
Sam (over radio): "Tom, we found someone heading for Pontypandy Island. We need Wallaby 2."
Tom (over radio): "Got it, and on my way."
Soon, Sam, Penny, and Elvis arrived with the Police, and Sam noticed Jupiter was parked outside the Café. He realized that Ellie was there to check on Sarah and James with Jordan who also arrived in the car behind Jupiter.
Sam: "Ok team, let's get to work. Ben, You pilot Titan. Elvis, You're with Ben and Malcolm. Penny, you and Rose will be with me on Neptune."
Sam and the rest of the team put on the Ocean Rescue Uniforms and PC Williams and Sergeant Ravani joined their designated teams. Neptune was first to launch into the sea followed by Titan. The chase was on.
Sam: "Ok, we need to act fast and set a blockade. Right, I need Ben, Elvis, and Malcolm to move Titan up on the right of Juno, while Penny, Rose, and I will be moving Neptune up on the left."
Ben (over radio): "Roger that, Sam."
Tom was overhead in the air with Wallaby 2 and Station Officer Steele. The chase continued until they reached the Northern Buoy and moved in to form the blockade. Soon, Juno came to a halt and Sam saw the black Jacket, and blue pants. Sam asked him to turn Juno off and climb aboard Neptune. The mysterious person hopped aboard Neptune and he put on the Life jacket provided. They soon made it back to Pontypandy and Sam returned Juno to the Ocean Rescue Center. Everyone in Pontypandy saw Tom land Wallaby 2 on the Helipad at the Ocean Rescue Center and they were surprised to see the mysterious person on Neptune. They went up to the door of the Ocean Rescue Center and the crew was standing outside the door and the people were waiting to hear Sam tell them they will now find out who it really is.
Sam: "Now let's see who this person really is."
Malcolm: "Here we go."
Sam removed the hood of the Jacket and a face popped out. Everyone was surprised at who it was.
Everyone (at the same time): "Dylan Price?!"
Norman started to come a little closer. He knew who it was.
Norman: "Uncle Dylan. Why would you put Pontypandy in danger?"
Dylan: "I'm sorry, Norman. I thought it would be so cool that I would find a perfect spot to light my fire while I was camping out."
Sam: "Is this your backpack we found at the Mountain Rescue Center?"
Dylan: "Yes, sir."
Lizzie: "He was the one who released the pack of wolves around Pontypandy."
Moose: "He's also the one who loosened the rocks on Pontypandy Mountain. No wonder James lost his balance when climbing down."
Arnold: "He's also the one that flew the drone in front of Tom on his way to Newtown this morning."
Mrs. Chen: "The same drone that Buck Douglas was using during his alien sighting set-up."
Mike: "HE'S JUST WORSE THAN BUCK DOUGLAS!"
Elvis gasped in surprise.
Penny: "He must've been doing that all over the country."
Bronwyn: "And he put the twins in a lot of danger."
Steele: "That is true, which is why we put up all those notices all over Pontypandy."
Jordan: "And he was the one who caused us to set up new security measures at the Hospital."
Jordan: "He was also the one who asked Derek to go out to Norman's and pass on the winter bug to Sarah without us noticing."
Sam: "Well done, Norman and Derek. You both found the truth."
Derek: "Well, we knew it was out there somewhere, Fireman Sam."
Sam: "Is there anything you would like to say to the people of Pontypandy, Mr. Price?"
Dylan was surprised, he didn't know he would be scolded by Fireman Sam for the trouble he caused. He looked at the police who were not pleased with him, then at the Pontypandy citizens who were not happy, also.
Dylan: "To the people of Pontypandy, I would like to say I'm sorry for the trouble I caused. Sarah, I'm sorry for not keeping Derek home when he had the winter bug last season. To the Mountain Rescue team, I'm sorry for loosening the rocks on the Mountain, and to the Fire service, I'm sorry for the fires I caused in the mountain and the forest. I did not realize I would cause a Forest Mountain Fire."
Malcolm: "Well, I think I can finally say this. On behalf of the Pontypandy Police Force, I, Police Constable Malcolm Williams am hereby placing you under arrest for committing crimes across Pontypandy."
Sergeant Ravani and PC Williams later drove to the Newtown Police HQ Jail with Dylan Price in the back seat. Everyone in Pontypandy gave the Pontypandy Police Force, and Fire Service crew a big round of applause. After they arrived at the Fire Station, Station Officer Steele decided to celebrate a big achievement for Fireman Sam with a nice cup of tea. The Next day, PC Williams and Sergeant Ravani arrived at the Fire Station with Chief Fire Officer Boyce and they had an award for him.
Steele: "It's been a day since the sighting of Dylan Price. On this day, A firefighter decided to fight a big fire near a ravine and rescue fellow members of his family as well as a group of Pontypandy citizens on Pontypandy Mountain, but one firefighter stood up to step in and do not one, but two acts of heroic action. Firstly, rescuing the people of Pontypandy away from a fire near the ravine, and leading the chase to send the person responsible for the Forest Mountain Fire away to Newtown Police, all above and beyond the Call of Duty."
Boyce: "here, here."
Steele: "So, would our hero please step forward?"
Sam steps forward to where he stood when he received his first award.
Boyce: "It gives me great pleasure in presenting to you the medal of the Hero of Wales."
Chief Fire officer Boyce places the Medal on Sam's Uniform next to the Medal of Outstanding bravery from 2009.
Boyce: "Sam, you are a Credit to the service."
Sam: "Thank you, sir. Just doing my job."
Everyone gave an applause to the Hero Next Door, and the Press managed to get a good photo of Sam and Boyce shaking hands together side by side. The photo was then hanging on the wall at the Pontypandy Fire Station.
Author's Note: Hello, Everyone. I am finally finished with my first Fireman Sam Story. Jordan did arrive in Pontypandy for the big surprise of who the mystery person was. This is a big achievement for me. I would like to thank you for your kind reviews, and I hope to write more Fireman Sam stories. Once again, I do not own all characters in the story, all Characters from Fireman Sam and The Night shift are owned by Mattel/Wildbrain and NBC.
