All Nightmare Long
Chapter 586
Author's Note: Work has been keeping me insanely busy and I'm learning how to do excel spreadsheets, and by the end of the day my brain is dead. Here's the next chapter. I'm going to skip the whole thing with Eugene and the wives, since nothing will change. I was going to add Archie's sister but I'll add her later. Now back to team family. I'm skipping around episodes, so everything will be one place. I'll add them having a family meeting about going to get the guns from Oceanside. Please review.
Alexandria:
Jewel and Rick walked up to the house, after dropping the guns off with Jadis and her people. Jewel had convinced Rick to keep some back for them.
"Hey," Rick greeted.
"Hey," Tara greeted back.
"You alright?" Rick questioned.
"Yeah, I was just coming to see you. What's up?"
"We're looking for Rosita," Jewel stated.
"Have you seen her? She didn't show up for her guard shift this morning," Rick explained.
Tara sighed. "She probably just went out looking for more," she answered.
Rick sighed as he turned around then back.
"She can't be going out on her own, she knows that," Jewel said. "I should have talked to her before we left."
"This isn't on you," Rick told her as he turned back to Tara. "Why were you coming by?"
Tara looked at Jewel and Rick. "I have something to tell you, well Quinn and I do."
Jewel looked at Tara. "It's important?"
"Very," Tara answered.
"Let's go inside," Rick said.
"I'll go get Quinn," Jewel answered as she kissed him. "Won't be long," she said as she went to Quinn's house and knocked.
Quinn answered the door. "Jewel, I wasn't expecting to see you again so soon. Do you need us to watch the girls again?"
"No, Tara said you and she have something to tell us, I was coming to get you," Jewel told her.
Quinn nodded and closed the door and followed her out.
"You want to give me a hint about what this is about?" Jewel questioned the other woman.
"No, it's something Tara and I both should tell you together," Quinn answered.
Jewel nodded. "Rosita's missing," she said as she walked up to the house, seeing Jes, motioning her over.
"Where is she?" Quinn asked.
"If I knew that, then she wouldn't be missing," Jewel answered as Jes walked up.
"What's up?" Jes questioned.
"Quinn and Tara have something to tell us, you might as well be there too," Jewel explained as they went into the house.
Quinn and Tara looked at each other. "We doing this?" Quinn questioned the other woman.
"Yeah, it's the right thing," Tara answered as Jewel picked up Judith from the floor.
"What's this all about?" Jes asked as she leaned against the door frame.
Tara took a breath. "When Quinn and I were out, we stumbled upon a group."
"Literally," Quinn interjected.
"They have guns, a lot of them. I thought, we thought," Tara explained.
"What?" Rick and Jewel both questioned.
"That group, the women we met, they have an armory, they have guns," Tara explained.
"Why didn't you tell us before now?" Rick questioned.
"We couldn't," Quinn responded.
"Couldn't or wouldn't?" Jes asked.
"We made a promise," Tara explained.
"They've had a run in with Negan and the Saviors," Quinn explained. "They killed all the men and boys above the age of 10. It's a group of women and children. The leader was ready to kill us, almost did, so we couldn't get them involved. Her granddaughter helped us escape, putting her life in danger. We made a promise. We didn't know what happened back here, with Denise, with Glenn and Abraham," she explained. "With the guns."
"And when you did find out? When you came back here and found out? You still didn't tell us," Jes said. "You don't owe them anything."
"We owe Cyndie our lives," Tara argued.
Jewel sighed. "Everyone calm down, why are you telling us now?"
Tara and Quinn exchanged glances. "Because it's the right thing to do. Cyndie saved us, but Glenn and Mitch also saved me at the prison. I owe Glenn my life too," Tara responded.
"Keeping this from you all, it wasn't easy. But Tara and I had to be on the same page," Quinn responded.
"So, will they work with us? Fight with us?" Rick asked.
Jewel kissed Judith's head as she rubbed her back. "If they would, I don't think Tara and Quinn would have kept this from us. Am I right?"
"We asked, we got turned down," Tara answered.
"So, there's only one way to do this," Jes said.
Quinn sighed. "Isn't there another way? I mean its women and children. We're just going to leave them defenseless. Just like Negan did with us?"
Jewel sighed. "If Negan killed men and children once, he'd do it again. If this means that Rick, Carl, Joey, Gus, and everyone else lives, then we have to do it. We're going to have to need all hands-on deck, Summer, Joey, Jesus, Daryl and Mar."
"Shaw went back to Arlington, to get his people ready, I could get Garza to come with us, he'd be willing," Jes stated.
"We could try to talk to them again," Tara said.
"I doubt it would do any good, and I don't think Cyndie would be on our side now," Quinn said.
Rick looked at Tara. "Are you ready if this goes South?" he asked.
"It won't," Tara said.
"If it does, you don't need to feel bad, either one of you," Rick said.
"I do feel bad," Tara answered.
"So do I, but I don't want any more of our people to die," Quinn said.
"Tara, Quinn, you don't have too," Rick said.
Jewel took a breath as she kissed the top of Judith's head before laying the sleeping girl in the playpen. "The leader, she's a parent, a mother, right?"
"Yeah, Negan killed her daughter, a son to I think," Quinn said. "Why?"
"I can talk to her, mother to mother," Jewel answered.
"Quinn tried that, she didn't listen," Tara explained.
"Quinn didn't see her children on their knees with a baseball bat to their face. God knows, I wish I hadn't, but I did. And, it's an image that's not going to go away, not anytime soon. I bet she's not going to forget her child being murdered anytime soon. We talk, woman to woman, mother to mother, and if that doesn't work, then bring guns a blazing."
"Are you talking about going in there alone? Quinn and Tara just said that they barley got out of there alive," Jes said.
"I have to agree with Jes," Rick said.
"You'll all be right behind me, setting up. Tara, will you take me?" Jewel questioned.
"I will," Quinn answered. "If you're going to do this, then it should be me that goes with you. Mother to mother to mother, right?"
"Rick, tell me you don't agree with this," Jes exclaimed.
"I don't but she's going to do it anyway. We'll be with her, setting up. We'll give them half an hour, we see any trouble before that we go in."
Jewel nodded. "We need to get everyone," she said.
"I'll take Garza to Hilltop, get Jesus, Joey, Mitch, Summer, Sasha and Beth. We'll swing by and get Mar and Daryl from the Kingdom, meet you half way," Jes said.
"I bet Daryl and Mar already left Kingdom," Jewel said. "We'll get everyone here ready," she said with a nod to Rick.
