Sorry seems to be the hardest word

It was a slow, hellishly boring day at the guild. Natsu hated it. He'd rather have his fingernails pulled out then sit in there and do absolutely nothing. What a waste of time. It was all Lucy's fault.

He'd said something yesterday that had set her off. Did girls have to be so unreasonable? He couldn't even remember what he'd said anymore, so it couldn't have been that bad. There was no reason for her to blow up in his face. And there really was no reason to actually slap him. Not that it hurt, Lucy hit like a girl. It didn't have anything to do with her being a girl. Erza was also a girl, and Erza hit like an ogre… Better not say that out loud, though.

Not that Erza was at the guild. She'd gone off searching for Jellal two weeks ago, she still wasn't back.

Happy, the traitor, had sided with Lucy. Again. When he'd complained to Lisanna about the unfairness of it all, she'd first chuckled than chided him, said if Lucy was truly angry than he'd done something wrong and he needed to apologize. Nobody was on his side.

Even Mira had shaken her head and all but ordered him to find Lucy and apologize. As if. No way in hell was he apologizing for her overreacting. Not happening. And Laxus of all people had given him a disgusted look that plainly said he thought Natsu was an idiot. As if Laxus could talk. He was trailing Mira like a lovesick puppy but didn't have the balls to confess.

A small voice that sounded suspiciously like Happy told him that he wasn't much better. It's not like he'd told Lucy how he felt about her. He had no right to judge anyone. He pushed the voice back and continued sulking.

Not even Gray was there to fight with and take his frustrations out on. The asshole was only taking missions with Juvia, now. The two were on some cushy job on Akane Island that sounded more like a free vacation you get paid to take, and not work at all. Lucy had been so jealous when Gray had told her where they were going and why. And what was up with that? Why did Gray always come and say goodbye to Lucy? Natsu decided that he was doing it deliberately just to piss him off.

Just at that moment the doors opened and Gajeel and Levy walked in, the Dragon Slayer's arm around him girlfriend's shoulders, Levy's hands cupping her dissented belly gently. They were sickening, Natsu decided. Lucy would probably argue and say that they were adorable, but Lucy wasn't at the guild, so there.

Standing, Natsu ambled over to the table where Gajeel was helping Levy sit and joined them. After several minutes where Gajeel didn't say a word and Levy weaseled the reason for his bad mood out of him, Natsu decided that coming over was a bad idea. He should have just stayed at home, sleeping.

Levy turned away from him in a huff, muttering that she was surprised that Lu-chan kept him around at all. Then Gajeel had to deal the death-shot.

"Honestly, the Cheerleader is way too good for you. Why she puts up with you is a mystery. She should just get rid of you. Not that she wouldn't find a new partner in an instant. Girl pretty much has to look at a guy and he'd beg to lick her boots."

Natsu couldn't even get angry. It's not like he hadn't had the same thought about a thousand times.

Being depressed for long wasn't in Natsu's constitution, though. He was way too wired to be down.

Decision made in an instant, Natsu shot out of his seat and run through the doors. Time to make Lucy see things his way.

He found her at home, curled up on the bed with a book, Happy napping on her lap. He let himself in through the window and for a moment the two just sat there, looking at each other. Finally, Natsu ruffled his hair and looked away.

"I'm sorry, Luce."

And Lucy smiled.

AN: The title is honestly longer than the story. Just a drabble, hope you like it. I kinda wanna write more Natsu POV. He's fun to write.
