The next day, David and Slither were supervising the mechanics as they put new engines into the vehicles.
"Are those the magic engines you built?" asked Itami as he walked up.
"Yeah, instead of running on gas they'll run on the magical energy in the air, you'll never have to refill a gas tank again with them," said David.
"Wish we could use them on Earth, it might help the environment," said Itami.
"Actually we can, my research has actually proven that there is a magical energy covering the Earth, just not the Special Region," said David.
"Really?" asked a shocked Itami.
"Yes, I even discovered that Earthlings can use magic," said David as a tiny light came out of his left index finger.
"He even created his own spells, that's how we made the engines since they are made of tungsten, his original spells were able to make the metal pliable so no welding was need for it's made in one part," said Slither as she came out from under a car where she had been working to get the engine in.
"That sounds interesting, mind teaching me some of the spells?" asked Lelei who had tagged along with Itami.
"Sure thing," said David. A few hours later, the two were at the shooting gallery.
"This is the easiest of spells that I've created," said David before saying 'Light Strike'. This caused a tiny light to shoot out toward the target, hitting it in the chest.
"So, it's an offensive spell of light," said Lelei as she studied the spell.
"That's correct, now try it when you're ready," said David as he made way for her to step forward. Meanwhile, Itami was talking with Yanagida in his office.
"She sent a letter to us?" asked Itami as he looked at a letter covered in coal dust that was sitting on Yanagida's desk.
"And we have no choice but to follow her demand, so I want you to head out tomorrow," said Yanagida.
"Let's make sure not to tell Rory about this," said Itami with a worried expression.
