Shattered on Impact

Writer's Note: This is an RP with a friend which after thinking for a bit, I had felt it would make a good story.. Also, this story might get a bit dark and there are a few scenes that may get extremely dramatic.. If anyone is interested in reading it, I hope you all enjoy the story. Prologue

His head throbbed and he let out a groan. Sora opened his eyes, his vision blurring in and out of focus as he took in his surroundings, finding he was lying on a gravelly beach as the sea water softly lapped against the shore. As Sora rolled onto his side, he let out an agonized cry as a sharp pain tore through his right hip. He took in ragged breaths as he reached toward it, gritting his teeth as he felt his hip, now realizing it had been shattered from the impact of the crash.

His entire body was in agony and it was becoming too much for him to bare.

However, as he became aware of his surroundings, he knew he had to find the others. Gathering his strength, he began to drag himself along the rough terrain, letting out another cry as the pain exploded through his right leg and back. He however refused to stop. He needed to know if his friends were alright.

Roxas let out a groan at the throbbing pain in his head. He opened his eyes and winced as he reached up to rub his temple but froze as he felt something wet and sticky. Roxas pulled his hand away, his eyes going wide in horror as he saw his hand was coated in a deep crimson red. He took ragged and shaky breaths as he began to hyperventilate. A distant agonized cry caught his attention and he glanced around, finding he was lying just outside the now destroyed Gummi Ship. All around him, he could see bits of the ship had been torn off and scattered about the gravelly beach around him. The cries of agony were drawing closer, causing Roxas to painfully stagger to his feet.

"Sora.."

Ignoring the dizziness in his head, he made his way toward the agonized voice.

Sora's progress was painfully slow as he continued dragging himself across the gravel shoreline, gritting his teeth in agony. He lifted his head as he heard a familiar voice.

"R..x..as..?"

Sora cringed as he pulled himself to his feet. Fighting through his agony, he limped onward, going in the direction of Roxas's call.

"I'm...ERGH...I'm h-here..." he groaned aloud, steadying himself on a nearby rock, deciding to take a break, breathing in long and deep breaths.

Roxas hurried to Sora's side, stumbling a bit as the pain in his head worsened. As he reached Sora, horror flashing on his face as he took in the sight of his friend's injuries. Sora's pained cough, snapped Roxas back to reality. He was shocked to see Sora being able to stand with the injury to his right hip.

"Sora! O-oh my GOD!"

He very carefully took hold of Sora's arm to ease him up, carefully wrapping Sora's arm around his shoulder, so Sora could lean on him for support.

"I've.. I've got you!"

Sora looked up and was shocked and horrified to see blood dribbling down from Roxas's left temple from the rather deep gash. Shaking away his unease, Sora finally spoke up.

"Y-Yeah, that...was a bad crash...maybe we should s-sit down and...and try to summon our Keyblades to do some healing magic?" he suggested.

"Y-yeah.." Roxas stammered.

He was about to continued when a feeling of dread washed over him and with Sora leaning against him for support, Roxas made his way across the rugged shore to search for the others.

Isa opened his eyes, finding he was lying on his back, his body half submerged within what he realized was a tidal pool not far from the crash site.

He painfully turned his head to try and see where he was. It was then he realized he could only see through one eye as a the impact had created a deep gash, causing blindness in his left eye. Isa turned to his right and could see the familiar spiky red-head resting against the side of the mostly demolished Gummi Ship. Isa groaned as he painfully sat up, wincing at the throbbing pain in his head. Ignoring his pain he staggered to his feet and hurried over to Axel's side, trying his best to shake him awake.

"Lea? Lea!"

Axel moaned in his unconscious state, muttering a bit, head tilting side to side. Sora and Roxas had reached them. Isa was at Axel's side, trying to wake him while Riku still lay sprawled on the gravelly terrain. They took in the sight of Axel's scrapes and bruises. However, it was then they took notice of Axel's worst injury. They stared in horror at the bones in Axel's left foot. They were unmistakably visible under Axel's skin, jetting out to the side and causing his foot to turn the wrong way.

Sora let out a horrified cry and Roxas lost all the color in his cheeks.

"Axel!" Sora cried, averting his gaze from his friend's injury. "Axel!" he screamed again.

"Axel?" Roxas asked in a voice barely above a whisper.

Axel cringed as his eyes slowly fluttered open. "R-Roxas...?" he asked quietly as his friends knelt down by the foot, looking it over. "...ohhh...h-hey...my...I think I...hurt my foot...bad..." He muttered.

Roxas swallowed thickly as he turned to look at him

"Axel.. Y-your foot.. I-it's hanging off!" Roxas stammered.

He turned back and reached out, hesitating before gently taking hold of Axel's injured foot. Roxas had never set a bone before, but he wasn't willing to let his friend suffer any more agony.

"Now, this might hurt.." Roxas gently warned. "On three... One.. Two.."

Roxas suddenly applied pressure and with one quick motion..

CRACK!

Roxas winced but soon looked at Axel's foot and dispute it being covered in blood, his foot seemed to have been put back correctly.

Axel cringed, biting his lip, taking in deep, long breaths through his nose. "Well, my foot feels more "right"...but D*MN does it hurt."

After making sure to keep Axel's foot as straight as possible, Roxas tore one of the sleeves from his shirt and began to carefully wrap Axel's foot up with some of the rather sturdy pieces of nearby driftwood.

"Well at least that's fixed." Sora sighed, wiping his brow in relief.

Roxas smiled but soon began to feel dizzy. He winced as he gripped at his head.

"Hey, w-what's going on?"

Roxas turned in the direction of the familiar voice. Riku was making his way toward them, tightly gripping his chest. He let out a pained grunt and clenched his teeth as his breath hitched in his throat. He fell to his knees as he could feel a sharp, jabbing pain in his chest.

"Riku!" Sora cried in horror.

As Riku took in pained, shallow gasps, it was then he realized something.

"I.. I t-think my r-ribs are b-broken.." he choked out.

Sora looked at him in deep concern but soon spoke up.

"Okay, we-we can handle this..." Sora insisted as he began to tear off his shirt, wincing at the movements he made.

He took the pieces, making them into bandage strips to wrap around Riku as carefully as he could.

"Okay, we gotta bandage y-you up, make sure to keep pressure off the ribs." he reasoned.

Riku smiled a little but winced, sucking in a breath as pain tore through his chest at the slightest touch.

"G-Good...good idea..." Axel grunted. "Got any...any good?"

Roxas raced on over to find some more driftwood, giving it to Axel, who was tearing his own clothing to make a "brace" for his foot. "This way I can walk." he reasoned. "But Sora, you and Roxas know a bit of healing magic, summon your Keyblades, cast some "Cure" on us, that'll help." he suggested.

Roxas nodded and using what strength he had, he summoned his Keyblade.

"Cura!" Roxas commanded.

As the healing magic washed over them, Roxas suddenly was overtaken by extreme dizziness. Sora could feel his hip had mostly healed, though it was still painful to use his right leg. Riku could feel whatever had been broken was moving back into place, giving him the relief of being able to breathe without excruciating pain.

Axel grinned as he shook his bandaged leg. "Phew. The pain's gone. Think it's not broken anymore, just sprained. Better go easy on it."

"I think I...maaaay have overexerted myself." Roxas admitted as he steadied himself against a nearby tree.

"Well, we need to set up shelter for the night." Riku suggested. "We could use the busted ship as a shelter. Let's do up the walls and the like and make a makeshift little house."

Isa nodded in agreement, his injury now only being a bruise, though his eye was still swelled shut.

They all began to work on getting the pieces together, though Sora's hip and leg still hurt horribly, he was able to use it. Up above, thunder began to rumble as rain clouds began to form up above.

Author's Note: I had this idea on my mind ever since starting the RP with my friend.. I will try to get more up soon..
