Part Two

The storm continued on through the night and into the morning. Riku was the first to awake. He let out a groan as he painfully sat up. His body ached and he felt extremely dizzy but he managed to stand up, making his way over to Axel.

"How are you holding up?" he asked.

Axel yawned, and stretched his arms a bit.

"I stayed up all night. Good news, there were no coyotes or the like." He commented. "We're safe from wild animals...and I'm DEAD TIRED." He admitted as he now began to lie down to take HIS sleep. "I'm just gonna conk out..."

Riku nodded and took a seat.

"I'll go through the supplies we have. We might need to gather more supplies if we want to keep up our strength."

He started to get up, stumbling a little as the pain in his body became stronger.

"I'll let the others know that we're secure."

"Good idea." Sora said as Axel, meanwhile, had totally conked out and was fast asleep. "I'll stay on guard here."

Riku nodded and placed a hand on his shoulder, when he was suddenly hit by a splitting headache, causing him to let out grunt of agony.

"R-Riku?"

Riku clenched his eyes shut as he gritted his teeth.

"M..y... H-head..."

He fell to his knees.

"R-Riku!?"

Riku gripped at his head in agony as he curled into a tight ball on the floor. Sora knelt at his side and gently rubbed his shoulder.

"Riku.."

Riku's breathing was becoming shaky and ragged. He tried to open his eyes, immediately regretting it as everything seemed to be spinning wildly around him.

"Riku.. Riku, w-what's wrong..?" asked Sora, now completely concerned.

"My... H..head..." he croaked. "I.. I c-can't.."

"It's okay, Riku.. It's okay.. You need rest.." Sora soothed, gently rubbing his shoulder.

Sora looked up at Isa who was at their side. Isa removed his jacket and after folding it, he carefully placed it beneath Riku's head, causing Riku to let out a pained whimper.

Roxas was close by, going through the first aid kit they had, finding three Mega-Potions, two Hi-Potions, and three bottles of water, soon reaching the bottom of the box. He turned to look at them with a grim expression.

"These are all we have left.." Roxas frowned.

Sora's eyes grew wide in shock before he turned to look at Riku, who was now in a cold-sweat. Riku shivered and coughed, his breathing becoming more ragged by the second.

"Riku.. H-hang in there.." Sora told him. "You're gonna be okay.."

"What we need to do is go searching for signs of human civilization." Isa reasoned. "And if nobody finds anything, we need to work on repairing the Gummi ship." He told them all. "This is our best chance for survival."

"He's right." Roxas reasoned as he looked around at the others, Axel still asleep.

Sora looked back at Riku, whose breathing had become shaky and raspy as he tried to breathe.

Sora slowly eased Riku into his back, causing his friend to let out a pained grunt. Carefully he took one of the potions and lifted it up to Riku's lips. The moment Riku started to drink the potion, he felt a dull ache in his chest again. Riku coughed and felt his body fighting against the potion. However, Riku managed to keep it down.

"There we go.." Sora smiled gently, hugging him gently. "We're gonna get you help."

"Me and Isa will go," said Roxas. "We're going to see if there's anyone here.."

Sora remained silent and Roxas made his way over and gently rubbed his shoulder, causing Sora to look up.

"It's gonna be okay.."

Sora bit his lip as he fought back a whimper that was threatening to come out. Roxas patted Sora's shoulder again, and then he and Isa made their way out of the Gummi ship, heading off to the east, since the west was basically just ocean and beach.

"Let's get to high ground." Isa reasoned. "Then we can keep an eye out for towns or the like. Let's find a very tall tree or mountain."

Roxas nodded as they headed into what seemed to be a jungle, yet, the trees were much like those in Twilight Town. Roxas looked up at the nearest tree and after taking a breath, he slowly made his ascent upward.

As Roxas made his way up the tree, Isa looked up at him from below. "See anything?"

"Not yet!" Roxas called out as he kept climbing, higher and higher. It was pretty easy for him though, he had experience with climbing. Soon, at last, he'd reached the top and he peered out. "Ah! I see a valley!" He called back. "And...there's a small town! It's a long ways off, but it's definitely there!" He said happily.

"Excellent," Isa smiled approvingly. "We should head back to others."

Roxas nodded as he began to climb down, soon he was back on Isa's level and he was heading back with Isa back towards the Gummi ship. "It's our first bit of good news in a long while!"

Back at the Gummi Ship shelter, Riku's condition had not improved but had become worse. Riku was in a cold sweat and his breathing was shaky and ragged. Sora was at his side, trying to use his Keyblade to heal him.

"Easy, Riku, Easy.."

"Sora.." Riku croaked. "I'm sorry for e-everything.. How I treated you in the past when we were kids.."

"Riku, it's okay," said Sora. "You're gonna be okay."

Author's Note: I was able to get more of the RP this story is based on so here's the next part.. I had been working on a lot of other things lately and so it may take time to get more up.. I will try to update soon..
