It's my first fic so reviews with ways to improve are always appreciated. Inspired by Fei Cai's Ascencion and the fact that there aren't many RI fanfictions, hope you like it.
Eastern sea
The Gu world is divided into five major regions, the Southern Border, Western Border, Northern Plains, Eastern Sea and Central Continent.
The Western Border is recognized for its vast desert as only yellow sand could be seen everywhere.
The Southern Border is known for being full of mountains and its great rivers.
The Northern Plains are notorious for its huge grassland.
The Central continent is acknowledged as the strongest region. And is the headquarters for Heavenly Court, the strongest human organization in the world.
Lastly, there is the Eastern sea known for its enormous sea.
In the northern parts of the Eastern sea, we can see a silhouette of a young man being pursued by a crowd of people.
"Wu Yi Hai, you damn demon hand over Gamer Gu and I'll let you live!"
"Scoundrel give this senior your Gu and face retribution for your acts!"
"Wu Yi Hai, the supreme elder of the Tang Clan Tang Song, requires your presence in the Immortal Gu house!"
"Monster you killed my father and stole his Gu to refine yours, by right your Gu now belongs to me, give it to me and this young master will give you a quick death!"
Wu Yi Hai was drenched from heads to toes with blood, his hair rumpled, covering his wide and tall nose while his right eye was nowhere to be seen.
His once pure-white robes, now darkly stained crimson red, rippled in the wind, showing his muscular body, the jostling causing droplets of the red liquid to fall to the ground around his feet. He knew he was doomed, and despite trying not to let his emotions show, those in the mob could easily recognize the looks of anger and silent resignation on his face.
The sky had many white clouds, there was no starlight, only the sun was blazing, the sunlight could not penetrate the cloud layers, it only made the place brighter.
The youth flies between the currents as he tried to lose his pursuers. Drops of water fall from his forehead, and his speed fell before stopping behind an enormous white cloud.
Inside the white clouds, swirls collided with each other as they formed a shape wide at the top and narrowing toward the bottom, similar in appearance to an upside-down pyramid.
The cloud layers are renowned through the Eastern Sea as one of the most dangerous natural phenoms of the region. If one is carelessly entering it, one will be trapped and lose freedom because of its special environment.
He was inside the Turbulent Flow Sea, a place filled with these phenoms. He entered, trying to shake off the Gu Immortals pursuing him.
As Wu Yi Hai stopped flying, his pursuers eyes settled on the cloud layer behind him taking a step back.
The biggest cloud layer in the entire Sea was a few steps behind him, making his enemies retreat some meters. ´The cloud layer is about to move I need to leave´ Thought Wu Yi Hai
His remaining eye moved, focusing on the landscape his pursuers. Countless plans emerged in the youth's head, trying to look for an opening, but were quickly discarded.
"You have nowhere to go, Demon came to face the judgment of your sins!"
A Gu immortal was flying in the center leading the other Gu Immortals "Wu Yi Hai you shouldn't have rejected my invitation as an external elder in the Shen Clan"

Looking at the bunch of Immortals coming for his head, memories of his life emerged before his eyes.
He started as a lone Gu Master with his master Uncle Zhang, a Transformation Gu Immortal.
As a ward of a Gu immortal he was above normal Gu masters in both foundation and prestige, under Zhang teachings he began studying Transformation Path in which he was renowned as a prodigy.
It all changed with the death of Uncle Zhang at the hands of an immemorial Desolate Beast while searching for refinement materials.
With his backer dead, the true aspect of the Gu world hit Wu Yi Hai with all its force.
Gu masters appeared right and left trying to rob him or probing him about the inheritance of his master, the Clans that used to welcome him now did not know him.
A wise man once said that bad luck is always followed by good luck.
This came true while exploring some ancient ruins in the Icy Sea Wu Yi Hai encountered an inheritance of a rank 8 Gu Immortal, feared and known in the Medieval Antiquity Era as the Gamer Immortal. (Limitless, Reckless and Red Lotus Venerable era)
With the legacy in his hands, Wu Yi Hai's progress skyrocketed ascending from his mortal state to a Gu Immortal. The ascension process is highly dangerous and suicidal if not prepared properly for and only a selected few can make their attempt at it and be successful.
That was until his fortune brought calamities in the form of jealous Gu Immortals and schemes. He was powerless to stop.
Shen Cong tired from waiting for the cloud layer to move started forming a Sound killer Move as a serious expression emerged on his face "Goodbye Wu Yi Hai repent your sins in hell"
A mocking smile formed in the Gamer while he said "Use token"

A white light surrounded Wu Yi Hai as his soul disappeared from his body not before self-destructing his aperture.

A sudden blinding flash followed by a muffled roar that mashed everything in its path. A hole appeared in the cloud layer as the currents broke free, followed by the screams of the Gu Immortals.

The sun hung high in the sky, the sound of water falling revolved the mountains and a stream of clear water flowed through the cascade forming a lake.
The body of a child laid down next to the lake.
The gasps of a boy broke the silence of the surroundings.
The child about 10 years old with black hair opened his eyes, exposing two blue spheres. "I'm alive"
The child shook, moving his gaze to look at the sun. "Hahaha Yes! It worked" he shouted with a pained voice. He was both excited and anxious.
Trying to stand up, his little hands and feet seized the attention of the kid. "Don't tell me…"
The sound of the feet impacting the grass resounded through the mountains.
"I'm a child, again" Whispered Wu Yi Hai while looking at the blue eyes that reflected in the lake. A hand splayed across the chest, shoulders falling down momentarily before stiffening, shaky fingers reaching up to his eyes.
Wu Yi Hai bit his lip and tightened his fingers around his head. A shiver shook him. He inhaled only a shallow breath and then struggled for another. Realization downed his face "So… if I'm not wrong, my self-detonation stopped Shen Cong Sheng killer move while the token brought my soul out and got me here"
Wu Yi Hai closed his eyes focusing on his soul, a shiny white figure appeared in his view. The figure was handsome and muscular, his nose wide and tall "Nothing is wrong with my soul it seems the child died before I possessed the body"
In the Gu world, every living being possesses an incorporeal soul that is residing inside their body, If the soul were not tampered with, it would have the true appearance of the being it originated from.
The transmigrator inspected his body, trying to find some object to help him in his current situation, but found nothing.
The Gu Master stared at his surroundings, some trees were wreathed in ivy, ever frozen in its embrace, whilst others were still bare; young shoots that hadn't enough time to have claimed companions... The ground was flourishing with leaves scattered across it. They were in varying shades of green: some were still budding, emerging a fresh, limey colour into the summer, whilst the grown, flatly panned leaves were brushed a lush emerald under the overhead sun.
´It seems I am in a forest. From the footprints on the ground, it looks there is not any danger for me here´
Wu Yi Hai tried sensing his aperture but surprise, fear, panic, shock, anger… all these expressions intertwined in his face and were all released with a sigh "Rank 1 again, at least I still have my grade A talent with and some Gu worms"
The aperture is a mysterious and enigmatic spherical space located inside the Gu Master's body around the stomach's area. Due to it being ethereal it does not occupy physical space such as an internal organ would.
The aperture is known as the Primeval Sea Aperture. The entire frame is spherical and the surface of it is covered in flowing white light, like a thin layer of light coating.
This thin membrane of light supported the aperture so it would not collapse, and inside the aperture was naturally, the Primeval Sea. The seawaters were smooth like a mirror, showing a greenish-blue color, yet the water was dense and brought about a copper luster. Only Rank one Gu Masters can form this green coppery primeval essence, known as the green copper sea.
The height of the sea surface was almost touching the top- 90% filled. This was the merit of a A grade talent. Every drop of seawater was pure primeval essence, representing the condensation of Wu Yi Hai's essence, vitality, and soul.
A Gu master life is dictated by their talent from A to D, the last one being the worst, as it takes up about 2-3 layers of the aperture, as for A grade talent, the primeval sea is plenty; it takes up 8-9 layers of the aperture.
This primeval essence is used by Gu Masters to raise and use Gu. Gu are the essence of heaven and earth. In the world there are thousands of species, countless number of Gu. They live everywhere – In the soil, in the bushes, even on the bodies of wild beasts.
Those who have opened the aperture, using their own primeval essence to feed, refine and manipulate these Gu – people who have achieved these various purposes are call Gu Masters.
Gu Masters have 9 ranks, from bottom to the top – Rank one, Rank two, Rank three all the way up to Rank nine. Every rank is considered a big realm, and it is divided into 4 small realms – initial stage, middle stage, upper stage, and peak stage.
Wu Yi Hai after countless challenges and hardships advanced to Rank six becoming an Immortal. Now he is back to the beginning of cultivation.
Focusing on his stomach area, a green spherical space appeared on his sight "The normal age to open the Aperture is fifteen as the Aperture needs to develop but judging by the size of my body, I should be around ten and my Talent wasn't affected"
"Let see… Rank 1 Mini Map Gu, Rank 1 Mission, Rank 1 Stats Gu, Rank 1 Analyze Gu, Rank 1 Human Nature Gu, Rank 1 Storage Gu and lastly my vital Gu Rank 1 Gamer Gu." Counted Wu Yi Hai while his lips formed a smile "My thinking was correct: Gamer Gu is indeed connected to my soul that's why it survived while all my other Gu died"
When Wu Yi Hai self-destructed his aperture, all his Mortal and Immortal Gu died as they resided inside his Primeval Sea Aperture but Immortal Gamer Gu didn't as it was connected to his soul.
Gu are also divided into 9 big levels, following the same concept of the 9 rank realms of Gu Masters.
Usually, Rank one Gu Masters can only use Rank one Gu. If they used higher-level Gu, these masters would need to pay an extremely heavy price. In addition, Gu need to be fed. The high cost of feeding higher level Gu was often not something lower-ranked Gu Masters could afford
"Originally Immortal Gamer Gu alone had the effects of all the Gu in the aperture but now it split in different Mortal Gu each one with one of its functions." Thought Wu Yi Hai while slowly opening his eyes.
The vital Gu is the most important Gu for Gu Masters as it interconnects their lives together. If it dies, the Gu master will suffer a huge blow.
"When I reach the ranks of immortals again, Gamer Gu should become complete again." Thought Wu Yi Hai throwing his hands up in the air.
Gu immortals are Gu Masters who ascended from their mortal state. The ascension is highly dangerous and only the genius or hard-working people ascend.
During the ascension they will undergo a deep transformation, their bodies would change as Dao marks would appear on them and it would renew their crushed mortal aperture into a unique immortal aperture with an isolated space and a blessed land located inside
"Wait, what is this Gu?" Pondered Wu Yi Hai while touching his chin, his attention completely taken on a Gu he never saw before.
The mysterious Gu in its own absorbed primeval essence, Wu Yi Hai tried to stop it as activating a Gu without knowing its function is risky but before he could act the translucent image of a Young man appeared on the air.
He was dressed in a black robe with short black hair with steel-grey eyes, and a skinny build, with the face you could not pick out of a crowd.
The wind blew his robe as the young man legs impacted the floor.
"Hum, so you are my inheritor" The young man exclaimed, while his eyes examined Wu Yi Hai and stopped directly in his eyes.
"…"
"…"
"*COUGH**COUGH* Can you answer me, young man, it's been a while since I had a conversation with someone" The young man said while grinning.
"Yes" Wu Yi Hai calmly replied.
"What's your name?" asked the young man while he caressed his chin.
"Wu Ye Hao, who are you?" Stated the Gu Master while raising an eyebrow.
"Me? You remember that mural where you encountered the inheritance did you?"
´He doesn't know my name this means he wasn't spying me form this Gu it only activated recently´ Thought Wu Ye Hai
Wu Yi Hai nodded as realization donned his face "You are the strongest and last Gu Gamer in history who I got the inheritance of"
"Yes, correct! Oh, you really are weak by the way, you should be an immortal when you discover world travelling" The young man commented.
Suddenly his expression changed as his eyes narrowed "Look kid I am just a will the main body left behind, tell me, Wu Yi Hao, why do you think I didn't ascend to Rank 9. Me! The most feared immortal in the Eastern Sea? Because it scared me? Was not strong enough? Of course not! Its fate Gu!" Shouted the young man, his eyes red containing madness and resentment.
Wu Yi Hai's eyebrows shot upwards while maintaining eye contact "You are talking about the Gu Heavenly court possess, aren't you?"
The strongest gamer took a second to calm down "Yes, the effect of Fate Gu is fate itself. You must know: All living beings in Gu World have certain paths in life that they follow, they cannot be allowed to change. That is the role of Fate Gu, which is just a pawn of Heaven's will to control all living beings, and the Gamer Gu, my lovely inheritor, goes against it. In my times when Fate Gu was complete going against it was suicidal, that's how I died child by going against fate itself." His lips pinched together as he smiled bitterly.

Wu Yi Hai's intense stare gawked at the sky, where the clouds were moving across swiftly. His eyes were clear and profound as the sea "Who would have thought me a Rank 6 Immortal was a threat to Heaven. Shiro could also be lying, but what does he gain from this?" Wu Yi Hai felt his throat closing up and tightness in the chest.
"Hahaha Shen Cong Sheng just wait for me I am already on my path, I have no regrets even if I die! I'll destroy Fate Gu and take revenge on the clans of the Eastern Sea who wronged me!" Shouted Wu Yi Hai with a particular tightness in his tone.
With the flick of a hand, a Gu appeared on Wu Yi Hai. The Gu looked like a worm but less wide and longer around the length of his hand with light-green skin. Two tiny black eyes sticking out from its tip seem to contain the abyss themselves. "Rank 1 Mission Gu"
The Gu worm started moving around Wu Yi Hai's hand, showing its happiness at being summoned.
Primeval essence flowed into the Gu "90%...80%...70%...60%… 50%" As the amount in the Aperture decreased, the Gu started shining, creating a blue light.
A translucent blue page with some words appeared in the air.

As the Image vanished the light in the Gu also dimmed out.
The Gu worm pace slowed down as its glow diminished and remain still.
Looking at the tired Gu, Wu Yi Hai sends it back into the aperture, "It seems the rate of Primeval essence is the same consuming almost half of my reserves. Now with the Gu activated missions will appear again but once a week I need to recharge it"
"At least the mission is easy-going considering my circumstances. Also, if I increase the rank of the Gu the difficulty and rewards will also rise" Wu Yi Hai thought while briefly closing his eyes.
Another Gu worm appeared on his hand "Rank 1 Mini Map Gu" its appearance resembled a round mirror with black marking in its sides with one huge shadowy eye in the center. Primeval essence flowed into the Gu as a map of the surroundings appeared on the mirror.
A white dot appeared in the center representing the Gu master surrounded by vegetation and mountains, while various red points emerged at the north of the map. "It seems the beasts are only further inside the mountain, as suspected this zone is safe."
"I should look for a shelter, mostly a cave or a village if I'm lucky enough" Thought the young Gamer as he began walking towards the trees with the Mini Map Gu in his hand.
The river flowed rapidly and unceasingly. Many life forms lived in the river: Fishes, crabs, snakes, and turtles.
The violent currents travelled strikingly along the river. The sunlight reflects in the river, revealing the transparent water.
Some meters away from the river, a cave was hidden behind some bushes.
A child could be seen seated in a lotus position.

Attainment is like a special intuition that helps the Gu Master to make the correct choices to solve a problem at hand. The different levels are like the comprehension of mathematical problems and their solutions.
The levels are: Ordinary, Master, Quasi-Grandmaster, Grandmaster, Quasi-Great Grandmaster, Great Grandmaster, Quasi-Supreme Grandmaster, and Quasi-Supreme Grandmaster.
A path is a part or an aspect of the Great Dao Gu Masters painstakingly explored while focusing on one path. To be called a path it has to have a clear 'direction' like an element (fire), a prospect of reality (time) or life (blood), or a specific effect (transformation). The path needs to cover the basic aspects like attack, defence, healing, movement, storage, and investigation.
The transformation path which Wu Yi Hai mainly cultivated is a path were cultivators use Gu to transform into beasts with the creature's abilities.
"Missions are a boost in cultivation, but I still need to cultivate." Thought Wu Yi Hai
Gu masters nourish their aperture walls and destroy them repeatedly with Primeval Essence until reaching the peak of mortal cultivation
Wu Yi Hai sighed "Now I should focus on Refining an offensive Gu"
a Gu master always needs to have a complete set as there are various types of Gu that can fulfil different purposes.
A complete set would have a defensive Gu, offensive Gu, movement Gu, investigation Gu, concealment Gu, healing Gu, storage Gu, cultivation Gu which speeds the rate of cultivation and amplification Gu which amplify the effects of another Gu.
These types also extend to more complex aspects of Gu usage, such as killer moves, formations, and Gu houses
Wu Yi Hai focused on his stomach as a bunch of Gu appeared floating and nourishing inside his aperture. "I need to refine a Gu with low requirements to feed in every rank, It also needs to have the potential to develop killer moves. I'm lucky my Gu from the Gamer inheritance are connected to my soul so I need not to feed them as they are all interconnected with Gamer Gu''
"For Support I have Rank 1 Analyze Gu, Rank 1 Stats Gu, and Rank 1 Human Nature Gu. Rank 1 Mini map Gu for investigation, Rank 1 Storage Gu for storage and Rank 1 Gamer Gu for cultivation."
Primeval essence flowed through the Aperture as it poured into a Gu that looked like a white round ball with three black eyes each next to each other and a big mouth which looked like a mini black hole "Rank 1 Storage Gu"
A black hole appeared in front of Wu Yi Hai as Refinement materials started levitating to the floor "As I thought, Rank 1 Storage Gu was able to protect Rank 1 materials but the rest were destroyed. All Refinement Materials of Rank 2 or more were all ruined, the same with the Gu worms of all the ranks. It seems travelling through space is more dangerous than I thought"
Wu Yi Hai scratched the back of his neck before he sighed out loud "Let's be positive at least I can still Refine Gu"
His hands and eyes started moving, scanning, and testing the conditions of the Gu.
A major aspect of a Gu Master's cultivation is the refinement of Gu. Creating, fusing, and increasing the rank of a Gu with the use of refinement materials
Wu Yi Hai Grabbed the blood of a Rank 1 Cold-blooded Snake and the eye of a blood-beast "With this material I can refine Cold-Blood Gu which can freeze the blood of my targets but only those on my line of sight. I only need to feed it some of my blood to keep it alive, it is perfect"
With a flick of his hands, the dark hole absorbed almost all the other materials, except some primeval stones and disappeared.
A Gu Master had two ways to replenish the consumed primeval essence. The first way was natural recovery. After some time, the primeval sea would naturally replenish the primeval essence. With an A grade talent like Wu Yi Hai, it would take about one hour to replenish 8% of primeval essence.
The second way was to absorb the natural essence directly from a primeval stone.
The primeval stone is a treasure from nature itself. As condensed natural primeval essence, while absorbing it the water level of the primeval sea was rising with a continuous speed that could be seen with the naked eye.
Wu Yi Hai sat cross-legged on the floor. He closed his eyes slowly and after a few seconds, his breath started getting softer.
Focusing on his stomach, the aperture appeared in his mind, In the aperture we could see a sea covering 90% of the space. The water was a green copper colour.
This was the green copper primeval essence of a Rank 1 Master. Gu Masters need to rely on primeval essence to refine and use Gu.
Wu Yi Hai grabbed the blood of the snake and the Blood-beast. With a simple thought, the primeval essence in the aperture flew out of the body and rushed into both drops of blood.
Gu are the essence of heaven and earth, carrying the secrets of the world, the bearers of the law of nature. They are living creatures that live freely under the sky, each born with a will of its own.
If Wu Yi Hai were trying to refine a wild Gu, he would have to wipe its will, but as he is creating one, that process is not necessary.
Wild Gu are Gu formed naturally by the environment based on the Dao marks in each place.
In a cold mountain, Gu of Ice path would form after the cold environment. The opposite, in a volcano a Gu of the Fire path would form after the hot environment.
An enormous volume of primeval essence poured into the snake blood as it started colliding and blended with the other blood.

As both types of blood started mixing, a Gu began forming in the middle.
"Now!" Wu Yi Hai shouted as he injected more primeval essence into the mix.
A miniature explosion occurred in the mix. Dust flew everywhere as an insect appeared in the middle of the cave.
"The refinement was a success," said Wu Yi Hai while smirking and grabbing the Gu.
As the Gu was created by him enforcing his will into the Gu probed no problem.
The will inside the Gu serves as a deterrent, it allows the Gu Master who refined the Gu to detonate it with just a thought, making it virtually impossible to forcefully obtain their Gu.
Rank 1 Cold-Blood Gu positioned in Wu Yi Hai. It had a red Shell with the form of a silkworm, its entire body giving out red light with two fangs in its mouth.
"With this Gu at least, I have something to defend myself" Wu Yi Hai grabbed the Gu and placed it in his aperture.
The aspect of refining Gu from materials and other Gu is an act of fusing and making traces or fragments of the Great Dao interact with each other. This process is more mystical than chemistry, and even more dangerous than processing gunpowder. Refining Gu is costly because each attempt needs a high number of fresh materials and Gu in sometimes large quantities.
That's why even Wu Yi Hai a Refinement Grandmaster has difficulties refining Gu.
