I open my eyes, the vision fuzzy, and blinding with the sunlight blaring me in the face. I try to get up. "AH," I shout as I attempt to sit up grabbing my side. Everything is in pain head to toe. I grab the counter, and hoist myself up. I sit in the chair that is somehow still standing. As I look around I see the results of the battle from the night. The table smashed the wall with a crack in it from my body being slammed into it. I start to cry uncontrollably. How could I let this happen! Sylas is gone, and I could not even save him. Who were those people, and why us? Why Sylas?
I soon get up off the chair, and wincing from pain make my way to my room where I slowly get changed. I have to find Mary, maybe she can help me figure this out. I finish changing, and I grab some medical supplies I had bought from the city. I bandaged myself up the best I could. I head out to go to Mary"s house. As I walk there people are staring at me. I can feel their minds wondering what happened wanting to ask. I just keep walking ignoring everyone, but also keeping an eye out. I see Mary's house in the distance, and I start walking faster into a light jog, everything in pain, but I do not care. I rush through the door.
"Mary! Mary are you home?" I shout through the doorway. There is nothing but silence though.
I look around to see not much of anything in her home. I go to her bedroom it has been rummaged through as though someone was packing. Clothes, and items still left lying around. Where is she? Could they have gotten her too? What the hell was going on?
I head back out, and I go to the churches to see if she is anywhere there. I ask around with no luck no one has seen her at all. This is so strange. I start to feel nervous about this setting. I need to go back home, and think things out. I head back to my house, but stop in front of the doorway. Tears start streaming down my face as I see the footprints in the dirt of those bastards that took him. How do I even find him though I have no leads or any information on them at all. I think hard about last night to see if I could remember anything. Then it clicks, the markings on the man's hand, and the cloaked woman's wrist. It was a circle with three stars inside it. It must be the symbol of the guild. I quickly grab paper, and draw it down so I do forget. I need to find him, and Mary. I go into my room, grab my bag, and start packing things into it. My books, some clothes, and sleeping bag. I throw it over my shoulder with a determined look on my face and I start out the door. I chose not to look back as for the fact I might lose the want to leave.
As I walk through the city I see a cloak hanging there. I grab it, and purchase it.
"Oh also sir have you any information on this symbol by any chance?"
He stares at me, "You girl it would be very wise of you to not be asking things you have no idea about, you never know who is listening." says the merchant in this snarl tone.
I just stare at him and quickly hide my face into the hood, and walk away in a hurry. I did not know if he was following me or not, but I knew I must leave Norvalys soon as I can. I will need help. I could not fight this battle alone. I will look for strong adventurers who can help me with this. Maybe I can find more information on this symbol elsewhere. I scurried along eyeing people left and right. I jumped into an alley as I saw a man come towards me his energy not so welcoming. I decide I have to sneak out better. I go into my cat form. As I hide I see the large man walk into the alley way, look around, and then leave.
I sprint out of the ally way, and rush to the gates. I walk out of the city not knowing if it will be safe to go back right away which means something is really up, and I know my brother is in major danger if I do not find him soon. I hide behind a tree and revert back to my elven form. I start walking down the trail to a new area, and new adventurer.
As I make my way for what seems like forever I come across a quaint little town called Concourse. It was a lively town full of people enjoying life, and being happy. Families seeming so full of joy. It made me feel lonely. I slap my cheeks. Come on Drusillia get yourself together. As I start thinking about everything that has happened I see an inn where I check in. I then ask the teller if they have seen the symbol. She says no, I tell her no worries, and starts asking people around the inn, and town. With no avail no one knows of this symbol. I sigh, and decide to eat then head to bed. The bed is comfy after being forced to sleep on the ground for so long I forgot how much I missed beds. I think about home, and mama, and papa. If they knew what happened they would be so upset right now. I have to save him for them. I turn the lamp out, and fall asleep.
As I wake the next morning I make myself presentable before heading out into town to ask more people, and honestly shop. Gosh I love shopping, clothes especially. The town does not seem to have much of a fashion taste to be honest, which is upsetting so I find nothing good. I continue to ask the town folk if they have seen this symbol one boy tells me to check the board where they hang wanted signs, and jobs. There was a similar symbol on one of the posters there. I looked around town for the board which happened to be in the inn I was staying in. I have no idea how I missed it. As I am looking at the board I hear some people walking down the stairs, and into the lobby. They were loud, but seemed exciting. I also have not talked to them yet. As I think of a way to approach them, the one bumps into me.
