They woke with a start the next morning when the sun came up. Draco woke before Elodie, and looked down at her to see her cuddled against his arm. He smiled sweetly at her, before letting his face look sleepy again and nudging her awake. They sat there for a few moments before getting up, and brushing off their clothes of some ash from the fire pit.
"Well, we should probably go in," Draco started.
"I think we should probably go home," Elodie suggested, "After all, we have a train to catch today."
"Honestly, I was planning on appariting, but Mcgonagall gave me the head boy position this year, so I'm stuck on the train," He sighed.
"Head boy?" Elodie raised an eyebrow, "What the hell is that?"
"Oh, it basically just means that I'm in charge of all the prefects. Prefects are glorified hall monitors," Draco laughed.
"Oh, look at you, how fancy that must be," Elodie mocked.
"Well the real fancy part is, I get my own dormitory, common room with the head girl, bathroom, all that."
"Oh my, don't get in too much trouble," Elodie raised her eyebrows.
"I don't think I will," He smiled, "At least unless you'll be joining me in my bed. I don't think you'd be quiet enough to sneak it."
Elodie gasped and smacked him playfully in the arm. He laughed and grabbed the spot she smacked and made a sound of despair.
"You're a dog," she laughed.
The two parted ways at the apparition point just outside of the grounds at the Greengrass manor and each went home.
Elodie found Pansy sitting in the foyer at the bottom of the stairs, reading a book.
"Have a fine night?" Pansy smirked, putting her book down in her lap.
"I did actually, yes, we made up I suppose," Elodie smiled.
"I'm very happy to hear that, El," Pansy beamed, "Now I guess we can start going on double dates when we sneak out to Hogsmade!"
"Is that what you guys do?" Elodie laughed, "I mean, it makes sense, I'm not surprised."
"Yes, yes, well we are rule benders. Now, go get your things," Pansy motioned to where her trunks were in the corner of the room, "We have a train to catch, and only two hours to prepare. I forgot, we haven't done the alterations to your uniform so I wanted to go ahead with that before we make our way over to the station."
"Oh right, do you want me to put it on for you first?" Elodie asked.
Pansy nodded, and the two girls headed upstairs to get to work.
An hour later, the two girls were pushing their carriages with their belongings down the platform, making their way to the train with their parents. After some difficult goodbyes, and lots of kisses, they parted ways with their parents and headed onto the train to find their friends. They quickly found Astoria and Daphne, sitting in a compartment across from Blaise. Pansy plopped down beside him and Elodie smushed herself right between the sisters, after kissing each of them on the cheek.
"And where are your better halves?" Pansy teased, poking Blaise in the side.
"In a prefect meeting," He said, looking entirely unamused.
Elodie sighed in relief, not wanting to see Draco so soon after their night together by the fire. The five continued on talking as they sat on the now moving train, and in what felt like no time at all, Pansy kicked Elodie's shoe and motioned out the window to show her that they had almost arrived.
The three girls, excluding Astoria who had already gotten dressed in her school robes, left to go change. When they returned, they were all in their matching uniforms, all four girls skipped their mary janes for a pair of black pumps, and skipped the knee high socks for sheer stockings. All of their skirts were just a little too short, and their shirts probably a little too tight, but Elodie was pleased that their uniforms looked a little bit better than she remembered. She admired herself in the reflection of the train window, and as she did, in the reflection she saw the door open and Draco step in behind her. She watched a smirk form on his face, and she smirked back.
"Hello love," He said, giving her a once over in the reflection as she was doing to herself, "I must say, green really is your color."
"As you've mentioned before," She said plainly, turning to face him.
"Anyway, just coming to make sure you lot are ready, we're almost there," Draco said to the whole room.
"Always are, we've done this a few times, mate," Blaise rolled his eyes in response.
"Right, well I've also come to ask Daphne," Draco started, and turned to the blonde witch, "If you could please give Elodie the prefect tour tonight."
"I'm not a prefect anymore Draco," Daphne said, "Why don't you have one of those lazy arses give it, then?"
"Well, I just figured you might make Elodie feel a little more at home," Draco raised a brow at her, "Besides they'll be busy with the first years, and I wouldn't want to subject Elodie to hanging out with a bunch of 11 year olds today."
"Fair," Daphne retorted, "I don't mind of course, they're just a bunch of lazy twats, which is why I left that responsibility behind last year," She said, turning to Elodie.
Elodie smiled and nodded, suddenly feeling nervous now that she was almost there. She excelled in everything at Beauxbatons, but would it be the same for her here at Hogwarts? She would have to actually try out for quidditch, which she wasn't excited for here. Quidditch at Hogwarts was definitely a boys club, if she remembered correctly from when she visited during the Triwizard Tournament. Of course, classes would be fine, but would she make any friends outside of the tight knit circle she had spent her summer with? Her mind was swimming, and Draco could tell. He rested his hand on her lower back and leaned down to whisper in her ear that everything would be fine, and she would do great.
A short while later, the group was seated together at the table in the great hall, eating dinner and chatting together. Elodie's anxiety was through the roof, and she barely picked at her food.
"I need a glass of wine, where can I get some?" Elodie said, glancing down the table.
"They don't allow us to drink here," Blaise responded.
"What? Ever?" Elodie looked panicked, "They allowed us at 16 at Beauxbaton."
"Yeah, never. Don't panic though, Draco sneaks it in for us," Pansy smiled and nudged her shoulder. The rest of the group chuckled at Elodie's expression of relief, "Do you really think I could have made it this far without?"
"Thank the good Gods," Elodie sighed, and looked to Draco, "So when can we do that?"
"Just after dinner," He chuckled in response.
After dinner, Daphne took Elodie for a tour, showing her where each of her classes were, along with all of Daphne's favorite spots in the castle. The tour ended back in the dungeons in the Slytherin common room, where the rest of the group, excluding Draco and Theo, were waiting for them. It was a large room with several couches, loveseats, and tables, all centered around a large fireplace.
"Can we go change before we join them?" Elodie asked Daphne, "I could really use a molletonné and some shorts."
Daphne nodded and led her up the stairs to the dormitory, where all of their trunks were waiting for them, pushed up to the foot of each bed. Elodie walked over to hers and pulled out some pajama shorts and a jumper. She stripped off her uniform and dressed in her sleep clothes, trading in her pumps for slippers. Daphne did the same, pulling on a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt, before the pair traveled back to the common room.
"Oy, the wine is here and ready for us," Blaise motioned for them to join the rest of the group on the couches and they obliged happily.
The next day, Elodie was traipsing through the hall, trying to find her Ancient Runes class, when she crashed into another student, coming around a corner. Both students apologized frantically to each other, before the other looked and realized who she had just crashed into.
"Oh, you're the new transfer from Beauxbaton, right? Elodie?" The other witch said, assessing Elodie.
"Oh, yes, Elodie Brodeur," She said, extending her hand to the other witch.
"Hermione Granger," She said, accepting the handshake, "Are you lost?"
"Actually, yeah, I'm looking for ancient runes," Elodie looked a little embarrassed, "It's just, I saw so many places on my tour yesterday, and this place is so big."
"Oh, of course," Hermione said, smiling, "Come with me, I'm actually headed there now. And don't worry, I used to get lost in this place all the time."
The pair carried off together, walking the opposite direction of the way Elodie was originally headed, and eventually made their way to the classroom.
"Not sure if you've any friends here, but if you'd like to sit with me, you're more than welcome to," Hermione said, smiling wide. Elodie nodded, assessed the students in the classroom, recognizing no one, and sat with Hermione toward the front of the class. They talked briefly before class began, but the conversation ended as soon as the professor walked in.
After class, Hermione walked Elodie to Potions, and they compared class schedules. They had most of their classes together. That is when Elodie remembered Mcgonagall telling her that she would likely have many classes with a girl by the name of Hermione. Elodie smiled with Hermione as they chatted about their very serious class load. When they walked into potions, Elodie remembered that this was the class that all of her friends were in with her, and turned to Hermione as they walked in.
"Thank you so much for the escort, I'm going to sit with another friend for this class, love," Elodie said smiling even more, "I'll catch up with you after."
Hermione nodded and smiled back, before Elodie walked down to a table toward the middle of the room and plopped down at the table next to Daphne, next to the table that was home to Blaise and Draco. Hermione stared, but walked right passed the table to the front of the room, where she sat next to a boy with messy brown hair, who, now that she noticed, was now staring at Elodie, making her feel extremely uncomfortable. Elodie leaned over to Daphne, not breaking eye contact with the boy, and motioned to him, asking her why the fuck this kid was staring at her. Daphne laughed, and simply shook her head and mouthed that she would tell her later.
After classes for the day were finally over, Elodie ran into Draco in the hallway, who like a gentleman, walked her to the great hall for dinner. She sat beside him and they flirted shamelessly in front of anyone that might be listening. Draco was being a dog, as usual, and Elodie would laugh, and then tell him to fuck off. He loved the dynamic they shared, and she seemed to like it more and more as the days went on. Eventually they broke their gaze from each other, and Elodie looked up and noticed that across the room, the same boy from potions was staring at her once again.
"Okay, now it is just plain creepy," Elodie nudged Daphne, who was on the other side of Elodie. Her gaze snapped up to see what Elodie was talking about and rolled her eyes.
"Oh that twat. That's Harry Potter, hes-"
"That's Harry Potter?!" Elodie cut her off, "I thought he'd be taller," Elodie laughed, Daphne erupted with laughter as well.
Draco did not find it funny, however, and stood up before approaching the Gryffindor table.
"Got a problem, Potter?" Draco spat.
"No, Malfoy, I wasn't even looking at you," Harry replied, bored.
"Mind your business, Malfoy," The red headed boy next to him spat.
Elodie glanced to where Hermione sat, and she sat still and quiet, not seeming to want to involve herself.
"I don't care that you weren't staring at me, Potter, I don't appreciate you staring at my girl," Draco barked, causing Elodie to shake her head in disbelief. What the fuck did he just say, she thought. Daphne's jaw fell open, and she looked to Elodie, and then back to the scene unraveling in front of her.
"Didn't know you had ownership over human beings," Harry retorted.
"You know what the fuck I mean, Potter, stay away from her," Draco warned before walking away and back to his seat at the table next to her.
Elodie was speechless, why would he say that? Why would he call her his? They never discussed anything like this, how could he decide that for her? She was angry, but embarrassing him in front of the entire great hall seemed like a very bad idea. Most people flock to Draco, look to please him in whatever way they can. Elodie was not completely sure why people were afraid of him, but he knew there was a good reason, and figured it had something to do with how much power his father had. Adrian barely did more than insult Elodie, and Draco was ready to have his life ruined. Elodie did not want to be on the receiving end of his rage, so when Draco returned to his seat, Elodie rested her head on his shoulder and smiled up at him. An immediate expression of relief flooded his face, and Elodie almost believed that she saw him blush for a moment, but he quickly covered it with a smirk before kissing her forehead.
"Maybe we should go talk," he whispered in her ear, earning a nod from her.
The two stood to leave, and Elodie grabbed his hand and entwined her fingers with his, before allowing him to lead her from the room back to the common room. As soon as they were inside the empty common room, Elodie dropped her hand from his, put her hands on her hips and raised an eyebrow at him.
"Well are you going to explain yourself," Elodie said after a moment of complete and utter silence.
"I have no idea why those are the words that I chose to say. I don't know what came over me, and I have no excuse for it. Potter just makes me so angry, and the way he was looking at you made my skin crawl. I don't want any person to ever look at you like that," He ran his fingers through his hair, and Elodie could almost feel the stress and the tension in the air.
She was on edge, so unsure of how to even react. She looked to Draco, who looked like he was about ready to fall to his knees, still pushing his hair back repeatedly. She took his hand and pulled it away, then tucked back some of his hair herself.
"Listen to me carefully," She said, looking into his eyes, "I didn't want to embarrass you by denying you, but I don't want to lead you on either. I don't appreciate men that lay claim to women when women are not theirs to claim. We went on one date, and had a few drunk conversations. I'm still getting to know you, and I don't think I know you well enough yet. You are wonderful in my eyes so far, but this big claim is a huge step back. I am not ready to be your girl, because I don't know you well enough yet."
He looked down at his hands, looking ashamed in a way. He opened his mouth to speak, but then rushed to close it and looked away. She put her fingertips under his chin and lifted his gaze to her own. She brushed her knuckles along his strong cheek bone and smiled.
"I also am enjoying getting to know you, and I like the direction that I feel like we are headed in. You're kind to me Draco, and I feel as though that is rare for you. I stand by what I've just said, I don't appreciate the display in the great hall just now, but I have grown attached to you, and I find myself thinking of you very often. I don't know how that Harry Potter set you off, but you were very out of line."
"I'm ashamed of myself for giving you little options in this," Draco said while nodding then spoke again meekly, "I will do everything I can to make it up to you."
"I appreciate that," she smiled, sweetly, "I have a proposition, in regards to your grand display. We can, for all intensive purposes, be boyfriend and girlfriend, so long as you promise to continue to get to know me and allow me to actually get to know you."
His face lit up, and he smiled, pulling Elodie in for a hug. He lifted her off of the ground and spun her around. When her feet landed back on the ground she smiled and kissed him softly on the lips. He kissed her back, pulling her bottom lip between his teeth and running his fingers down her spine. She smiled before pulling away and raising her eyebrows.
"Well, one step closer to getting you out of this uniform and into my bed," He smirked.
She rolled her eyes and smacked him in the chest. Typical Draco, to be sweet one minute, and an arse the next.
A few weeks went by, and soon it was the day before Halloween. Elodie was having an easier time adjusting to life at Hogwarts than she thought she would. She ended up making the quidditch team, of course, as a chaser just like at Beauxbatons. She wrote home right away to tell her father, who wrote back to tell her he wasn't surprised but was just as proud of her as he was the day she made the team at Beauxbatons.
Classes were going well enough so far, she was actually ahead of the Hogwarts curriculum so she didn't have to do much studying, but was still getting great marks. Hermione was becoming a great friend to Elodie, and one of her only friends outside of Slytherin. The first few days after the mishap in the great hall were a little awkward. Neither girl wanted to bring it up, so they didn't, but it was clearly on the forefront of both of their minds.
As the days went on, they just pretended as though it never happened. They walked to most of their classes together, and sat next to each other in all but the classes they shared with Draco, because of course, he wanted to sit next to Elodie for those. Even in those, however, Elodie and Hermione sat close to each other to bounce ideas off of each other. Draco only expressed concern about the friendship one time, and it was brief.
"You know, she is always up Potter's arse," He said.
"She has never, not one single time, brought him up to me. She has talked about Ronald a handful of times, but it was just stupid 'my boyfriends a brat' shit," She replied, briefly.
"I just don't want her milking you for information about me and my affairs," He crossed his arms, shooting a dangerous look.
"She has barely even acknowledged the fact that we are together, let alone asked me about your affairs. Besides, even if she did, I wouldn't tell her about your affairs. None of it concerns her, just like Potter's affairs do not concern me."
Otherwise, he mostly ignored Hermione's existence whenever she was around. He even began to refrain from picking on her, and calling her "mudblood". He knew that Elodie's ideas about blood purity were not quite as extreme as his, and she opened his mind to being kinder to muggle borns and half bloods. Still, he believed them to be less powerful, and even still beneath him, and that was clear to everyone, but at least he wasn't calling them names anymore.
"There is a party in the room of requirement tonight," Daphne said, taking a bite from a biscuit.
"A Halloween party?" Elodie questioned, "Why the room of requirements?"
"The Weasley twins made it a thing," Pansy interrupted, "Every holiday has a big party for all the houses in the room of requirements. Every quidditch game too."
"Yeah, it was a move to ease tension between us and the Gryfindors after you know who was finally no longer an issue," Theo added, "It's honestly been working pretty well, there's not much of a house feud anymore, other than between Malfoy and Potter at least."
"I didn't even realize there ever was one," Elodie chuckled, "I guess it worked then."
"Did you want to go?" Daphne said to Elodie, "We're all going."
"I haven't got a costume," Elodie shrugged.
"Well, you don't need one," Pansy started, "But between Daphne, Astoria and I, we probably have ten extra you could choose from," she said laughing.
"We like options," Daphne smiled.
"Of course you do," Blaise rolled his eyes.
"Well what do you think?" Elodie asked, turning to Draco, "Should we go?"
"Are you asking me on a date, Brodeur?" Draco smirked.
"Nope, no I'm not. You're right, I should go stag," Elodie turned to Daphne, "Got any slutty get ups for me? I really would love to take a bloke up to our room tonight," She said, as seriously as she could.
Daphne and Pansy burst out laughing at Draco's disgruntled look.
A few hours later, the girls were finishing up getting ready for the party. Daphne wore a tight, short black dress, knee high black boots, and a black kimono that was shredded up to look frayed and damaged. It didn't seem like much of a costume to Elodie, but apparently she was a dementor. Pansy went with a "sexy nurse" uniform, which much like Daphne, was more or less just a tiny outfit with a St. Mungos badge in the middle of her breasts. Astoria took a page from the muggle handbook, and wore a tiny outfit, paired with cheetah print ears, and was just a cat. Elodie and Draco talked about it briefly, and it took almost no convincing to talk him into doing a couples costume with her.
"That is muggle shit, Elodie, I don't even know the story," Draco rolled his eyes.
"Right, but it's weird that you don't! It's an English story technically, not necessarily muggle, you should know it. Everyone in Beauxbatons knew it, that's not fair," She pouted, "Besides, we're a public couple now, there is no reason we shouldn't do it."
"Couldn't you have picked a magical story, Elodie, I mean I don't know the story."
"It's a boy and a girl that fall in love at first sight, the only problem is, their families are at war. They are given hell by their families and decide to run away together, to be in peace together, so they try to fake their deaths, but end up committing suicide, because the boy is fooled into thinking the girl is truly dead and he decides he can't live without her. When she wakes, she finds him dead, and decides she cannot live without him either, so she kills herself too."
"Sounds awful," Draco rolls his eyes, "But if it means that much to you, alright. What do I wear?"
Elodie found a beautiful floor length white gown, with white strappy pumps and pulled her long dark hair back into a half up half down look, cascading down her back in curls. The real piece of the costume that pulled it all together was the large white wings, that shimmered as the sparkles on them hit the light of the room. They were a little extravagant, but they were perfect for the look.
The girls walked down the stairs from their dorm to the common room where their dates waited for them. Astoria took the arm of Theo, who was dressed as a gladiator, Pansy took the arm of Blaise, who was dressed like a 1960's greaser of some sort with a leather jacket and slicked back hair, Daphne was apparently meeting a Ravenclaw boy outside of the common room. Then she saw him, and he looked flawless. His hair was messy, hanging in his face, black pants, chainmail top, armor on his shoulders and chest, and a sword strapped to his hip. She smiled wide as their eyes met, and practically ran to his side, careful not to trip over her gown.
"Oh Draco, I barely even gave you instructions on what to wear, you even got the hair right!" Elodie exclaimed, "How did you figure it out?"
"I had some help from a mudblood," He laughed at her scowl, "I mean muggleborn."
"What are you guys anyway?" Blaise raised an eyebrow, "I mean, you look like the strangest knight I've ever seen."
"Romeo and Juliet," Draco laughed, "Apparently there's a modern adaptation in muggle cinema, which came out a few years ago. This one is bonkers for it," he motioned to Elodie.
"Don't tell my father, he'd flip his lid," She wagged her finger in the direction of their friends.
"So this Romeo dresses as a half knight?" Astoria motioned to Dracos pants, looking confused.
"It takes place at a costume party in the modern adaptation. He isn't actually a knight, just wearing a costume. You guys have to watch it, it is amazing," Elodie beamed before turning to Draco once more, "This just suits you so well, you look good enough to eat."
"I'll give you something-" Draco started before Elodie grabbed his arm and took off running out of the common room and down the hallway toward the room of requirement, the rest of their friends in tow.
Once inside, Elodie looked around and saw a replica of the great hall, the only difference being there were no tables, rather a few couches scattered around the room, and there was a long bar on the side of the room, being tended by someone she recognized as a Hufflepuff, but wasn't sure of his name. Everyone in their year, and Astoria's year was there, and almost every single person in the hall was dressed up as something. Lots of people looked as the group walked in, and many looked shocked to see how Draco was dressed. Elodie figured the people giving them strange looks were probably people that had seen the movie and knew it was a muggle movie.
After getting drinks for everyone, the group plopped down on some of the couches to get a buzz going. A few drinks later Elodie and Draco were the only ones left on the couch, everyone else went off to the dance floor and were dancing with their dates.
"Do you want to dance, love?" Draco asked Elodie, who was watching the others in admiration.
"Not yet, I'm having a bit of fun watching for now," She giggled, feeling the effects of the alcohol settling in.
"It is pretty entertaining, but you owe me the next dance," Draco laughed with her.
"Okay, okay," She said, pulling herself up off the couch and grabbed his hands, "Let's go dance."
They danced together for a while, before heading back to the bar for one last round before heading in. Draco ordered an old-fashioned for himself, and a glass of pinot noir for Elodie. She smiled, accepting her favorite glass of red from him and sipping it casually.
"You know, these last few weeks have been surprisingly wonderful," Elodie said, smiling at Draco, "I feel like I'm actually getting to know the real you, it's quite nice," He smiled back at her, looking at her in awe before she continued, "You've still never told me though, why me? I mean you've never invited a girl on a date before, and you have just thrown your entire being into pleasing me for some reason, and I just don't understand why."
"Well, if I'm being honest, Elodie," He paused, taking a sip of his drink, "I've never met someone that was worth the effort before. What can I say? You bewitched me, the second you walked into Parkinson's tea garden."
Draco took the glass of wine from her hand, and replaced it with his own hand, setting both of their half finished drinks on the bar top. He led them out of the room and into the head boy and girl tower.
"Are we going to your room?" Elodie said nervously.
"Yes," He said stopping dead in his tracks and pushing her back up against the wall and kissing her, "And before you protest, I have a gift for you," He mumbled, kissing from her ear down along her neck.
"What for?" She beamed and let him continue to lead her the rest of the way.
He didn't speak again until they reached the common room that separated the head boy and girls living spaces. Elodie looked around and noticed the room was very specifically designed to suit Draco and Hermione in their own separate ways. There were two recliner chairs that sat close to the fireplace to the side of the room, and straight ahead was a large bookcase that covered the entire back wall of the room. The two bookworms could very clearly be happy in a room like this, even if they never spoke to each other once. There were green and silver decorations on the right side of the room, and red and gold on the left. It was clear which side belonged to which student. Both sides were neat and tidy, not a single fiber out of place in the entire room, other than two books that rested one on each chair. These two would obviously make great friends if there hadn't been years of animosity between them, that much was clear.
"So Granger is still at the party, we have plenty of time to ourselves here, should you choose to take off that dress and let me see what is underneath," he said, raising his eyebrows.
Elodie laughed, and plopped down in the chair by the fire that was clearly Hermione's. She gazed at the fire, feeling the warmness of the flames take over her entire body. Kicking off her heels and her wings, she laid back in the chair, draping her legs over the arm and looked up at Draco, smiling. He stared back at her, admiration filling his gaze, and reached out and ran his fingers up from her ankle to her knee, before circling around and going back down.
"My gift, sir," Elodie smiled up at him, "I hate anticipation, Draco."
"Right, of course," He smiled pulling a small rectangular box out of his pocket and presenting it to her, "There you are, mon amour."
She smiled wide and pulled at the silver wrapping paper until a small, black, velvet box was all that remained. She opened it slowly, and inside was a very extravagant diamond and silver tennis bracelet, that twinkled and shined in the light. She was in awe at the beauty of it, but she shook her head and closed the box, handing it back to him.
"I can not accept this," She said, frowning slightly, "It's beautiful Draco, but it is too much. You can not buy my love, and this feels like your second attempt at doing so. I mean, how much did this cost? A thousand galleons?"
"No," he shook his head and pushed the box back in her direction, "That is not what this is. This is a family heirloom, I spent nothing on it. I only wanted you to have it because I knew it would be perfect for you."
"Oh, Draco," her frown lessened, and she opened the box again to admire the shine, "A family heirloom seems extravagant too. I just don't want to rush this to that place. These last few weeks, you have become my greatest friend. I enjoy your touch, and your kiss, don't get me wrong, but I told you-"
"You know what, I thought we were getting somewhere, but I guess I was wrong," He said defensively, letting the prat she knew he could be come out, "I guess you're just teasing me after all then, yeah? You know, I did all of this for you," He gestured to his costume, "I wanted tonight to be special, I wanted to make you officially mine tonight, but I guess I was misguided."
"Excuse me," She said, standing up and putting her hands on her hips, "Buying me things, and dressing up together on Halloween does not mean I owe you a damn thing," She snapped back.
"Yeah well, groping me and attacking my mouth on a daily basis would lead me to believe we were here but again, I was misled," He snarled through gritted teeth, "Why don't you just go then."
"I think I will," She snapped, shoving the black box back into his hands, "Goodbye, Draco."
