Moonpriestess30: One more to go though I have started a new one while continuing to update the other two that I have on the go.

Eiris: Yes, she's 26. And yeah, he can be sweet in his own way.

Chapter 15 – In the end

Evelyn looked at him with a trembling lip before falling into his embrace. Fenris wrapped his arms around her softly and strokes her hair as she holds onto his top. 'I'm so sorry for everything. I just don't understand how you've forgiven me for hurting you,' she cries into his clothing. After about ten minutes she sniffs a little and sighs heavily. 'Say something, please.'

'You are not the only one who can be a mute,' he says in a little tease making her snort and look up at him. 'Evelyn, it was never a question of forgiveness. I understand why what happened, happened. You need to forgive yourself for what you were made to do.' He looks down at her and brushes her fringe out her eyes. 'Stay here with me. If it makes you more comfortable you can keep the bedroom for your things. Let us face facts, you are here most the time anyway. You clean, cook food and insist on repairing the place,' he smiles softly.

'The place needs repairing,' she pouts at him.

'My point being, I would like you to stay,' Fenris gives her a look. Evelyn bites her lip and nods, moving back against his body, hugging him. Her heart beat heavily in her chest, this was a new feeling, almost elation.

'Are you sure?' Evelyn whispers feeling his tunic under her fingers as she gripped tightly.

Fenris nods, not needing to say anything more in this moment. He could smell the soap that she had washed with lingering on her skin and for the time being they were comfortable simply taking solace in each other's embrace. Without saying anything more they move over to the bed and clamber in. Evelyn leans over and blows out the candles on the bedside table and returns back to the pillows. Fenris wraps his arm around her waist and she rests her head on the other that was under her head and across her shoulders. Their breathing begins to settle and becomes rhythmic as they begin to relax.

Evelyn begins to trace the tattoos that wind over his collarbone, the light from the fire providing enough to see by. 'Thank you,' she whispers as her nails gently caress his skin. He chuckles lightly taking her hand, 'sorry, was that annoying you?'

'Tickling,' he admits as he wears a half smile. Evelyn giggles a little and nuzzles the side of his neck, she had no idea what was going on between them but at this moment, this was enough. 'Evelyn?' Fenris says quietly. She looks up at him wondering what he wants. Her breathing stops as she feels his breath against her skin as he pulls her closer.

Becoming lost in his green eyes, she smiles shyly. Fenris was staring at her intently and her pulse rocketed with the intensity of his gaze. His fingers entwine around hers and he leans down kissing her neck gently. Evelyn feels her heartbeat skip and a heat in her navel erupts, her fingers tighten around his not wanting to let him go. She could tell that he was moving slowly in case she wanted him to stop. She can feel him taking his time to kiss her skin, the slight dampness against her neck as he moved further up, a chill reminder that with each one he sent skitters across her being. His teeth caught the lobe of her ear causing a light moan to escape and spur him on more. Her body presses against his, her hand reaching up and winding through his hair, raking her nails over his scalp. Moving across her jaw Fenris catches her lips with his, crushing them under a deep kiss. Evelyn's chest rose heavily as she breathes, desire blossoming throughout her body.

It hadn't ever felt like this before and she wanted to relish in every moment. Stifled by his presence she reciprocates his need and indulges in her carnal wants. The mental wounds caused by her master began to heal, the scar tissue deep but strong. Feeling his body against hers, the warmth between them, scents that clung to their skin and sounds of each other's pleasure filling the room. Fenris' breathing was just as heavy as hers, his strong hands gripping her body, fingers digging into her skin. Neither of them knew how long had passed before they lie in each other's arms, bodies pulsing with sated and languid muscles.

Eve could barely think straight, her arm draped over his shoulder, hand playing with his hair as he held her close. His breathing sent goosebumps over her chest with the slightly cooled air, the echoes of his voice fresh in her mind. She could feel his fingers drawing circles on the base of her spine, sending skitters across her skin. Evelyn giggles lightly making him raise his head. 'Tickling,' she whispers making him smile. Fenris chuckles and kisses her softly, his teeth gently catching her lip making her inhale sharply. 'That's not fair,' she says through the kiss. Even though they had moments before allowed their desire for each other take over she felt the new feeling of heat bloom in her navel. 'It's never been like that before,' Evelyn admits looking away from him as she breaks the kiss. Her mouth spoke before her mind realised what she was actually saying.

He wears a half smile, bitterness around the edges as he lifts his hand and tilts her head to look at him. 'It was better than I could have ever dreamed,' Fenris reveals making her cheeks flush a deep red. Tightening his grip around her waist he pulls her as body as close to his as he can, closing the gap between them. Her skin had cooled from the exertion and he felt the chill as her stomach and thighs press against his.

Evelyn doesn't know what to say in reply, but the expression of shyness and happiness on her features said it all. Fenris' brands weren't happy about the prolonged contact but he ignored them for the time being, all he wanted was to feel her lips against his. He ran his hand down her back and held her close as they simply revelled in each other's heat. Evelyn stretches and he can hear the click in her shoulder as she lifts her arm. 'I should probably go wash,' she smiles, her tone shy.

'What makes you think that I have finished with you?' He murmurs as his eyes meet hers. Evelyn smiles, biting her tongue lightly as she tries to hide her pleasure at his words.

'Oh Maker, what have I gotten myself into now?' She teases lightly making him smirk. They lean forward to embrace when Eve hears frantic banging at the door. She raises a brow as they move away from each other. 'What's going on?' She whispers, her fingers digging into his shoulders in fear.

Fenris shakes his head and sits up a little, 'I do not know-' he pauses as he hears barking. 'That is Hawke's Mabari,' he reassures and then swears heavily, this wasn't exactly great timing. 'There must be something wrong,' Fenris says begrudgingly, it wasn't like Hawke to come to him in the middle of the night, not while making this much racket.

'Have a wash and get dressed,' Evelyn said as she reached down and grabs her nightgown, yanking it over her head. Her hair had been pulled free from it's braid and so she combed through with her fingers so it didn't look so noticeably disturbed. 'I'll let them in and buy you some time,' she says softly as she stands.

He reaches out and catches her fingers, 'we do not have to answer,' Fenris reminds her, selfishly. He didn't want what was going on between them to end like this. Who knew what the morning and sensible thought would bring.

Evelyn sits back down and smiles at him softly. 'You'll go help him, you know you will. What if it is someone else like me who needs your strength?' Eve whispers as she strokes his jaw. The hammering at the door became heavier and she swears. 'Get dressed, Fenris,' Eve said kissing him briefly before running towards the bedroom door. Mentally she screams at the Champion for disturbing them but it couldn't be helped. Getting to the front door she catches her reflection in the mirror, flustered but understandably so, what with running down the stairs. In a fraction of a second she noticed a red mark on her neck under her ear so she dragged her hair around that shoulder to cover it before opening the door.

'Oh, Evee, sorry sweetness, I know it's late,' Hawke says apologetically. 'Where's Fenris-? Peanut, hush, please,' he says to the Mabari who sits at his feet obediently and stops barking. 'I really need him, I've got myself into a right nug shit.'

'He's just putting his armour on, he pretty much assumed you were going to need him,' she says stepping aside and letting him in. 'Is everything okay?' Thankfully her voice was calm and after she cleared her throat she managed to remove some of the slight roughness that had been lingering.

'Got some bad feeling about this mage we're supposed to meet in the Alienage, he's after his wife. I've got about half an hour before I've got to get there and I just know it's going to be shit. Aveline got called to a disturbance and so it's just me, Sebastian and Varric and so I need his sword arm,' he explains.

Evee winces and nods hoping that Fenris doesn't take too much longer, she doubted that he would, he was efficient if anything. Thankfully a couple of moments later Fenris walks down the stairs fully dressed and with his weapon. Evelyn winces, his hair looked pretty scruffy and there was a rather unimpressed look on his features. 'You had better be dying,' he says dryly as he adjusts his gauntlet.

Hawke grins and crosses his arms, 'awww, were you asleep?' He chuckles looking at the elf's hair. 'He does get awfully grumpy when he's disturbed with you, hmm?' Garrett teases looking at Evelyn who bites her lip to stop herself from smiling and brushes her hair over her shoulder to make sure the mark is definitely hidden.

'Hawke,' Fenris interrupts bluntly.

'Oh, right,' he says clicking his fingers. 'Possible blood mage in the Alienage, Aveline had to bail, I've just got a group of squishies, I need you to be there to save me,' he breaks down quickly.

Fenris sighs and rubs his eyes, 'very well, let us not waste any time,' he replies.

Hawke grins and claps his hands happily and grabs the elf. 'Ha! Yes! You're the best,' he says in relief. 'Evee, sweetness, sorry to steal him, I'll have him back by morning don't worry,' he teases.

Fenris rolls his eyes and shrugs Garrett's hands from his shoulders, 'enough,' he said simply. The Champion begins to walk towards the door with his Mabari at his heel and Fenris turns to Evelyn, his voice low. 'Lock the door behind me, I will be back as soon as possible,' he says quietly.

'I'll be fine,' she reassures with a nod, holding her arms around herself. He sighs, it wasn't exactly how he planned their night to end. Having to leave so quickly after what happened between them was bitter. 'It's okay, honestly. I'll see you when you get back.' He wants to linger to say goodbye but he hears Hawke calling for him, with a scowl he backs up and walks towards the front door. Evelyn waves lightly as the door shuts behind him, it was a full minute after he had gone that she sighs heavily. The house felt cold and silent now that he was gone and slowly she walks up the stairs. Climbing back into the bed she pulled the quilt up over herself, she could still smell his presence on the fabric. They had taken their time while together though the situation had escalated fairly quickly. Now that she was alone she felt her anxiety to rise and in a bid to feel better she decided to get some sleep and hoped that he would be back soon.

It was just after dawn when Fenris walks into the mansion, weary and tired. There was birdsong from the open windows and he tilts his head as he walks up the stairs, he was sure that he had closed all the windows the night before. Panic hits him and he runs up the stairs and into the bedroom, the bed was empty. 'Where...?' Fenris says to himself before turning on his heel and making his way back into the foyer.

Instantly he felt his heart calm down as the light lilt of song hit his ears. Following the sound he found Evelyn in the kitchen, an apron around her waist as she closes the back door a bowl of herbs in her other hand. The smell of baking bread wove around him as he took off his weapon silently, not wanting to disturb her. He watches as she puts the bowl down and uncovers another, larger one that had a dough rising inside. Her long hair was tied up into a messy bun and there was a smudge of flour across her cheek. Fenris couldn't help himself as he walks up behind her and slides his hands around her waist, leaning his head on her shoulder. 'Good morning,' she says softly with a smile.

'Why are you not in bed?' He asks watching as she kneads the dough. Fenris can smell the herbs on her fingers and couldn't help but wear an amused grin at the way she pulled the dough that stuck to her fingers.

'Couldn't sleep,' she admits. Pausing Evelyn looks at him, a small smile on her lips. 'Want to talk about last night?'

Fenris shakes his head, 'there is no need. Unless there is something you are worried about,' he adds as she turns in his arms to face him. His eyes dart over the mark under her ear and he feels a little smugness root in his chest.

'Not a worry per say,' Evelyn says quietly, 'just... what now?'

He presses his forehead against hers, 'what would you like to do?' Fenris had time to think about what had happened the previous night, he had decided not to dwell on it. He enjoyed her company and that was more than enough for the time being.

She laughs and wears a sweet smile, 'well, I think the best way to go ahead is just say... whatever comes, comes,' Evelyn giggles. 'Together.'

Fenris nods, 'I like that. Whatever comes, comes. Together.'
