Aaron is working on a pile of paperwork when he hears a small nock on his door frame he looks up and sees Emily standing in his door frame. "I need you to be straight with me arresting Governor Royce please tell me that was your idea."
"I wish I could take the credit for that but that was all Kirkman. Honestly, I didn't think he had it in him."
Emily took a deep breath closing her eyes. "Still got that bottle?" Emily sat down on in the chair across from him
"Yeah."
"He's turning into a different person. I mean unless I didn't really know him before. " Aaron grabbed a bottle of whiskey and putting it on his desk.
"Look Emily this isn't HUD anymore. Your boss is the most powerful man in the world. And he is going to do things that you might not agree with and you need to be ready for that. Because that's your job. Which if I haven't said before you happen to be pretty damn good at." Emily looked up with a small smile.
"Sorry I didn't realize you were capable of giving compliments." emily said turning her head. Aaron let out a small laugh.
"And to think I was worried about you." Emily started to laugh shifting her body in the chair.
"You were I knew it." Aaron noticed what he said and had to do some damage control.
"Not that worried just mildly concerned that's all" Emily gave a small smile
"Mhmm shut up and pour me a drink" Aaron laughed before grabbing a cup. He knew after that working with Emily was going to be harder then he thought. He handed her the drink. "thanks. So im glad that the white house didn't fall apart while as was gone." Emily said taking a sip from the glass.
"Barly the president was scared about you being in Michigan." Emily nodded at the comment. She thought Aaron was cute but she had a strict rule of not mixing business with pleasure. she just kinda put that away in the back of her mind. As she finished her drink she got a ding on her phone.
"The president needs me." she put the glass back on the desk and stood up. "Thanks for the drink."
"No problem," Aaron said taking the glass and putting it back. Emily turned around and walked out of his office. The truth was it was just a text from her mom but she knew if she stayed there she would do something she regretted. Not that she would regret doing anything with Aaron but she made sure she had to make sure she didn't break her rules.
