After Aaron left the white house Emily started to think. Stated getting mad at Aaron. How could he just leave me here? He was the one who told me he needed me here less than a week ago and know he is just to leave. without thinking about Emily was Aarons's apartment after work. She really didn't know how she ended up there but she did. She knocked on Aarons door and looked at her phone it was 1 in the morning was he really going to be awake. She turned around to go back to her car when she heard the door open." Emily. What are you doing here?" Emily turned around and saw Aaron standing there. He was wearing a Georgetown hoodie and a pair of black sweatpants. His hair was in its natural curly form. He looked better like this then he did at work and he always looked good at work.
Emily looked down at her feet in embarrassment. "I needed to talk to you uh now is not a good time obviously I can come back." Emily turned around but felt Aarons's hand grab her arm.
"Em im already awake and im not going to be able to fall asleep until you tell me so you might as well tell me. So why dont you just come inside and talk to me." Emily turned around and walked inside of his apartment. Trying not to make eye contact. "So whats up Emily."
"I guess I just want to know why," Emily said turning toward Aaron closing his door.
"Why I left?" Emily nodded looking down at her feet trying to hide the tears forming in her eyes. "well I did what is best for the president." Aaron said walking towered Emily.
"But you were the one who just last week told me that the president needed me there. That you needed me there. And then you just walk out on me Aaron how do you know I dont need you there!" Emily said raising her voice.
"Emily is this what this is about that I left. Em if I didn't think you could do this job I would not have left." Emily shook her head.
"It's not that I cant do the job, Aaron. It is that you talked me out of leaving cause you needed me there. That is why I stayed and then you just walk out on me like its nothing how is that fair!" Emily said still yelling.
"Emily a lot has changed in the last week. What in the last week that you have done would make me think you needed me there. You blocked me out, Emily!" Aaron said starting to raise his voice too.
"You what this was a mistake you are too stubborn to think that anybody cares about you or needs you in their lives so im just going to go home." Emily grabbed her purse off his couch and walked toward the door. Aaron grabbed her arm as she was about to pass him.
"Em I really did it cause I thought I was doing the right thing," Aaron said looking at her calming his voice down.
"Yeah well, you didn't." Emily said pulling her arm out of Aarons's hand." goodnight Aaron" Emily said closing the door. When she got back to her car all she could do was cry. She got back to her place. She got out of her outfit and put on an old navy hoodie and a pair of running shorts. She poured her self a big glass of wine and sat on the couch. She turned on the tv and sat back. After about 30 minutes of sitting there, she heard a knock on the door. She put her wine on the coffee table and walked toward the door. She looked through the door and saw Aaron. He looked like he had been crying. She opened the door and without even waiting for the invasion he walked into her apartment. Before she could even say what the hell Aaron cuts her off. " you asked me why I left. Why I didn't think that you needed me there. And honestly, I did. But you dont need me there Emily. You are perfect you do even thing perfect. Me, on the other hand, I do need you there because I fuck up a lot Emily and somehow you are always there to clean up my mess. But I know you can do this by yourself, Emily."
"Aaron im not perfect. We both have things that the other person doesn't. That's what makes us such a great team. Yeah, I can clean up your messes when you scream at some senator or an ambassador. But I dont know politics like you do I cant make sure that the president is good in the polls because we all know he doesn't care about the polls but he has too and I dont know how to do that stuff Aaron you do and you just left me there." Aaron let out a small sigh before sitting on the couch.
"em, im sorry I never really thought about how we are a team. Im sorry, I really am but I know you can do it." Emily looked down at her feet. Aaron taped the couch next to him telling Emily to sit down next to him. "Em, I really am sorry that you feel like im leaving you but im not. Im always going to be here for you even if im not in the white house." Emily rested her head on his shoulder.
"As long as you will always be here if I need help with the politics" Aaron looked down at emilys head resting on his shoulder. He planted a small kiss on her face.
"Always Emily, always."
