Hey guys it has been a long time for this story but I decided to start another chapter. This is loosely based on the episode where emilys dad shows up but the only thing that is really the same is that her dad is there nothing else really except some dialog but I am obviously putting the correct couple together, xoxo

"Emily." she heard from outside her door lifting her from her trans. She looked up and saw Aaron standing in her doorway "You ok I called your name like 5 times" Aarons said walking in leaning his hands on the chair across from emilys desk.

"Yeah yeah I'm fine just haven't been sleeping great," Emily said with a tight-lipped smile.

"You gonna stick with that or.," Aaron said sitting down in the chair across from her. She took a deep breath.

"My dad is in town," she said looking at her hands

"You never mentioned him," Aaron said slightly confused. They told each other most of the stuff about their lives since they worked so closely together they always had small talk.

"That is because he left my mother and me… twenty-three years ago." Emily said finally looking up at Aaron.

"Im sorry I didn't know, what are you gonna do," Aaron asked leaning back in his chair.

"I told him I can't meet him one work is super bust today and two I have no interest in seeing him." Emily said shaking her head grabbing a file

"Well, im here if you want to talk me," Aaron said offering her a small smile.

"Thanks," Emily said returning the smile before Aaron walked out of emilys office. He didn't see her the rest of the day he was walking through the west wing when he saw an older mad looking around an everybody walking around him. "

Hi came I help you," Aaron asked walking up to him.

"Yes please I am looking for Emily Rhodes office." the man said.

"May I ask who you are," Aaron asked putting his phone in his pocket.

"I'm her father she said she was really busy at work so she couldn't do lunch so I thought I would stop by and say hi," the man saying causing Aaron to glare up at him.

"Why dont you come with me," Aaron said leading the man to his office closing the door leaving a small crack open behind him.

"So this is my daughter's office." the man said looking around.

"No this is actually mine. And you use that word daughter very loosely seeing how you haven't seen her in 23 years." Aaron said turning toward the man.

"I'm sorry." the man said slightly offended.

"You heard me you show up here after 23 years right after Emily becomes chef of staff that seems a little coincidental dont you think," Aaron said his voice slightly rising.

"I dont think you understand the whole story." the man said raising his hand in defense.

"No, what I dont understand is why you would leave. Your daughter. You know what im not even gonna call her that. Emily is an amazing woman. She is one of if not the smartest person I have ever met. She is funny, kind, not to mention beautiful. And why anyone would want to leave her life I will never understand." Aaron said walking toward her father. "Emily actually isn't that busy she just has no interest in meeting you so." Aaron walked over to his door opening it. "Robbie here is gonna bring you back to your car for you," Aaron said grabbing one of the secretary guards into his.

"Im glad my daughter has you to watch out for her." her dad said.

"Me too because you sure as hell weren't," Aaron said before he walked out of his office. What he didn't know was Emily was going to drop off some files for Aaron when she heard him talking to some guy when she heard "you use the daughter word very loosely seeing how you haven't seen her in 23 years" she didn't expect her father to show up to the White House. She thought she should walk away but couldn't make her feet move she heard Aaron talk to her dad sticking up for her. She couldn't help but blush when she heard him call her beautiful. She heard the footsteps coming towards the door so she quickly turned the corner to make sure he didn't see her. She went on the rest of the day they didn't run into each other for the rest of the day. Emily was leaning on the railing on one of the balconies outside the White House when she felt a thick fabric come in contact with her shoulders she looked over her shoulder and saw Aaron standing to the side of her.

"Thank you," she said simply before looking back out a Washington

"You don't have to thank me I could see the goosebumps your shoulders," Aaron said chuckling

"No not for that. I heard you earlier with my dad" she said looking down at her hands "thank you " Emily said looking up at Aaron.

" like I said you don't have to thank me. Everything I said was true he is an idiot for leaving you. You add light to everybody's life you touch."Aaron said leaning against the railing Emily gave him a small smile biting her bottom lip before looking back at Aaron. His eyes fell down to her lips before she stepped up on her tiptoes slightly pressing her lips age at his. He brought his hand up to rest on her cheek before she pulled away. Aaron rested his forehead on hers. " I am pretty sure the Elvis impersonator is at the 9:30 club every Friday you wanna go," Aaron said chucking. Emily simply nodded before pulling away walking back towers inside. Aaron places his hand on her back.

" I still don't get why Seth told you how I liked Elvis," she said laughing

" because he wants us together more than anyone," Aaron said chucking
