Chapter 6: Power of Light Vs. Dark

(Scuttle Town)

What was usually a peaceful day was suddenly ruined with this dark demon from Hell destroying the place. As most of the citizens were fleeing, Sky and Bolo were trying to fend of Lucifer. However, their attacks weren't doing much good.

Bolo- Damn it! Every time we throw an attack at him, he blocks with that shield of his!

Sky- I know! How can we fight this guy if we can't hit him?

Lucifer- You've managed to amuse me more than I expected you two would, but this is starting to get boring. I'll try to make this quick as I can.

But before Lucifer could attack Bolo or Sky, a fireball was launched at him from behind. His barrier blocked it, but Lucifer turned around after he noticed it.

Lucifer- I had a feeling if I made enough noise in Scuttle Town, you'd show yourself again. After all, I knew your mother was Scuttle Town's Guardian Genie before you.

Standing behind Lucifer was Shantae and Pit (who was back in his angel form).

Shantae- Sky, Bolo, get out of here! Pit and I got this!

Sky and Bolo managed to get up and flee the area.

Lucifer- Don't matter. It's the two of you I want anyway. Azra and Icarus might not be here anymore, but the connection between those two and you will make taking you out the next best thing.

Pit- What does he mean by connection?

Palutena (telepathically to Pit)- Uh…he's probably referring to fact they were part of the original team Marco Mario formed and that you and Shantae are part of the current team!

Shantae- It's time for you to go back home!

Lucifer- I think not. I like it here. And it's not like you can get passed my defenses.

Then Shantae pulls out the Devil's Red Trident.

Lucifer- A trident…hold on! Why does it look familiar?

Before Lucifer could remember why it seemed familiar to him, Shantae swung the trident and Lucifer's dark energy barrier shattered like glass. Shantae also managed to cut Lucifer in his shoulder.

Lucifer- I see it now…that's my father's trident. Didn't think my pops would willingly lend his personal favorite weapon like that.

Lucifer fired an energy blast from his palm, but Shantae backflipped to dodge it. But then Pit pulled out his Palutena's Bow and fired a light arrow the struck Lucifer's open wound on his shoulder.

Lucifer- Damn it!

Pit- Hang on…the light arrow got through…

As Lucifer pulled the light arrow out of his shoulder, a bullet from Risky Boots' pistol hit Lucifer in the left ankle and made him kneel a bit.

Lucifer- That pirate lady is still with them…?

Pit- Hey Lady Palutena, I can understand Satan's trident, but how come his barrier didn't stop my arrow or Risky's pistol?

Palutena (telepathically to Pit)- It's because it needs time to reform after it was shattered. Now your attacks can get through.

Viridi (telepathically to Pit)- And another thing to note, that barrier he puts up to stop attacks coming his way actually makes him appear stronger than he actually is. Without that shield to protect him like that, Lucifer is hardly anything compared to Medusa, Hades, or Satan. Now you can really let him have it, Pit!

Pit- That's good to know!

Risky Boots- Agreed!

Lucifer- I'll admit, I did spend more time preparing my defenses, but I am far from being defenseless without my dark shield to block any attacks coming my way. But you'd be nothing to me without my father's trident!

Then Lucifer's left arm turned into a black octopus tentacle and lashed out at Shantae. It grabbed Shantae and made her drop the Devil's Red Trident.

Lucifer- Not so tough now, are you?

Pit and Risky Boots rushed for the Devils Red Trident to pick it back up, but Lucifer turned his other arm into a black tentacle too and grabbed Risky Boots.

Pit- What the…

Lucifer- I wouldn't make any sudden moves, little angel. Unless you want the genie and the pirate to lose their pretty little heads.

Pit- Lady Palutena, Viridi, any ideas before he hurts them?

Palutena (telepathically to Viridi)- I think we might be able to give Pit a small opening if we combine out powers.

Viridi (telepathically to Palutena)- Alright, but you and Pit owe me one!

Palutena and Viridi (telepathically to Lucifer and at the same time)- Power of Darkness!

Suddenly, Lucifer's eyes became darker than they already are.

Lucifer- Hey! What's going on?! I can't see!

Viridi (telepathically to Pit)- Now hurry, Pit!

Pit- You got it!

Then Pit rushed over and grabbed the Devil's Red Trident. Then Pit placed the trident like an arrow on his bow and aimed at Lucifer. The blinding spell wore off on Lucifer just in time to see Pit shoot the Devil's Red Trident through his chest, also making him let go of both Shantae and Risky Boots. However, they were both covered in some sticky black substance from their neck to their ankles. After Lucifer's body hit the ground, Satan somehow appeared standing directly above Lucifer.

Pit- Satan?

Satan- Don't mind me, Pitty. I'm only here to take back what's mine. My son Lucifer…

Satan then pulls the Devil's Red Trident out of Lucifer's chest.

Satan- And my prized trident. Our deal is complete and your genie friend can keep her soul for now. But if you'll excuse me, I have to teach Lucifer here a lesson about leaving home without my consent! HAHAHAHAHA!

Then Satan and Lucifer are consumed by a large flame and vanish once the flames faded.

Risky Boots- Now that that's over…I'm getting out of here. I need a shower to get this black goop off of me and I want to forget you two dragging me through literal Hell!

After Risky Boots left, Pit and Shantae looked at each other in confusion.

(Later at Mimic's workshop)

Mimic was helping Shantae clean herself off after getting covered in that black substance.

Mimic- What the hell is this stuff?! It eats at my tools like it was acid! I'm afraid you'll need a new outfit, Shantae. At least it doesn't have any effect on your skin.

Then Pit walked into the workshop.

Shantae- Pit, is Scuttle Town finished being repaired so quickly?

Pit- Yep. Lady Palutena and Viridi made everything as good as new in the blink of an eye. Literally…

Shantae- Think they can get this stuff off me?

Viridi (telepathically to Shantae)- Way ahead of you, Shantae!

Then Viridi snapped her fingers and all the black substance was removed from her skin, but not her clothes.

Viridi (telepathically to Shantae)- Sorry, couldn't save that dancer outfit. But at least the Tropical Night will be happy this his mama can still hug him.

The End

Epilogue-

(Unknown area)

A genie who looked very similar to Shantae was actually watching Shantae and Pit through some kind of rift.

Azra- Shantae, my little girl…you really have made your mother proud of you. And I see you and Icarus' replacement handled that little disaster well. And don't worry, because I'm always watching over you.

Then Azra puts a worried look on her face.

Azra- I know you're already helping Marco's decedent fight Tabuu like I did when I joined Marco's team. But there is another foe I've faced that I hope you'll never have to encounter. That God of Insanity…that damn jester almost killed me and Marco when he attacked Sequin Land and I hope he never returns, because mommy doesn't want see you go through that same madness me and my friends went through when that lunatic attacked me.
