While Quinn got changed for the therapy section, Rachel took the time to call her fathers and tell them that her friend was going to be spending the next couple of weeks at the house at most. It took some convincing but ultimately, she had to tell the truth to get them to agree. That she saw the look and what she had heard. She told them of her suspicions and that she knew the girls mother was busy with work leaving a lot of time for Quinn to be alone where anything could happen to her. So it took a lot of convincing to keep them from calling the girls mother. She promised if it started to get out of hand then she would let them call. After everything that happened the summer of sophomore year she knew how protective they could be. If only they knew the whole story then they would never let her out of their sight again. As she was hanging up she spotted Quinn and the assistant Tammy coming from the locker room.
"Hey, Rachel. I didn't know you were coming in today." Tammy beamed at her brightly. Tammy is tall and lean. She has soft brown hair that curls naturally. With an athletic build and model like features it was almost a sin for her to wear those athletic shorts and fitted polo every day. She has been flirting with Rachel since the day she started volunteering. Once you get to know Tammy then you find the flirts with everyone and that its just a part of her personality. She actually has girlfriend that she plans on proposing to and has been getting Rachel to help her come up with the perfect plan.
"I wasn't planning on it but I changed my mind. I talked to John and he said I could help you with Quinn's therapy if both of you agree. I have her list of exercises here." Waving the paper for infuses and a slight hip wiggle out of excitement.
"Come on short cake and help me set up. Quinn already asked if you were going to help. Hey, put on that playlist you were listening to last time. But skip the Broadway songs!" Tammy request sending a wink at Rachel.
Sighing, "Quinn could you play my Homework playlist? The code is 0306."
Grabbing the phone and opening the playlist the blond plays the first non Broadway song she can find. After everything is set Rachel gets her phone and pockets it. Feeling the blonds arms slip around her neck she lifts her and moves her to the padded table. Laying her down the brunet climbs on the table and starts to stretch other girls hamstrings. Rachel and Tammy are making small talk about the formers school when I Kissed A Girl by Katy Perry starts to play. Rachel's eyes snap to Quinn's and she feels a blush creep over her face. The blond only raises an eyebrow but does not comment.
"Ok. Rachel, I'm going to need you to stand behind Quinn on this next one and I'll stand in front. Quinn you are going to be working on taking steps. I know that is where you were before and we need to see how far behind you fell." Tammy states simply.
"I can't. I'm never going to walk again. I just need to get used to the fact." The blond says as if it the most well know fact in the world.
"Quinn you just have to work at it. You were doing so well before you stopped coming. You only fell that once and…"
"I said I'm never going to walk again so drop it!" The blond screams at Tammy. The silence that follows is heavy.
"Tammy. Please give us a minute to talk." The brunet murmurs. After tammy walks out Rachel sits on the end of the table by Quinn's feet.
"Why?"
"Why what Rachel?"
Why did you yell at her? Why do you want to hurt yourself? Why did you not tell anyone? Just why? But she does not say any of that. Instead she asks, "Why are you so angry?"
"I don't have to explain myself to you."
"You're right. But know that even though I see all the reasons that you have to be angry I see at least double those that you have to be grateful." She turns and adds, "I won't let you down. I'm a lot things Quinn but I'm not a liar and I'm telling you I won't let you fall." She does not know what Quinn finds in the searching of her face but she sees the conclusion as it is drawn.
"Okay."
Rachels hands are on Quinn's hips as she is using the bars to support herself. She is very aware of where her hands are but there is no time to dwell on it because the blond starts to lose strength. Swiftly the tiny singers arms are around the girls waist taking all the weight off the cheerleaders arms. Feeling the sudden support Quinn breaths a sigh of relief. Then she feels a breath on the back of her neck and shivers.
"That is enough for today. Good job Quinn." Tammy sweetly compliments as she helps the brunet get the blond into her chair. "I'll see you in two days okay?"
"Yeah I'll see then. And I'm sorry for snapping at you." Quinn replies as Rachel steps away to check her messages.
"It's cool. It happens more than you think. I'm just glad Rachel was able to talk to you because it only works if you put in the work." A full smile blossoming across her face.
"Time to go home. I need a shower and dinner is waiting." The singer bounces back over and begins to roll the cheerleader out. "See you latter Tammy!", she throws over her shoulder as they leave the building. Once in the car the blond watches the trees flash by.
"So. You kissed a girl?" the blond asks half curious half joking. Unfazed, the brunet grins and responds with a simple yes. Quinn does not disappoint in her startled expression and asks, "And you liked it?"
Chuckling, "Yes I liked it. I'm bi and have no shame because of it. Most people in this town just assume that because I've only dated boys that I'm straight. Their assumption is the furthest thing from the truth there can be. Why? Are you suddenly wondering what its like to kiss a girl?" Watching the blond out of the corner of her eye, she keeps driving.
Rolling her eyes Quinn replies, "No I do not suddenly wonder what its like. I know what its like to kiss a girl. I have played spin the bottle at parties. I just never pegged you to be one to swing that way."
"Like I said, assumptions. We are home. Let's get you cleaned up for dinner."
"What do you mean WE are home? Why are we at your house?"
"When you said your mom has been working late and she was not going to be able to pick you up I asked my dads if you could stay for a few weeks till you got strong enough to stay home alone. I called your mom and she agreed."
"You could have talked to me about it first." Annoyance dripping from every word.
She looks into those hazel eyes and putting every meaning she can in the words she explains, "I know." Getting out of the car she gets the cheerleader inside. The singer sees the panic wash over the blonds face and decides not to say anymore just yet.
