Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 15 – The Injustice Of My Crimes.
Raptor's POV, Marketplace.
The time was nearing.
Armed with the outfit of a common rebel, I rested prone on a local rooftop and kept my eyes out for the convoy. Wreak waited across the street ready to move the second I unloaded our surprise.
Many of the locals saw us plain as day, but due to my respect for the commander I wore his old bandana to cover my face. Wreak wore his own as we were clearly rebellion soldiers. The crowd knew something was going to happen so in a decent sense they watched safely from other ends of the market.
As we waited; my cell phone went off.
"What?" I asked as I got back from Archer's voice.
"I got a ride. I'll move once I hear shooting. Be prepared for a quick exit after that."
"Roger that."
Quickly hanging up, I raised my thumb to Wreak who nodded back.
Gently refocusing, I stared down the road. The convoy could now be heard.
Calmly undoing the safety to the rocket launcher, Wreak took care to ready himself. Lifting it on to my shoulder, I looked forward to see the convoy coming within view.
To my surprise there were two humvees along the perimeter of the truck. One in the front and another in the back. All were G.U.N however. It made no difference.
Taking aim as they neared, I rested my sights on the lead vehicle. With the rocket steadied and my breath held, I pulled the trigger down releasing the rocket.
The sound that was generating was that of a flying jet, and nor the people or the convoy knew what to do when it made direct impact with the lead humvee's grill.
"BOOM!"
The car was engulfed in the flames. The men inside were dead within a second. Wreak and I watched in awe as the humvee itself was tossed up in the air and down onto it's hood.
In reaction however to the fireworks, the truck hit it's brakes and the rear guard pulled alongside to try and set up.
Grabbing my rifle, I got crouched and took aim at the truck's only driver.
"BANG! BANG! BANG!"
Placing three rounds through the windshield, the driver hit the steering wheel in force. The soldiers who were just getting out of their Humvee panicked as they were soon hit in the side by Wreak who was already on the attack.
Taking my time, I hopped off the roof and down onto the street.
As I came into view, one of the soldiers shouted.
"Rebellion! Kill him!"
Taking my gun back up, I placed a solid round right through his skull. His body was sent back into the truck as the others were flanked from behind.
Wreak unloaded a clip into the three of them as I lowered my gun to walk to the truck.
Approaching the massacre, I looked to the men who had been dropped under our feet.
Wreak managed to kill two of them, but one was still breathing. A young gray hedgehog. He almost looked like me. Wreak took aim to finish the job, but before he could off him I ordered.
"Don't!"
Looking to me as I stopped him, I reached down to pick up the kid by his vest.
"Stay with me for a sec kid." I urged him as I dragged him to the nearby building I was once on.
Wreak watched in confusion as I looked back to order him.
"Get the truck ready to move! Now!"
"Yes sir!" He replied as I had reached the wall.
Bringing the kid up to his feet, I pinned him against it to say.
"I got a task for you. You see this?" I asked him as I reached under my vest to pull out an old rebellion patch.
Looking to it, the kid coughed up blood.
"You're going to be the one to give this to General Monroe for me."
"But...?" The kid tried to question me, but was cut off by some rough gagging. Shaking my head I urged.
"It's okay. You're not going anywhere far I promise. In fact...you are to stay right here."
Pulling out my blade, I slammed it right through the patch and into his head.
The kid went cold as Wreak watched from the truck.
After leaving the sign where I had intended it to be, I ran my hand down his face to shut his eyes.
"Good kid." I muttered as I turned around to begin heading back to Wreak.
Wreak had gotten the body out and prepared to drive as I got in the passenger seat.
"Let's go." I ordered him as he nodded and stepped on the gas.
Looking back in the mirror, I watched as the crowd of people approached the body. They understood the job I offered them. It won't be long now.
With Wreak leading the way forward, we knew next for us was to get this gear sorted and to the HQ. G.U.N would be out any minute to begin searching. We had to be gone before anything else could happen.
In a matter of five minutes, we pulled into the factory to find Archer waiting with a large brown van. As we came to a stop he asked.
"You guys okay?"
Taking off our bandanas as we got out, I replied.
"We're both fine."
"Can't say the same for those G.U.N guys though. That rocket was fucking awesome!" Stated Wreak as I then ordered.
"Let's get this gear loaded. Take anything we can use. Meds, guns, ammo, everything."
Archer nodded in speed as Wreak made his way to the back to open it up.
As they began to load I looked to my hands. Blood had splashed them. My body was jittering. This was a sign of my past coming back to haunt me. Killing people isn't the same as it used to be. Maybe it was just because it was my first real assault on G.U.N. Or maybe it was because I just wasn't the man I used to be back then. But ether way this had to be done. Now at least we can focus on the future. We can start by watching the news later. I'm sure G.U.N will get the message I left them. And when they do I want to be there to see it.
General Monroe's POV, Thirty minutes later.
The scene was beyond any simple attack. This was an act of war. Two of my humvees and nine of my men were dead. I had a truck missing and no name's accounted for by who caused this. Hundreds have witnessed this and soon enough word will spread. This can not happen.
As the medics treated the dead, I rested my eyes on a lone building across the street. Making my way over, I stopped to stare.
A young G.U.N soldier. No more then eighteen years of age. Nailed to the wall like he was a fucking banner.
My eyes went to his head as I saw the blade pinning him there jutting out.
Taking it in my grip, I went to pull. The blade came out steadily as I saw something drop under my feet.
Letting the knife go, I bent down to pick it up.
My mind almost didn't want to believe what it was, but as it became clear I knew who I was now looking for. And whoever the fuck is doing this will regret the day he went against me.
"General Monroe! We found the truck parked in the old cement factory! It looks like most the hardware was stolen and the rest was burned. No signs of the attackers. They got away."
In anger I clutched my fist and ordered.
"I want these rebels found!"
"Yes sir." Replied the trooper as he ran off.
Looking back to the patch one last time, I growled and made my way back to my humvee.
Looks like the point was made. I wonder what is to come next. I'll have another chapter up soon. Thanks for reading guys and gals.
