Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 17 - And They Will Be Reprehended.
Alicia's POV, The next day.
Sitting alone in the bedroom, I finished wrapping what gifts Raptor and I had bought before all this had happened. I can't believe he's gone.
As I put the final piece of tape on, I took notice to the TV I had on.
"Jenny Young here with late news. The Rebellion? Dead? Or still fighting?"
Focusing on the screen, I listened in concern as she continued.
"Yesterday near the main street market a G.U.N convoy was ambushed by two unknown attackers. According to eye witness reports they were two male hedgehogs. And the shocker, they were outfitted with rebellion gear. Now this hasn't been made official yet by Commander Drake Linnen, but it is believed this was an act of war. Or at least a last ditch effort to show that the once great rebellion army is still alive and fully prepared to fight back here in Iraq."
Even though they gave no description I knew my husband was one of those men.
"Now it is uncertain what G.U.N has planned, but there are reports that they are looking vigorously for these men.
"Oh god." I mumbled as she then said.
"General Monroe, who is the commander of G.U.N forces here in Iraq, says that they will be found. But as of yet, no evidence of these rebels has been released. So for now they seem to appear to have gotten away with their actions. General Monroe would also like to offer a bounty for any information on these men. Please call the capital if you have any leads. More information to come later tonight. This is Jenny young, action news. Back to you at the studio Ken."
Switching to the studio, the next reporter uttered.
"Well if the rebellion is back Jenny let me just say off the record I stand by their actions. God's speed rebels. Iraq is behind you."
Letting out a smile, I turned off the TV and looked to my door as Ghost came walking in to ask.
"We doing anything for dinner mom?"
Trying my best to refocus, I replied.
"Ahhh I was going to make something, why?"
Standing alone by the door, he replied.
"I just don't feel good. I didn't want to trouble you."
"Never honey. What's wrong?" I asked as I got up to approach him.
Looking down to the ground he replied.
"I just feel bad."
"About?" I wondered as he mumbled.
"Dad."
Letting out a sigh, I sat down next to him to state.
"He'll be back. He's just handling some things."
"I'm not worried about him coming back mom. I'm just mad that he thinks I hate him."
"Well? Do you?" I asked him as he looked up into my eyes to reply.
"I don't know."
Ghost was just like his dad. Stubborn and hard as hell to talk to. Taking him into view I replied.
"Your dad loves you Ghost. He's just all over the place with his feelings. In the end he just wants to worry about you and your sister. It may not seem like he cares now, but trust me he's out there working hard so you'll be able to grow up and be happy. Believe me baby, he loves you more then anything in the world. And no matter if you do hate him or not that will never change. You just need to at least accept that what he's out doing is for you. All he wants is for you to be happy."
Ghost ran his eyes back down as he slowly turned for the door.
"Ghost." I said sadly as he stopped.
"Don't hate your father. He doesn't deserve it."
"Okay mom." He replied quietly as he left.
Watching as my son vanished down the stairs, I let out another sigh and did my best to refocus on the day. It's Christmas Eve. And as a mother I need to make it one to at least remember.
Raptor's POV, Rebellion Ops Center, That night.
"Still nothing has been found yet on the attack, but G.U.N is said to not be backing down. Security has been upped in general areas and as declared by General Monroe himself. He will not rest till the threat of war has been silenced. This is Jenny Young. Signing off. Goodnight Iraq. And merry Christmas."
"Looks like Monroe didn't stop the reports. Guess he decided it was best to offer up a reward instead. Too bad no one in their right mind would turn us in. It's basically pointless." Stated Wreak as we all were huddled around the TV.
Keeping my place on the couch, I stated.
"He has men out looking for us. We can't lower our guard. That's why I'm starting to think we need a look-out. They can sit up on the roof and watch for any trouble, then radio down with the walkies we got off the shipment yesterday."
Everyone agreed in full as I looked to Wreak to order.
"You'll be first watch. Then Archer. Shift sometime tonight to get some rest. Both of you."
"Yes sir." Replied Wreak as Archer nodded and slowly asked.
"It's getting late Raptor. Don't you wana go see Alicia and the kids?"
Looking to him directly, I continued to listen as Marx added.
"Yeah, it's Christmas Major. Go see them. It wouldn't be right."
"I don't think it's a good idea."
"Why not man?" Questioned Wreak as he got a walkie-talkie together.
Looking to the center of the room I replied.
"It's just not a good time. With all this and the fights we've been having...she would only she my visit as another burden to her."
"But you still got to think about Midnight and Ghost Raptor. Even if your toe to toe with Alicia your still their dad in the end. The least you should do is go home and tuck them in or something." Stated Wreak as I looked to Archer to ask.
"You think so?"
"Dude, we know so. You can't let this get the better of you. We all know your better then that."
Nodding my head slowly, I soon replied.
"Alright. Then I'll be back later. Just hold down the fort till then okay?" I asked of them as they all smiled.
"We got this. Just get out of here man." Urged Wreak as Archer added before I could get up.
"Be careful out there."
As I got up from my seat I took care to grab my rifle. Who knows if I would need it at this hour but I can't be too careful with G.U.N out and about looking for us.
Calmly proceeding to the exit, Wreak shouted.
"Good luck!"
After getting outside did I go to my car that was park across the street a ways. As soon as I was inside I checked the time to see it was about the hour Alicia would be in bed.
Alicia's POV.
The night was silent. The kids were asleep and I was awake wondering what to do about tomorrow. The kids...?
Cut off by the door to my room shutting, I panicked and turned on the light to find my husband caught off guard. He covered his eyes as I shouted in a quiet tone to not wake the kids.
"What the hell are you doing!? You scared the shit out of me!"
Looking to his cold face, I took notice to the dead eyes he held. And without a movement he replied.
"Sorry. I was hoping you'd be asleep by now."
Slowly relaxing, I then asked.
"So are you stopping by just to say hello? Or is this your way of surprising the kids in the morning?"
Giving himself time to reach the bedside, he replied.
"I just can't pretend like I'm still not a father. I have responsibilities to Ghost and Midnight."
"And to me." I added as he let out a small chuckle to reply.
"And to you."
Keeping myself under the covers, I asked.
"So are you coming to bed or what?"
Giving me a small smile, I watched as he calmly took off his brown tee shirt. Under was his handsome gray body. The second he reach his end of the bed, I couldn't help but take him down into my arms.
Landing nearly on top of me, I kissed him softly to run my hands down his back.
Stopping on the seems to his pants, I pulled out from his backside Shadow's M1911.
Our mouths disconnected as I asked.
"We're you planning on shooting me?"
Looking me in the eyes he replied.
"Only if you gave me trouble."
Softly laughing, I put the gun on the nightstand next to me and replied in confidence.
"It wouldn't be enough. I'm too much for you to handle now days."
After a few more kisses he urged.
"Try me."
Running my hands all along his body, I tried to think about how the kids would react tomorrow to seeing their father. It's not like he's been gone long, but Midnight and Ghost need him. Now more then ever.
Well it seems like things are holding up nicely to say the least. I'll have another chapter up soon. Please review as always. I always want your feedback.
mT Shadow.
