In the dungeon Tails was curled up crying while Sonic had his arm around him, but even he was having trouble holding back his tears "No matter what happens, keep your eyes closed". The door suddenly opened, and guards appeared "It's dawn" was all they said before they began leading the two somewhere. In the lair Infinite turns back into Amy and heads for the door "I'll tell you boyfriend goodbye for you, princess" everyone in the room except Silver was struggling and threatening Infinite even Omega who for once in his entire life actually sounded angry "I will make sure there is nothing left of you when I'm done, Jackal!" Infinite only replied in his normal voice "Oh, I'm so worried" before leaving. "This is all my fault" everyone turned to Silver "What do you mean" Blaze asked him. "Me, Shadow and Knuckles would've had enough power to beat him. If I didn't become a mortal, we could have stopped him and Sonic and Tails wouldn't…". He couldn't finish but Blaze replied "Silver this isn't your fault, you couldn't have known and besides, we all know who did this" they all looked at Jet.
Jet sighed and went over to Shadow and Knuckles glass prison and started hitting them "What are you doing now" Amy asked him "What does it look like I'm doing. I'm trying to free these two chumps so they can save the other two chumps" everyone was surprised by this. Meanwhile Sonic and Tails were taken to the top of a tower where two hooded men with axes where waiting. Jet was using his fans to throw the glass orbs at the wall but they still didn't break "Try dropping it from high up" the king suggested "Oh sure, no problem" Jet said knowing that both of them where really heavy. Tails had a bag put over his head and Sonic couldn't un-see the look of terror in his eyes before it covered his face, but before they did the same to him "Wait" he saw Amy walking towards him "Amy, I knew you wouldn't go through with this". Amy went right up to him "I just wanted to say goodbye-" Infinites mask then appeared on her face "Hedgehog" "Infinite, its Infin-" was all Sonic could say before a bag was put over his head.
Jet got on his extreme gear and tried to carry the two imprisoned genies as high as he could and then dropped them, the glass prisons shattered upon hitting the ground and both genies immediately flew out of the lair. The two guards were about to drop their axes on Tails and Sonic, but Knuckles flew in and saved the latter while Shadow saved the former. As they were being carried off Sonic took off the bag over his head "Thanks, Knuckles" "Well, I was thinking that not having a head wouldn't suit you". Sonic then looked over to Shadow who was carrying Tails "You alright buddy?" Tails looked shaken, but he was trying to hide it "Yeah I'm… I'm fine, thanks Shadow" Shadow smiled "Well if you think that's all we can do". They flew to the roof of the palace and Knuckles yelled "BIBBIDI, BOBBIDI, BOO!" everyone else was freed from the lair and appeared on the roof. "Sonic!" Amy yelled before the two hugged which Tails then joined because he needed one after that. Omega then walked up to him "It is good that you are still breathing, flesh bag" he may have said it coldly, but Sonic knew he was happy to see him "Thanks, Omega". Omega then turned to Shadow "Thank you for stopping my dismantlement" Shadow smiled "What are friends for?" he said as he patted his friend on the back.
"Um, Sonic there's someone else who wants to talk to you" Amy said before revealing Jet which got Sonic angry "You traitorous hawk! How can you show your face after-" "Sonic, Jet saved us, he didn't have to but he did". Sonic was surprised by this "You… You did?" Jet looked embarrassed "Yeah, maybe a little but let's focus on something more important like how we put as much distance between us and Infinite!". "No, we have to stop him" Sonic said and Amy replied "But how? He's so powerful" "The ruby" everyone turned to Silver "He's still connected to the ruby, if it goes, he goes". Jet however wasn't convinced "Um, reality check, Infinite is an all-powerful psychopath" the King however was determined "There's no telling what he'll do to Shamar, I will not abandon my people". Every one began to fly "Jet, if you want to go, we'll understand" Sonic said to Jet "Yeah, sorry. I've done my good deed, I owe you nothing" Jet flew off on his extreme gear when everyone else headed to the throne room.
In the throne room Infinite was sitting on the throne when Scratch was standing in front of him. Infinite laughed "Haha, now that my revenge is complete, there is one matter left to deal with" "Yes, my final wish". Infinite smiled under his mask "Yes, you will wish me free of that wretched ruby!" Scratch backed away "What no, my wish, you got what you wanted, now it's my turn". Infinite spoke politely "Oh, but you don't need a third wish. You want the sunken treasure of Captain Whiskers, it's yours" he makes the ship appear and gold pours out of it. Scratch is very happy and begins running around the ship, little did he know that the figure head at the front of the ship was Shadow in disguise. He tried to reach his hand out to get the ruby from Scratch, but he was moving too much, so he gave up and appeared back with the others just outside the throne room. Scratch was feeling greedy "So, I can have more?" Infinite begrudgingly made a giant green emerald appear "Nice, more". Infinite made piles of gold appear all over the throne room, Knuckles stretched his hand to reach for the ruby, but a pile of gold landed on it. Infinite was getting annoyed "Now, if that's excessive enough, perhaps you could wish for my freedom" "Oh ,yeah freedom sure thing" he held up the ruby "I wish for Infinite to be… Wait, how do I know all of this won't disappear when I set you free?". Infinite had enough and pushed Scratch onto the throne "I think the more pressing question is how you will remain alive if you don't!?".
Scratch was getting scared "But you said genies can't kill" "You would be surprised what you can live through". Infinite suddenly saw Knuckles trying to sneak past the gold, knowing they've been caught Fang and Sonic make a dash for the ruby and start fighting Scratch "We'll take that". Infinite was enraged "You're still live hedgehog? NO!" He shoots a fireball at them and Fang gets in front of Sonic and takes most of the blast, but the force launches them and Scratch out of the throne room and they begin to fall down to the courtyard.
