Love Struck Delusion

Chapter 22 – This Goal Is Mine.

Archer's POV.

Getting in the car with our new "friend" at my side, I got in behind the wheel to watch ever so close as she got next to me in the passenger seat. Our eyes met and with confusion she asked.

"What?"

Taking my time to look her over, I replied in a strict tone.

"I wana make something absolutely clear before we go. And your going to listen to me understand?"

"If you have a problem just say it."

Her response was certain. Taking a calm, relax breath I stated.

"I don't trust you for a single second with my life or my friend's. You haven't earned any right to get anything from me. As far as I'm concern this test is a means for you to change my mind. And I'm not going to sugarcoat this. I've been through more hell then you could ever imagine. I'm not easily impressed."

Hunter was silent by my words as I finished and started the engine.

"We all appreciate what you did for Raptor, but that is where our appreciation ends, unless you prove otherwise. So answer me. Are you ready to prove yourself to me Hunter?"

In confidence she replied.

"I'm ready."

Nodding to her I then stated.

"Then let's go do this then."

"What do you have in mind?" She wondered as I replied.

"Three simple tests to prove your truly a rebel. Just wait and see. This could take all night."

Letting out a thick breath, Hunter relaxed in her seat as I began our drive to our first destination.

Taking us to the first spot I had planned out, I pulled to the side of the road to look out the window.

"You see that building?" I asked as she looked at what I was pointing at.

Through the darkness she asked to be sure.

"Global exports?"

Nodding I replied.

"It's you're first stop."

"What am I doing?" She asked in confusion as I pulled up on my shirt to take out my M9.

"Your getting a gun."

"A gun?" She questioned as I nodded.

"A case of guns in fact. I don't care what, just get in there and get them. I'll be here when your done."

"Are you serious?" She asked as I ordered.

"Get out."

Giving me a shit look, Hunter made her way out of the car and towards the fenced warehouse. I watched in anticipation for what was going to happen to her. I want her to prove herself. But she'll have to fight for it if she's serious about winning me over.

Hunter's POV.

Making my way to the fence, I looked back to Archer who continued to sit and watch.

Urging me to move, I obeyed and took my care to climb the fence. Once I was on the other side, I proceeded to the nearby entrance.

Grabbing the door with my hand, I soon realized it was locked and was left with a bit of confusion on how to get inside. Quickly looking up, I found a window that looked to be a crack open.

Back up for a running start, I used my feet to push up off the door and into the window which I was correct to think was left open. Taking care to look around before entering, I saw no one in sight and proceeded to throw myself through and onto my feet.

As I regained my composure, I looked around to see the warehouse was filled with nothing but cargo containers. How the hell was I suppose to find guns mixed in with all this?

Beginning my search, I could only make out containers of food and stock. Nothing shouted guns to me as I was now about halfway in the mess of cargo.

As I continued to quietly look around the area, I stopped to the sound of footsteps coming from further out.

Pinning myself to a crate I heard.

"This job is shit man. Why aren't we out looking for those rebellion fucks who blew up the capital last night?"

"Because we can't leave these people with millions of dollars worth of goods. Dude do you even know what's being stored here?"

"No?" The man replied in confusion as I heard them getting closer.

Keeping my body away from where their voices were coming from, I continued to listen.

"Besides food and standard goods, we have military hardware waiting to go back to the states. Guns, armor caches, vehicles, bombs. This place is a fucking gold mine for the rebellion. We need to be on watch for anyone."

"So where is all that stuff anyway? Cause I only see food." Stated the other man as I really hoped to get an answer out of them.

"Towards the back end of the building. The vehicles and shit are outside. But we got enough here to supply an army no doubt."

With a notch on my belt, I slowly began to slip off to the back end of the building. This would be easier then I thought.

Carefully getting there under silence, I took notice to more and more blue crates popping up. These had to be the guns.

Quickly getting close to one, I noticed it was locked with a hand scanner.

"Fuck me." I said to myself in anger as I soon heard.

"Gladly."

My body tensed up as I recognized the voice as one of the men I overheard from before.

"I saw you slip in from the window. What? You didn't think anyone would notice you?"

Keeping still, I shut my eyes as he ordered.

"Turn around."

I didn't move.

Getting mad the man placed his hand on my arm to try and force me around. The second he tried to spin me, I turned as fast as I could and reached for his chest. Finding his knife right there in it's hold, I pulled it out and sent it up into his chin. Immediately the man looked shocked.

"Don't touch me." I ordered him as I watched his eyes go still.

In seconds, I let the knife go and watched as he fell to the ground.

Letting out a quiet breath, I took notice that he was G.U.N. Archer failed to mention they would be here.

After I was calmed down a bit, I took the dead soldier by his arm and placed his hand on the scanner.

"Beep."

With a slight touch, the container opened and inside was my crates. Guns from all types rested within.

Quickly taking the first one in sight, I lifted it up in my arms. The fucking thing was heavy.

Making my way past the dead man I killed, I proceeded to the exit at which I first entered. After unlocking the door, I made my way to the fence to see Archer still sitting inside the car.

Carefully making my way back over with the crate in my hands, I walked on over to see him pop the trunk.

Following along, I placed the crate inside and proceeded back to my seat inside.

Placing my eyes on him, he asked.

"How'd it go?"

Keeping my positive spirit up I replied.

"It went well."

"No trouble?" He asked in concern as I slowly replied.

"One of them saw me enter. I killed him."

"Did you?" He asked as I nodded.

"I don't see any blood on your hands. And I won't take your word for it. But good job getting the weapons ether way. Now on to the second test."

In my mind I wanted to call this guy a complete asshole at this point. But keeping in my emotions, he started the car and continued on to the next spot which I hoped would involve less attitude.

Marx's POV, Rebellion ops center.

Raptor and Wreak sat on the couch for the past hour. Just staring at the TV. Or maybe it was just Wreak. Raptor looked completely out of it. Like he was focusing on something else entirely. I wanted to believe it was his family. There is just no way in hell he's forgotten about his duties as a father so quickly. It's not human in the slightest. Even if him and Alicia are fighting I can't see that as enough to throw away his feelings. Maybe he's just confused and doesn't know how to handle it right now. I wouldn't know to be honest ether if I was in his shoes. The only thing I could say to him is that this war is for the better. But at the same time I would tell him to make time for his kids. He can't ignore them to all this bloodshed to come. Hell if Alicia even knew that he was hurting right now I bet that would change things between them. Maybe give them new light to work with. Who knows? But I feel bad just watching his life go down the way it is. Should I at least keep Alicia informed? Would it be worth it? Or maybe it's best I just let them go on by themselves. Let them figure out how they feel. Damn it, I don't know.

Keeping my eyes on Raptor, I contemplated the question, with my phone a hand's length away.

What should Marx do? You let me know. I'll have more up soon.
