Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 30 – For That Is My Destiny.
Hunter's POV, G.U.N HQ.
General Monroe ordered his men to wait outside while we went into his office. It was by far a very wreaked room. Papers everywhere. I couldn't even begin to think of where to start looking. The obvious spot was his computer that rested on his desk, but as I went to get close he stated.
"As you can see I have been a very busy person in this room. Now I have most of this stuff all together."
"Bullshit." I mumbled in my mind as he went on to say.
"But I can't have it looking this way much longer. Commander Linnen is on his way here later this week from Pakistan and I need it looking perfect. Honestly I don't care how you clean it up I just need it spotless. But try to keep similar things together for me. Now I'll be back in like ten minutes. I expect some of this put away by then. Okay dear girl?"
Looking back to General Monroe, I replied.
"Yes sir. No problem sir."
Giving me a smile, he urged as he was leaving.
"Cheer up. Can't have such a beautiful girl frowning."
Giving him a smile, I watched as he left the room to shut the door behind him.
After he was gone, I quickly put down my bag to pull out a small flash drive near the bottom. I had to make this quick. I had no intentions of cleaning any of his shit.
Finding a USB port, I attached the flash inside and turned on his computer to watch as it soon loaded up his lock screen with a password required for activation. With my mind at a blank, I soon widened my eyes as the flash drive began to blink and the screen begin to pop up words in the password box.
As soon as it was done, I hit enter and to my amazement the password was correct and I was let inside. That program Raptor said Marx gave him sure does work.
With the main screen now loaded up, I began to open up his hard drive files. To my knowledge I knew this would take forever to read, so I simply copied and pasted all the files over to the flash drive.
With it slowly loading the files over, I began to take my own time to look through what I could. Due to my time line to get this done however, I quickly made a quick read over one of the files to read over something titled "Viper Venom" and "Project Hammer" in Pakistan.
"Beep!"
Looking to see the flash drive was done doing what it had to, I quickly pulled it out and tossed it in the bag to make my way then for the door.
Slowly opening it up, I looked left and right to see no one around.
Taking my chance, I made haste for the exit to this building.
Nearing the main door in no time, I was quickly spotted by the guard who not so long ago let me in.
"{Where are you going?" He asked in confusion as I just kept walking by to state.
"Home! This job sucks!"
In utter confusion, the guard watched me barge out the front door and for the gate leading onto the street.
Soon out of his sight, I let out a gasp of air to smile in success. I can't believe it was that easy.
As I continued to walk down the road, I was soon approached by a car pulling to my side. Inside was Raptor who ordered.
"Get in."
Still smiling, I made my way for the passenger seat and got inside to be asked.
"Did you get it?"
Nodding as he had us stopped on the side of the road, I replied.
"Yeah. I got everything."
Raptor looked different as he checked his watch.
"Not even an hour in and you stole all his secrets."
"Yeah. Impressive right?" I asked in happiness as he looked into my eyes to reply.
"More like stupid."
My eyes widened as he checked the rear view mirror to state.
"They knew we were coming."
In confusion, I looked behind us to see a large black Humvee driving our way.
"But...?"
"Get down!" He ordered me as he grabbed the back of my head to pin me to his lap.
"BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!"
The windshield and windows broke in a matter of moments as bullets penetrated the seats and cheap metal all around us.
In a break between the fire, Raptor urged.
"Hold on!"
Hitting the gas as hard as he could, Raptor spun our car around and right into the oncoming Humvee. His side drilled theirs as I could only bounce with the force at which we hit them.
But still in tact, Raptor kept his foot down to drive us in the opposite direction. The Humvee had to turn around as we had a chance to gain some distance.
"How did they know!?" I asked him as I picked my head up from his lap to be told in force.
"They could have known in a number of ways. All that matters now is that we get out of here."
"How?!" I asked in confusion as he calmly replied while making a left.
"Just leave it to me. You've done enough."
I was at a loss for how to take his words as he now focused on the road ahead with the enemy behind in speed.
Raptor's POV.
Checking the rear view, I saw the Humvee still tailing us at a good pace.
Hunter should have seen this coming. I did the second she stepped out of that building in no less the forty five minutes. Monroe had to have been tipped off. And now he was planning on killing us both. There was no way he was letting us get away with his data this easily.
As I proceeded to the drainage tunnels Wreak had suggested back during the fuel raid, I forced a left and was caught off guard as a civilian was making the same bend.
"Oh shit!" I shouted as we ran straight into the car's side.
The front right wheel was destroyed on impact and it wasn't a surprise when we were sent into a roll.
Grabbing on to Hunter who was just sitting there in confusion, I ordered.
"Hold on to me!"
Feeling her hands tighten around my back as we hit the roof of the car, I used all my power to protect her from the remaining rolls. But as the last roll hit, we were sent into a nearby poll and spun out on the roof and back into the street.
Hearing silence around us, I opened my eyes to see Hunter bleeding from the back of her head. She must have still hit pretty hard despite my efforts.
Feeling my legs once more, I took the chance to reached for her door.
"Come on." I ordered it as I pushed it open to undo our seat belts next.
Landing on the roof with her body, I did my best to get her outside and onto the street.
"Ughh...fuck." I groaned in pain as I then came through to see the Humvee that was following us come to a stop.
In a rush for our lives, I quickly pulled Hunter into my arms and began to run as fast as I could for a nearby apartment complex.
Bashing through the doors as bullets were fired at us, I made my way up the stairs with her in my arms to hear from outside.
"You're not getting away you rebels! You'll die here!"
Up the first flight and hearing no one coming in behind us, I took the opportunity to approach on outside window along the stairs to look outside at the problem we face.
Five G.U.N soldiers. All armed. They debated on how to enter as I continued to watch.
With their anger and confusion building, I was positive this would be an easy getaway, but was thrown off guard as a fully armor soldier came from behind the nearby Humvee to order.
"The lot of you stay out here in case they try to run! I'll flush these rebellion pigs out from wherever their hiding!"
I've seen soldiers like him before. They were G.U.N black ops troopers. Best of the best. Shadow's brother Dark was one of them during the first war in Afghanistan. They knew almost every tactic in war. They were always given the best equipment. And these guys wouldn't die easily. They don't know pain nor defeat. Getting away would be harder then ever now. But I had to try.
Watching as he approached the front door to the complex, I quickly began to run for the roof with Hunter still out cold in my arms.
With my body still in slight pain from my previous injuries, I managed to reach it with enough time to hide Hunter as best as I could. I knew there was really no way off this roof besides jumping and I can't risk that right now. I was going to have to fight this guy.
Hiding Hunter behind a nearby roof vent, I prepared myself and got close to the door. My body wasn't ready for this moment. But I had no choice. Pulling out my blade from behind my back, I raised it up as I heard the soldier coming. His armor carried a loud thump as he traversed the stairs.
With my legs ready to move, I charged the second I saw his gun come through the doorway.
"Ahhhh!" I shouted as I sent my knife forward.
Immediately panicking, the soldier used his gun to block my swing. But to my advantage, I had enough force behind my blow that I was capable of making him lose his grip. I then watched as the rifle went towards the edge of the roof to stop of it's side.
With his guard now down, I took my chance to lunge at him to only be caught by his monster grip.
Taking his hands around my wrist, I widened my eyes as he lifted me up off my feet to shout.
"Ahhhh!"
With my mind in a panic of it's own as I was off the ground due to his strength. I braced myself as he pushed me away.
Landing on my back and rolling, I did my best to get back up, to only be caught by his boot coming for me.
Raising my hands to block it, I was shocked by the force he had as he sent me and my blade away from one another.
I went further back as it went off to some other part of the building. I was unable to see where it went due to the fact that when I stopped rolling he was already back in my face; sending his fist down into my right cheek.
"Bash!"
Falling to my back with blood leaving my mouth, I grunted in pain as he walked up to me with his pistol getting drawn.
Spotting the weapon, I panicked as it was a desert eagle he was carrying.
"You should have just run." He stated as he began to lift it up towards my head.
With blood still sliding down my face, I replied.
"If I ran I wouldn't be called a man."
I heard him chuckle from under his large helmet. And with what agility I had left, I sent my boot up into his wrist kicking the gun out of his grip and above us in the air.
With his eyes looking for the weapon to come back down, I took my opportunity to charge back up and into his gut.
Hunter's POV.
"Ahhhhh!"
Hearing shouting from my side, I opened my eyes to mumble.
"Raptor?"
My head hurt. I had no idea what was going on until I looked to my left.
I was on a roof and Raptor was...?
My eyes widened as I saw him tackling one of those armored G.U.N freaks to the ground under him.
As they both landed on one another, I lost attention to see a huge desert eagle drop from the air and land behind them.
In confusion of what to do, I panicked as the soldier sent an elbow into Raptor's head.
"Bash!"
He went down so hard I swore he would have been knocked out, but to my amazement, he just did his best to block the next attack which was a large fist coming for his head.
Grabbing the man's hand with all his power, I grew shocked as he used all his strength to toss him over his downed body and towards the edge of the roof.
Blood was all along Raptor's mouth and cheek, as he quickly crawled for the gun which was a good fifteen feet away.
Unable to feel my legs, I could only watch as the soldier got back on his feet to run after him.
No more then three feet away by then, the man sent his boot into Raptor's back to order.
"Stop fucking moving you rebel!"
Pinned by the force of his boot, Raptor was unable to move and I was feeling my body begin to fill with adrenaline.
Raptor's POV.
With his boot pushing down on my back, I could only watch as he began to laugh and turn for his gun which rested a few feet in front of us.
As his eyes turned to look for it, I followed; to widen my eyes as Hunter stood before him with it in her hands.
"Who the fuck?" He said in confusion as she ordered.
"Get off him!"
"BANG!"
The recoil was enough to make her stumble the gun, but the round was large enough to pierce the man's armor.
Releasing his boot as the round had hit his side. I watched as he began to grow enraged from the pain.
"Shoot him!" I ordered Hunter as she regained her ground to fire another round.
"BANG!"
This time she was prepared for the recoil and caught her footing. It was just enough to allow her to fire multiple rounds in succession.
"BANG! BANG! BANG!"
Hitting him in the chest three times, the soldier fell to his back. Hunter stood there in a bit of shock at what she had just done as I got back to my feet to approach her.
Looking into her eyes still in shock that she saved me, I gently took the gun from her to nod.
Nodding back, she watched as I approached the injured man to aim at his head.
"Fuck you!" He shouted as I pulled the trigger.
"BANG!"
The glass plating around his face shattered as the round went clean through and into his skull.
Watching as his body reacted by sending his arms and legs up a few inches from the ground. I soon lowered the gun as he went still and died below my feet.
With Hunter still in shock, I urged.
"We need to get out of here. More will be coming."
Looking into my eyes, I offered her my hand. In a few seconds, she took it and I lead her to edge of the roof where a fire escape waited leading into a nearby alley.
The best part was that my knife was waiting there, caught between the metal floor. After picking it back up did I help guide us down.
My plan was to back track through these until we reached the HQ. With luck we would avoid any more G.U.N and be back within the hour.
Still caught off guard by how Hunter saved me back there, I looked to her as we walked to say.
"Thank you."
Her eyes went bright as she looked into mine to reply.
"Yeah...no problem."
I sensed she was not used to what just happened, but thanks to her we got out alive and General Monroe was down one less trooper.
That's it for this chapter. Let me know what you think.
