Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 34 – My Unending Truth.
Hannon's POV, Micky's Pub.
I sat here waiting. Where the hell was he?
With my mind deep in thought, I soon noticed the front door to the pub open up. Before it's frame came the only person left I could bother to trust with the fate of my home country.
With our eyes locked as I sat up to face him, I asked.
"What's with the guards?"
Entering the pub slowly to approach me, behind him was two armed black ops troopers. I knew these men. Always ramped up on Viper venom; they were by far the most dangerous men in the G.U.N military.
Stopping before me, Commander Drake Linnen replied.
"Can't be too safe Hannon. Especially with ex-rebellion Generals. You understand, right?" He asked to be sure as I had his seat already out for him.
Looking to me with a face that read he still didn't trust me, I then stated.
"I didn't ask you to come here to trust me. I just want you to listen to a few last words from a dying rebellion leader."
With his eyes still on me, Linnen urged.
"Well if you're so determined to do this, then you'll have no problem being searched General. After all I can't be too safe when I'm in Iraq."
Nodding, I got up to allow one of the black ops troopers to begin searching me. In the end however, he found nothing more then my wallet. Which he handed back to state to the Commander.
"He's clean sir."
Retaking my seat, Commander Linnen then asked.
"So what's so important that you needed to see me in person for Hannon?"
With my mind trying not to draw a blank, I soon replied.
"I wanted to talk to you about the current situation G.U.N faces here in Iraq."
"You mean the last bastion of the rebellion who's giving General Monroe such a hard time?"
Nodding, I then stated.
"I know who is in charge of it all Commander. And before you ask, no I don't approve of his actions one bit. In fact, I'm completely against them. He's only hurting this country. And he needs to be stopped."
Linnen was thinking me over carefully. Soon though he came through to ask.
"I already have a guess on who it is General. Only problem I have is evidence to prove it. If I had some I could pin him down and end this silly battle he's waging against me. But go ahead and tell me, who is it?"
With every intention on hurting Raptor in the open, I replied his name.
"Raptor Voltz."
Commander Drake Linnen began to nod.
"As I guessed. How do you know?"
Looking to him as we were given a few beers by the bartender, I replied.
"Because he told me. He admitted to killing you're men back in Pakistan and he's even dragged along a few fellow friends of mine to help him. Those men are two ex-special forces soldiers who go by the names, Wreak and Archer. Both are highly trained and very good at what they do. With them at his side Raptor has a good chance at doing almost anything he wants to hurt us Commander."
"Who else?" He wondered as he drank his beer before me.
"A doctor by the name of Marx. He's the sole reason any of them are alive today. Without him they will all wind up dying sooner or later." I stated as he nodded.
After putting down his beer, Commander Linnen then said to me.
"Hannon we both know Raptor is out of his mind to be facing my army. G.U.N will sort him out even without your help. But since your actually helping, I want to ask you something."
My mind was completely focused as he then asked.
"Where's his family hiding?
With our eyes locked, I slowly stated.
"I don't know for sure. But I have a guess. Afghanistan. I know Raptor would hide them there with the rest of the rebellion. More then likely Commander Mason over there has them on watch for his sake. And more then likely he'll be aiding Raptor's efforts."
Linnen was now thinking in silence as I glanced to his men who stared at me darkly.
With time Linnen came back around to state.
"We both know I can't be seen committing crimes in the public eyes. But...you can. I don't want to make things any worse, but Raptor may trust you still. If you can get close to him Hannon...well let's just say nether of us will have any problems left to worry about. And this country can begin to prosper once more under our rule."
I nodded very carefully as he added.
"You do this and I'll be sure your compensated General."
"And the others?" I wondered in confusion as he got up from his seat to reply.
"They'll break off once he's dead. If they don't, you have my word I'll handle them. You just deal with Voltz. And do me a favor Hannon."
"Yes sir?" I wondered as he smiled to order.
"Make him suffer."
With our eyes locked, I replied.
"Yes sir."
"Good. Thank you for the information General. Oh, and the beer. After this is all done I'll buy you one."
Nodding as Commander Linnen made his way out of the pub, I refocused on my new problem. How the fuck do I get close to Raptor again? He doesn't trust me for anything. This was going to be hard.
Taking the time to think and slowly finish my drink. I soon took my care to leave and get heading back to my car. I needed to go home and think about this for a while. God knows Raptor isn't stupid, but maybe I can figure something out.
Upon reaching my car, I pulled back onto the lonely road and began my drive home.
Raptor's POV.
I sat outside the pub watching the whole time as Hannon talked to that scumbag Linnen. I knew from anyone's mind now would be the proper time to kill them both, but I wasn't in any condition or in my right mind. Taking on two black ops troopers and Linnen himself would prove to be too much for me to handle right now. I had to let him go this time.
I didn't know what was being said between them, but I had a good guess as to what Hannon was doing. He was telling Linnen all about me in order to save himself. That fucker was selling me out. But I could understand how his information could seem old. I'm sure Linnen already marked me a long time ago as his enemy. The problem he had was confirming it to be sure.
Watching as Linnen finished his beer, I soon saw him leaving with his men. Hannon stayed in his seat as Linnen was soon gone.
Watching now calmly as he looked to be thinking about his actions, I felt the grip on my M1911 tightening around my palm in anger. I trusted this guy with my life. And this is how he turns out to be towards the rebellion. I still couldn't believe it, but now it was clear.
In time, Hannon made his way out towards his car and back onto the road. I sat there with indecision as I held my gun in debate.
What should Raptor do?
Go After Hannon now?
Or
Wait?
mT Shadow.
