Love Stuck Delusion

Chapter 39 – Drowning Among Men.

General Monroe's POV, Iraq Capital building.

"They took the treaty Linnen. That fucking rat Raptor Voltz and his little Rebellion. They got right under my men and nabbed it."

With Linnen on the line, I heard him sigh and ask.

"Where is it?"

"I have no idea. The way things are Raptor had to have hidden it. That, or he still has it. I can't see that man giving it to anyone else."

"Then find him." Ordered Linnen as I questioned.

"Don't you keep up with current events Linnen? Iraq is getting fucked. Raptor already took out my main fuel supply. I barely have enough gas coming in to keep the patrols up and running. I can't be expected to send out a search party for this treaty. And with the country slowly turning on me; it will get only worse. I need Raptor dealt with now."

"You have no one left?" Questioned Linnen as I replied from behind my desk.

"He knows my standard men too well. And with the Black ops? Fuck I feel like he knows exactly how to handle them. Raptor right now is our most dangerous enemy. He needs to be killed."

"He's your enemy. Not mine. Not yet."

"What are you saying? You can't ignore my call for help."

"I surely can. The president is behind my call one hundred percent. You have no choice but to accept that. And if I decide to let you sink I surely will go through with it."

"Linnen!" I shouted as he went silent.

"I'm not the type to do this, but please. I'm not going to beg, but I'll get damn close. Please help me with this. You and I both know if Raptor takes over Iraq he'll be coming after you with help from Afghanistan's Rebellion. And if that happens you'll be in some trouble."

"I have more power then you or Raptor himself knows of. But...?"

I listened carefully as Linnen came back from his pause to say.

"I'll help you. But this is you're only chance. After this you're on your own. Do you understand me Monroe?"

"Yes Commander." I replied as he urged.

"Just wait at the Capital. I'll send a team. They'll be there by the end of the night."

"Thank you Linnen! I knew I could...?!" Cutting me off Linnen stated.

"This is all you get. Do you understand me?"

"Yes sir." I replied with a gulp of tension as he hung up leaving me to my lonely office.

Commander Drake Linnen's POV, Pakistan Capital Building, Pakistan.

Putting my phone down on my desk, I stood up to head out of my office and towards the officer's barracks.

Approaching one of the doors, I knocked.

"Knock! Knock! Knock!" It was late. I knew he was sleeping. But I knew he would love this.

Hearing him getting up from his slumber, I listened in as he asked.

"Who is it?"

"Linnen. Open up. I have something we need to talk about."

With the sound of him unlocking the door, I soon locked eyes with a man I even respected.

A large and built six foot hedgehog. Pure black quills that ran down to his shoulders, and the brownest of eyes. His figure only matched his combat record alongside me. One of the best I had under my command and a man I knew had a stake in this war.

A personal stake.

"I need you to gather up your men. You're going to Iraq."

With a confused looked he questioned.

"Why? What happened?"

"The Rebellion took the treaty." I stated as he widened his eyes to asked.

"What?"

It was clear he was in disbelief. Looking him in the eyes I replied.

"Their leader Raptor Voltz is in charge of safeguarding it. It's believed to be with him and him only, wherever he's hiding in Iraq. I need you to go down there and get it back. If the people of this country find out the Rebellion lifted it from us; the people will have a reason to rise. And we don't want another Rebellion. Especially after what happened last time."

With eyes locked, he asked.

"Orders?"

Nodding I replied.

"Get your team, go to Iraq, find Raptor. Get me my treaty back and end the Rebellion. Understood?"

Looking through me, he replied.

"Yes sir."

Giving him a small smile, I urged.

"Don't do this for me. Do it for her. Save lives before it's too late."

Slowly turning around, I proceeded to leave him to it. Left in his doorway, I knew what was behind the power of what I just said. Question is...how will he do it?

Black's POV.

Linnen left leaving me in question of what to do now. I've been waiting for this chance. I won't let it slip from me now.

Going back to my bed, I picked up my M9 and made haste to leave.

"I'm coming for you Raptor."

Make sure to let me know what you think and I'll have another chapter up tomorrow.
